On this page, you will find out the best PvE talents for your Restoration Druid in WoW Classic — Season of Discovery, as well as advised runes.

Restoration Druid Talent Build

As the current maximum level is only 50, the talents you can pick from are limited, but expect this page to expand as the level cap increases.

Restoration Druid Talent Build

Druids are meant to heal with healing over time effects (HoTs) such as Lifebloom Icon Lifebloom and Wild Growth Icon Wild Growth. These are great at level 50 and worth pressing within their niches of single and area healing, respectively.

Unfortunately, the current WoW Classic Restoration Druid talents mostly support Healing Touch Icon Healing Touch instead of individual heals over time like Rejuvenation Icon Rejuvenation, making it still the primary way to single target heal in all PvE situations, but with the removal of the player buff limit and new skill book Leaflet of Enhanced Restoration Icon Leaflet of Enhanced Restoration it is possible to also use Rejuvenation Icon Rejuvenation and Regrowth Icon Regrowth to smooth out damage intake on tanks and other focused targets.

Many of your Healing Touch Icon Healing Touches will be cast instantly through the effect of the Fury of Stormrage Icon Fury of Stormrage rune, which causes Wrath Icon Wrath to be free and proc instant Healing Touch Icon Healing Touches, justifying picking up Improved Wrath Icon Improved Wrath.

Meanwhile, a very viable alternative to the healing-focused tree presented above is to simply spec Balance instead, but rune Wild Growth Icon Wild Growth and Improved Barkskin Icon Improved Barkskin instead of Sunfire Icon Sunfire and Gale Winds Icon Gale Winds (which can still be good in fights with a lot of adds to kill). This will enable high area healing and good DPS in a single package. Remember to move the point in Moonkin Form Icon Moonkin Form to Improved Starfire Icon Improved Starfire, as you will want to use Wild Growth on cooldown and doing so will take you out of Moonkin Form.

  • Gloves — Wild Growth Icon Wild Growth
  • Pants — Lifebloom Icon Lifebloom
  • Chest — Fury of Stormrage Icon Fury of Stormrage
  • Waist — Nourish Icon Nourish
  • Feet — Dreamstate Icon Dreamstate
  • Head — Improved Barkskin Icon Improved Barkskin
  • Wrist — Efflorescence Icon Efflorescence

One interesting thing about Restoration Druid in Season of Discovery is that you can actually DPS quite a bit with very cheap Starsurge Icon Starsurge and free Wrath Icon Wraths by taking the Fury of Stormrage Icon Fury of Stormrage rune, and that will keep your Mana regeneration active as well as give you instant Healing Touch Icon Healing Touches, which are great fillers in the low intensity healing present in leveling groups and early dungeons!

Regardless, as we are focusing on the pure healer version of Restoration here, we will be suggesting a healing-focused rune setup with Nourish Icon Nourish, which is a fast option to Healing Touch that benefits from the same talents and is especially strong on targets with at least one of your healing over time effects active, making it a great spot healing follow up to Wild Growth Icon Wild Growth.

Living Seed Icon Living Seed is unfortunately still too weak to justify using, but Lifebloom Icon Lifebloom (for single target) and Wild Growth Icon Wild Growth (for party healing) will do the majority of your healing and are thus great rune options. Also, while Balance DPS runes are very strong for Restoration as well, we detail them in the Balance guide instead for hybrid builds, as explained above.

Dreamstate Icon Dreamstate provides a nice damage and Mana regen bonus, which will now also be enabled by healing critical strikes once you get the new Sunken Temple healing tier set 3-piece bonus (Exiled Prophet's Jerkin Icon Exiled Prophet's Jerkin).

Finally, Improved Barkskin Icon Improved Barkskin converts your Barkskin Icon Barkskin into an external cooldown and Efflorescence Icon Efflorescence converts your Swiftmend Icon Swiftmend into a powerful area heal, provided allies stay within its radius for the duration.

More Engravings are likely to come out as we reach higher level caps, so make sure to keep a tab on our general Druid Rune guide below to learn what they do, and where to find them:
