Lacrimosa Guide & Best Builds

Welcome to our Lacrimosa build guide for Neverness to Everness. Lacrimosa is an S-Rank Liquid Character available in Neverness to Everness who utilizes the Chaos element.

In our Lacrimosa guide, we'll cover everything you need to know to get the most out of her, from building the best gear and weapons, to important skill priorities and combos.

Lacrimosa's Best Arcs

The Last Rose M1
ATK - 570
CRIT Rate - 24%

Bohemian Rose

Increases ATK by 14%.
Grants 1 stack of Chaos Thorn each time the wearer deals DoT. Increases CRIT DMG by 6% per stack for 3s. Triggers at most once every 0.3s, up to 10 stacks and refreshes the duration when retriggered. Grants 10 stacks of Chaos Thorn immediately when the wearer casts a Redirect Skill.
Extends the Broken state of a Broken enemy by 3s when the wearer deals damage to them (triggers at most once per Break Effect).
The Last Rose is Lacrimosa's best Arc, providing both a strong Attack and CRIT boost. The main Arc Effect of this weapon is its CRIT DMG boosting Chaos Thorn effect, which Lacrimosa can take full advantage of. Her attacks all inflict the Nightmare status on enemies, dealing Chaos DMG over time, which in turn grants stacks of this Arc's Chaos Thorn, making it easy for Lacrimosa to maintain the full buff. It also further extends the Break duration once per break, allowing for some very high damage windows.
Fluff of Fleetness M1
ATK - 512
CRIT DMG - 44%

Motor Candy

Increases 5% ATK every 1s while the wearer is the active character, up to 5 stacks. Resets when the wearer leaves the field.
Fluff of Fleetness is another great choice for Lacrimosa, providing her with a strong CRIT DMG boost. The Arc effect grants her a strong Attack boost, stronger than the Attack boost of The Last Rose, however, the on-field requirement for the boost makes it harder to maintain.
Youthful Fantasy M1
ATK - 570
ATK - 30%

"Black Tome"

Increases Break Intensity by 60.
Seals Arc: Black Tome with two chains by default. Unleashes 1 chain each time any character on the team casts a Support Skill. Makes Arc: Black Tome available when all two chains are unleashed.
Arc: Black Tome — Summons the Black Tome for 20s. Designates an enemy every 5s. Increases the wearer's Chaos DMG dealt to designated enemies by 20%. Deals Chaos DMG equal to 200% of the wearer's ATK to designated enemies when they take Break Damage.
Youthful Fantasy is another solid S-rank alternative for Lacrimosa, providing a strong Attack boost with its substat. The Black Tome effect boosts Lacrimosa's Chaos DMG, especially when fully investing in Attack. The main downside to this weapon however, is that it it designed around Break, which Lacrimosa's kit is not designed around. That makes it difficult for her to benefit from the second half of the Black Tome effect.
Shiny Days M5
ATK - 475
ATK - 25%

Film - MANISH

Increases Break Intensity by 48.
Increases DMG by 10% against Broken units.
Shiny Days is a good A-rank option for Lacrimosa, providing her with a good Attack-boosting substat. Unfortunately, similarly to Youthful Fantasy, the Arc Effect of this weapon is centered on Break and broken enemies, making it difficult for Lacrimosa to fully utilize the Arc properly.

Best Console Setups for Lacrimosa

Lacrimosa's Console bonus is a 10% Chaos DMG bonus for every Type III Module

Diabolos

2-piece: Epic (2): Chaos DMG +10%.
4-piece: Legendary (4): Ignores 12% of enemies' Chaos RES. Ignores 24% of enemies' Chaos RES for 20s after the wearer participates in Nova or Scorch reactions.
Diabolos is the best Cartridge for Lacrimosa, providing her with increased Chaos damage and letting her ignore Chaos resistance of enemies. It is recommended to run this cartridge with the full set effect, as ignoring resistance can provide a large boost to her damage. When using the full set effect, you should be able to fit an additional 2 Type III Modules and 1 additional Type II Module. This gives her a total of 40% Chaos Damage with her Console bonus. Displayed below is an example setup for her running a Diabolos cartridge.

Lacrimosa's Stat Priority

Cartridge Mainstat Priority: Chaos DMG > ATK > Cycle Intensity > CRIT
Substat Priority: ATK% > Universal DMG % > Cycle Intensity > CRIT > ATK

Lacrimosa is an Attack-scaling Esper that benefits well from high Attack and and chaos bonus damage. Cycle Intensity could also be a good state to have on Lacrimosa in teams where she is a main trigger for Cycle reactions as it would increase the damage of those reactions. If Lacrimosa is awoken with her A6 Morning Spell Cycle Intensity becomes her top Mainstat and substat priority as she will be able to trigger cycle reactions more often.

Lacrimosa's Skill Priority

Basic Attack > Skill = Ultimate > Support Skill

Her Basic Attack, Skill, and Ultimate are all able to inflict the Nightmare Damage over Time effect which scales off of her Basic Attack making that her first priority to maximize that damage. Following that her skill and ultimate are of equal priority as they both are able to do large amounts of damage.

Lacrimosa's Awakening Priority

If you have one or multiple copies of a character, you will be able to select Awakenings of your choosing. The following is a recommended order of what Awakening to unlock first for Lacrimosa. Remember that you can switch them at any time to try out different ones, or tailor your choices for a specific fight or situation.

Awakening Unlock Order Explanation
Morning Spell
(A6)
If you only have one Awakening for Lacrimosa this the best awakening to unlock with her. the Ability to trigger esper cycle reactions without needing cycle energy helps the team do consistent esper cycles leading to a sharp increase to the teams overall damage. Though if you have multiple Awakenings it might be more useful to gain other awakenings before this for her own personal damage.
Almighty Lord of Tomatoes
(A4)
Her next best Awakening to get is her A4 as it doubles the duration of Nightmare effectively doubling its damage.
Clock Out Clemency
(A1)
Her A1 is the next recommended awakening as it farther increases her Nightmare damage and pairs very well with her A4. If you have two Awakenings it may be better to unlock her A1 and A4 over having her A6 especially if the team is not built around the Cycle Reaction damage.
Tempered Glass Judgement
(A5)
Lacrimosa's 4th recommend Awakening is her A5. similarly to her A1 this Awakening is much more useful if you can unlock her A4 as this awakening prevents the Nightmare effect from being removed before the end of its DoT is over. If you have only three Awakenings similarly to if you only have 2 it may be better to not run the A6 and instead run her A4, A1, and A5 together for maximum effectiveness of her Nightmare damage.
Rise and Shine
(A2)
Lacrimosa's 5th recommend awakening is her A2. this gives Lacrimosa a flat damage increase after her support skill. This Awakening pairs greatly with her A6 it can automatically trigger her support skill making it easier for Lacrimosa to maintain the buff. If you only have 2 awakenings this skill and her A6 might be a preferable pair if you are running a team designed around Cycle Reactions.
Molten Ice Cream
(A3)
The last recommended awakening for Lacrimosa is her A3. This awakening allows Lacrimosa to trigger her nightmare damage as a single instance of damage on the 5th hit of her Basic Attack. While useful for more quickly finishing fights there is no actual damage increase to Lacrimosa from this making it largely a personal choice if you use it.

How to Play Lacrimosa

Lacrimosa's is a largely off-field esper switching on field to attack with her Basic attack, Skill, and Ultimate to stack up the Nightmare Damage over Time effect before switching off. However, she can work as a more on-field position thanks to her basic attack dealing the Nightmare effect on hit meaning she is not reliant on having her skill or ultimate ready to use to do damage.
