Patch 7.3 Release Schedule
Dates for the Patch 7.3 release schedule have not been announced yet, but the content delivery schedule is as follows..
- Patch 7.3 will be released on August 5, 2025. It includes the MSQ, dungeon, trial, Alliance Raid, and all miscellaneous or quality-of-life updates. Included as well are treasure map updates, PvP updates, and a new Crystalline Conflict map.
- Cosmic Exploration updates will be released in Patch 7.31.
- The fourth Deep Dungeon, Pilgrim's Traverse, as well as the Yok Huy Allied Society quests will be released in Patch 7.35.
Changes to FFXIV in Patch 7.3
Patch 7.3 focuses on updates to previous content released in this expansion cycle as well as key cosmetic features for immersive gameplay.
Chat Bubbles

A long requested feature in FFXIV, chat bubbles, have finally been added to the game! They are opt-in (disabled by default), and will never display in combat. Players can customize their chat bubbles to have various effects depending on the channel, and the text will still appear in the chatbox like before.
Duty Support Updates
The developers will continue to add Duty Support for dungeons not featured in the main scenario. Patch 7.3 will introduce changes and Duty Support for Cutter's Cry, a level 38 optional dungeon.
Miscellaneous Updates
More quality-of-life updates are usually reserved for the Live Letter immediately before the patch after they are finalized. Here are some miscellaneous updates we're aware of so far.
- Group pose will be receiving a few updates.
- Character display range has been increased. This is an option that can be toggled in the settings, allowing for stronger setups to see objects further away.
- Phoenix Downs are now usable in combat with a long cooldown in almost all 4-player content. They will be stackable and purchaseable from vendors.
- Viera can now hide their ears when wearing hats. Where do they go, though?
Patch 7.3 PvE Job Changes
No PvE changes were discussed in the 7.3 Live Letters. We will have to wait until the patch to see if there will be any adjustments. Major balance changes are unlikely due to not having a Savage raid tier in this patch.
Patch 7.3 Content
Several new duties will be released in Dawntrail with Patch 7.3. As always, one dungeon, one trial, and one Extreme trial will be released immediately. This patch will also feature an Alliance Raid and an Unreal Trial.
New Main Scenario Quests in Patch 7.3

Patch 7.3 will have new main scenario quests, continuing where the Dawntrail Patch 7.2 MSQ left off.
New Sidequests in Patch 7.3

Hildibrand sidequests will be released in Patch 7.35. These will expand on quests released previously, so complete them beforehand if you want to jump into these immediately.
New Dungeons in Patch 7.3

One new endgame dungeon will be released in Patch 7.3. The Meso Terminal evokes imagery from both Living Memory as well as Everkeep. Could this be the thrilling conclusion of Dawntrail's post-patch MSQ?
New Trials in Patch 7.3

One new trial and one Unreal trial will be released in Patch 7.2. Due to spoilers, the developers have not released the name of the trial; only an ominous image of a statue was teased. However, we know that the Unreal trial will be Seiryu, the last of the Four Lords from Stormblood. Written tips and guides on the trials will be released on our Trials hub after the patch is live, so take a look if you are interested in conquering these duties!
New Raids in Patch 7.3

The second Alliance Raid of Dawntrail, San d'Oria: The Second Walk will be released in Patch 7.3. Echoes of Vana'diel is Dawntrail's Alliance Raid series, and it is both a crossover and homage to FFXI, the first Final Fantasy MMO.

New Allied Society Quests in Patch 7.3

Yok Huy Allied Society quests will be added in Patch 7.35. These quests will be geared towards Disciples of the Hand.
New Deep Dungeon in Patch 7.3

Long awaited is the fourth Deep Dungeon, Pilgrim's Traverse. Deep Dungeons are a roguelike dungeon in FFXIV with its own progression, mechanics, and systems. Players battle devious enemies and difficult bosses in ever-changing environments to reach the 100th floor, where they will be rewarded with prestige if they can defeat the final boss. Pilgrim's Traverse will be just as difficult as previous Deep Dungeons, less punishing for casual players, and includes an optional new Ultimate-level "Quantum" difficulty for hardcore players.
Gearing in Patch 7.3

As FFXIV is a vertical progression MMO, new and improved gear can be acquired in the patch. Patch 7.3 does not feature an increased item level, but new gearing options will be added to allow players to increase their item levels quickly or gear up alt jobs. Learn more about how to gear up from our Dawntrail gearing guide. You can also find best-in-slot gear lists on each of our job guides!
PvP Updates in Patch 7.3

With the release of Patch 7.3, PvP Series 9 will begin and Series 8 will end. A new Crystalline Conflict map will be released: The Bayside Battleground.
Additionally, there are a few important combat and quality-of-life changes coming to PvP in 7.3. These include the following.
- General balance adjustments will be made to PvP actions.
- Certain buff actions will now include a persistent visual effect as long as they're active. It will be easier to see a Samurai's Chiten or a Dark Knight's Undead Redemption, among other skills.
- Purify now has a shorter cooldown but costs MP instead.
- New rewards will be added to Trophy Crystals.
PvP Crystalline Conflict Changes in Patch 7.3

Crystalline Conflict will have new ranks added above Crystal: Omega and Ultima. As with most competitive modes, the highest ranks often have too many players inside. These ranks will be based on Crystal Credit earned at Crystal rank and above, and players can be promoted and demoted through these new ranks. In addition, players can register for Casual matches in parties of up to 2.
