The Queen Guide for Delubrum Reginae (Normal)

The Queen is the final boss of Delubrum Reginae. The arena is shaped like a chessboard, and multiple mechanics in the fight require players to move a specific number of squares on the board.

As a reminder, all encounters within DRN will afflict the debuff Twice-come Ruin for two minutes when players are hit by an avoidable attack or mechanic. If you are afflicted with this again before the first debuff expires, you will be cursed with Doom and die instantly. Due to this, first-time players should focus on personal safety over keeping their damage up.

Boss Ability Quick-Guide

  • Empyrean Iniquity: Raidwide.
  • Cleansing Slash: Tankbuster that inflicts both a bleed DoT and Doom. This Doom must be cleansed with Esuna or a Resistance Medkit.
  • Queen's Will: Summons two of the Queen's Guard, and orders them each to move a specific number of squares on the board in the direction they are facing.
  • Beck and Call to Arms: Executes the previously given order from Queen's Will. When the Guards reach their assigned squares, they will both execute a plus-shaped AoE that covers all tiles on the cardinal directions relative to that Guard.
  • Northswain's Glow: Creates three orange orbs in three corners of the arena. After a short delay, all orbs will change into lines and begin to grow in specific directions. When a line intersects another line, it will do a massive point-blank AoE around the point of intersection. All three lines will intersect at the same time.
  • Heaven's Wrath: Creates a large blue line on the floor. After a short delay, it will explode and knock back all players away from itself.
  • Judgement Blade: The boss goes untargetable and appears at the north side of the arena. It will then show a visual tell of three large glowing blue swords on one side of its body. After a short delay, it will dash through the arena and cleave all squares on that side of the arena, as well as the column of squares it dashes through.
  • Gods Save the Queen: Heavy raidwide cast once in the fight. Will be skipped to if the boss reaches 50% HP before this would happen naturally.
  • Queen's Edict: Orders players to move a specific number of squares on the board. Players will have 10 seconds to choose the tile to start from, and a further 10 seconds to move that number of squares. From the second cast onwards, this will also summon two of the Queen's Guard, who will act as they do with earlier casts of Queen's Will + Beck and Call to Arms.
  • Relentless Play: Summons two of the Queen's Guard. These will always be either the Gunner and Warrior, or the Soldier and Knight. The Guards will then both use their core mechanics at the same time. This is either a combination of Automatic Turret and Bombslinger, with the boss casting Heaven's Wrath in between the two, or a combination of Double Gambit and Sword/Shield Oath, with the boss casting Judgement Blade between the two.

Tips and Tricks

  • For Queen's Will and Queen's Edict, when the summoned Guards are in the centre of the arena, the line of squares through the middle of the arena that is parallel to the direction the Guards are walking will always have at least one safe square that is within melee range of the boss.
  • For Relentless Play, when the Gunner and Warrior are summoned, the boss will cast Heaven's Wrath in between their two mechanics. Players will need to pay attention to whether Reversal of Forces is being used, and then ensure that they use the knockback to push them into either a large or smaller bomb as necessary.

Rewards

Clearing The Queen will reward players with two personal treasure coffers that only they can see, which can be found near the exit of the boss arena.
