Wulfgard Guide & Best Builds

Welcome to our Wulfgard build guide for Arknights: Endfield. Wulfgard is a 5-star Handcannon Caster Character available in Arknights: Endfield who utilizes the Heat element.

In our Wulfgard guide, we'll cover everything you need to know to get the most out of your Wulfgard, from building the best Gear and Weapons, to important stat priorities and combos.

Wulfgard's Best Weapons

Rational Farewell
  • Strength +124 (9/9)
  • Heat DMG +34.67% (9/9)

Pursuit: Aid from the Past (9/9):
Battle Skill DMG +28%.
When the wielder's combo skill applies Arts Burst or Combusted, the wielder gains ATK +44.8% for 15s.
Effects of the same name cannot stack.
Rational Farewell is Wulfgard's signature weapon. This weapon will boost Wulfgard's Battle Skill damage, and will further boost his Attack when his Combo Skill inflicts an Arts Burst or Combustion.
Clannibal
  • Main Attribute +132 (9/9)
  • Arts DMG Bonus +43.33% (9/9)

Infliction: Vicious Purge (4/9):
Arts DMG +19.2%.
After the wielder consumes an Arts Reaction, target enemy suffers Arts DMG Taken +16% (for the specified element) for 15s.
Each effect applies separately and does not stack with itself. Effect only triggers once every 25s.
Clannibal is a generic update to the Rational Farewell. More generic effects, rather than specific ones.
Wedge
  • Main Attribute +132 (9/9)
  • Crit Rate +19.5% (9/9)

Infliction: Wedge of Civilization (4/9):
Arts DMG Dealt +19.2%.
When the wielder casts a battle skill, the wielder gains Arts DMG Dealt +12.8% for 15s. When the wielder's battle skill applies an Arts Reaction, the wielder gains Arts DMG Dealt +25.6% for 15s.
The two effects apply separately and do not stack with themselves.
Wedge will grant a twice-stacking Arts DMG Boost to Wulfgard for using his Battle Skill, and applying Heat Infliction with his Battle Skill.
Long Road
  • Strength +93 (9/9)
  • Arts DMG Bonus +26% (9/9)

Pursuit: Unending Cycle (9/9):
When the wielder casts a combo skill, the wielder gains ATK +33.6% for 20s.
Effects of the same name cannot stack.
This weapon will increase Wulfgard's Attack after using his Combo Skill. Not particularly excting, but a solid early-game weapon until you can get your hands on a higher rarity option.

Wulfgard's Best Essences

Essences are one of the repeatedly farmable ways to further boost the damage of your Wulfgard. Which area and essence you will want to farm will depend on the weapon you are playing, as not all Essences are compatible with every weapon. Essences will increase the stats of your weapon, as well as enhance the passive effect it provides.

  • Rational Farewell: Strength, Heat DMG Boost, and Pursuit, farmable in The Hub and Power Plateau.
  • Clannibal: Main Attribute, Arts DMG Boost, and Infliction, farmable in Originium Science Park.
  • Wedge: Main Attribute, Critical Rate Boost, and Infliction, farmable in Wuling City.
  • Long Road: Strength, Heat DMG Boost, and Pursuit, farmable in The Hub and Originium Science Park.

Essences can be further upgraded through a system called Etching which will be a long-term investment due to how much Sanity it takes to fully max out a weapon. You may therefore want to farm and Etch Essences for a signature weapon already if you plan on getting it in the near-future.

Best Gear for Wulfgard

Hot Work
3-piece set effect: Wearer's Arts Intensity +30.
After the wearer applies Combustion, the wearer gains Heat DMG +50% for 10s. After the wearer applies Corrosion, the wearer gains Nature DMG +50% for 10s. The aforementioned effects cannot stack.
Wulfgard needs to apply and consume Combustion to make full use of his own kit, so we will lean into it. Hot Work will juice up his Heat Damage every time he applies Combustion, providing large bonuses to his damage.
  • Body: Hot Work Set - Hot Work Exoskeleton — Strength, Agility, Heat and Nature DMG Dealt Bonus
  • Hand: MI Security Offpiece - MI Security Gloves — Agility, Strength, Battle Skill DMG Bonus
  • Kit 1: Hot Work Set - Hot Work Power Bank — Strength, Agility, Arts Intensity
  • Kit 2: Hot Work Set - Hot Work Power Bank — Strength, Agility, Arts Intensity

Leveling Gear for Wulfgard

While the above gear set is the optimal choice, it might take you some time before you will be able to craft it. Below are some of the more early and mid-game sets that we recommend until you've reached the pinnacle of craftsmanship.

Aburrey's Legacy
3-piece set effect: Wearer's Skill DMG +24%.
When the wearer casts a battle skill, combo skill, or ultimate, the wearer gains ATK +5% for 15s. The buff from each of the three skill types is unique and does not stack with itself.
Wulfgard will be using this set for the rest of Chapter 1. It increases his damage across the board with Attack boosts, as long as he gets to use all his skills.
  • Body: Aburrey's Legacy Set - Aburrey Heavy Armor — Strength, Agility, All Skill DMG Dealt Bonus
  • Hand: Armored MSGR Offpiece - Armored MSGR Gloves T2 — Strength, Agility, Combo Skill DMG Bonus
  • Kit 1: Aburrey's Legacy Set - Aburrey UV Lamp — Strength, Agility, All Skill DMG Dealt Bonus
  • Kit 2: Aburrey's Legacy Set - Aburrey UV Lamp — Strength, Agility, All Skill DMG Dealt Bonus
AIC Heavy
3-piece set effect: Wearer's HP +500.
After the wearer defeats an enemy, the wearer restores 100 HP. Effect trigger cooldown: 5s.
Simple yet effective, this set grants his Main attributes, and is the set you will equip in the early game until you crafted something better.
  • Body: AIC Heavy Set - AIC Heavy Armor — Strength, Agility, Final DMG Reduction
  • Hand: Miner Gauntlets Offpiece - Miner Gauntlets — Strength, Agility, HP
  • Kit 1: AIC Heavy Set - AIC Heavy Plate — Strength, Final DMG Reduction
  • Kit 2: AIC Heavy Set - AIC Heavy Plate — Strength, Final DMG Reduction

Wulfgard's Skill Priority

Skill Priority: Thermite Tracers > Frag Grenade·β > Wolven Fury > Rapid Fire Akimbo

In every situation, Wulfgard's Battle Skill is his bread and butter, and he appreciates using his Combo Skill right alongside it. Prioritize those, then his Ultimate and Basic Attack. Depending on whether he's the favored Controlled Operator, his Basic should be improved before his Ultimate.

How to Play Wulfgard

Wulfgard will need to be paired with either an off-element Operator so he can apply Combustion, or another Heat Operator that is somehow capable of applying Combustion. That character will either apply Corruption or a different element Arts Infliction so that Wulfgard can use the bonus version of his Battle Skill or apply Combustion himself. The Combustion will also enable his Combo Skill for Heat Infliction.
