World Boss Raid Guides

World Bosses can be found in many zones on WoW Classic and have interesting loot tables with items that complement what you can get from raids and, in the case of the Dragons of Nightmare, drop several epics with high Nature Resistance, which you might want for the Ahn'Qiraj raids.

Because these bosses are generally very easy, the main concern when shooting for them is to ensure a timely tag. Having a few Warlock characters logged out in the zone they spawn on can ensure a timely tag and summoning of a raid to kill the bosses, and is recommended for guilds who want to be able to kill World Bosses every so often on competitive servers.

1.

What are World Bosses

World Bosses are outdoor raid boss enemies which can be attacked by both factions and multiple raids of players simultaneously.

These can be found in specific zones on WoW Classic and have loot tables comparable to those of instanced raid bosses such as Onyxia, full of epic gear.

This gear is often stronger than that of instanced raids, and, in the case of the Dragons of Nightmare, carries high Nature Resistance, which you might want for the Ahn'Qiraj raids.

As outdoor bosses, the whole server will be competing for tagging and killing them. Due to this "winner takes all" nature, it is often very hard for smaller guilds to have a shot at their loot, but we will share some tricks to help you get a shot at them below.

Tagging and Killing World Bosses

Because these bosses are generally very easy, the main concern when shooting for them is to ensure a timely tag. Having a few Level 20+ (for Ritual of Summoning Icon Ritual of Summoning) Warlock characters logged out in the zone they spawn on can ensure a timely tag and summoning of a raid to kill the bosses, and is recommended for guilds who want to be able to kill World Bosses every so often on competitive servers.

Due to their simplicity, you will generally only be required to bring one tank (with the exception of Taerar, due to his clone ability), 6-12 healers depending on the size of the raid and can fill in the rest with random DPS. Obviously, the more optimized your raid setup, the easier it will be the kill the bosses, but due to these bosses usually being killed within minutes of spawning, inviting anyone who is close usually takes priority over assembling the perfect raid group.

We will detail the zones and general areas where you should leave your Warlock alts below.

World Boss Locations and Guides

3.1.

Azuregos

You can find Azuregos in Azshara, north of Orgrimmar, around (53, 80), in the southeast edge of the zone. Park your Warlock in one of the many safe ridges in the area.

Our detailed guide for Azuregos can be found here:

3.2.

Lord Kazzak

You can find Lord Kazzak in the Blasted Lands, on the far southwest of the zone, around (50, 80), and deep into the dangerous Tainted Scar area, which contains many elite demons.

While it will probably take you quite some deaths unless you have an escort, you can park your Warlock in one of the safe ridges or next to one of the mountains overlooking the area where the boss spawns.

Our detailed guide for Lord Kazzak can be found here:
