Occult Crescent: The North Horn
Occult Crescent: The North Horn is the second area of Occult Crescent released in patch 7.55. It is tied to the last of four stages for the Dawntrail Phantom Relic Weapons, and can be unlocked by progressing the storyline for Occult Crescent and accepting the quest Occult Reunion.
The North Horn is a vast area filled with ruins and secrets, occupied by dangerous monsters. Players must explore this uncharted island together in instances of up to 72 players, share information about Occult Records, and party up to grow stronger as a group and take on powerful foes.
What Has Been Added or Changed From The South Horn?
While the South Horn capped Knowledge Level at 25, players will now be able to reach Knowledge Level 40. Additionally, several new Phantom Jobs are available, either bought from the vendor with silver and gold coins or randomly dropped from completing certain Critical Engagements.
The silver and gold coins obtained and used in The South Horn are replaced by new identical currencies for The North Horn. Additionally, story progression in The North Horn does not require specific Occult Records to be obtained, instead tasking players with travelling to marked locations.
How Do I Progress The Story In The North Horn?
Upon arriving for the first time, the player will find themselves in the Base Camp at the southeastern corner of the map. After talking to Ketenramm and Archive, the player will be tasked with locating a confluence. This is marked on the map, so players will have no trouble locating it. Four more confluences must be located in the next quest, which are also marked on the map.
Additionally, the third quest requires the completion of the Critical Encounter Lost on the Wind while the quest is active. This CE will spawn naturally, and does not require any preparation by players.
Finally, once players begin the quest In the Shadow of the Tower, they must complete the Critical Encounters 'Doubled Trouble', 'Quarried Away', and 'Appalling Behaviour', and then reach Knowledge Level 40 in order to progress to the final section of the story.
How Can I Level Up In The North Horn?
The best way to increase your Knowledge level is to either join or create a gold farm party and chain mobs kills together in order to get EXP bonuses alongside gold currency, or you can take part in FATEs and Critical Encounters in order to get EXP and silver currency. These methods are also the best way to raise the level of a Phantom Job.
How Do I Progress My Relic in The South Horn?
Once you have begun the quest Phantoms to Fillet, you are able to obtain Phantom Dispellers from certain Duty Roulettes, as well as FATEs and Critical Encounters in The North Horn. These are guarenteed drops, and each FATE and CE drops specific Dispellers. You need at least 100 of each of the three Dispellers in order to progress the relic to the next step. For more information, consult the Phantom Relics guide.
What Else is There to do in The North Horn?
Outside of Records, FATEs and CEs, players can also encounter Magic Pots, random treasure coffers placed throughout the area, and Fortune Carrots.
Additionally, the Forked Tower: Magic large-scale raid will become available once players progress the story. Unlike the Forked Tower: Blood large-scale raid, this one has both Normal and Extremely difficulties, with the former being tailored for the story and the latter being intended as a challenge for players.
While Occult Records are not required to progress or complete the story of the North Horn, the map below shows the location of all Occult Records, with field-intractable ones marked in red and Critical Encounters and FATEs marked in blue.
What Rewards Are Available in The North Horn?
Alongside the rewards from random coffers, Magic Pots, and Fortune Carrots, players will also be able to earn Silver and Gold currency
by taking part in FATEs and CEs or chaining mob kills together respectively. These can be spent on gear that gives bonuses inside Occult
Crescent areas, and this gear can be upgraded with an item, the
Final Final Fixative, which can be obtained from chests or bought
with currency.
