Trinity Seeker Guide for Delubrum Reginae (Normal)

Trinity Seeker is the first boss of Delubrum Reginae. Its core mechanic is its ability to swap between three different weapons, those being Katana, Greatsword, and Fist, with each one having different mechanics.

The boss will always start holding its katana. While the Rotation Quick-Guide listed below is accurate, the boss may sometimes skip ahead to later parts of the encounter if DPS is high enough, so bear this in mind.

As a reminder, all encounters within DRN will afflict the debuff Twice-come Ruin for two minutes when players are hit by an avoidable attack or mechanic. If you are afflicted with this again before the first debuff expires, you will be cursed with Doom and die instantly. Due to this, first-time players should focus on personal safety over keeping their damage up.

Boss Ability Quick-Guide

  • Verdant Tempest: Raidwide.
  • Verdant Path: Swaps weapons. The boss will always follow this up with an attack unique to the weapon it swapped to.
  • Act of Mercy: Used when swapping to Katana. Telegraphed plus-shaped AoE.
  • Mercy Fourfold: Each of the four katanas the boss wields will glow in a random order. The boss will then cast four late-telegraphed half-arena cleaves in a row in quick succession, in the same order as the katanas glowed in.
  • Seasons of Mercy: The boss will do three mechanics simultaneously. Ice is a criss-cross of line AoEs that happens twice in a row. Between the first and second, the Moon will do a gaze AoE, forcing players to look away. After the second Ice AoEs, the Blossom marker on the floor will expand to cover most of the arena, then do a massive circle AoE that hits all players standing on it.
  • Baleful Swathe: Used when swapping to Greatsword. Telegraphed AoE with a line-shaped safe spot centred on the boss's hitbox in the direction it is facing.
  • Baleful Blade: Room-wide telegraphed AoE. Players need to stand behind the raised walls near the outside of the arena in order to line-of-sight the attack.
  • Phantom Edge: Augments the next cast of Baleful Blade, turning it into a telegraphed knockback AoE instead. Players will need to align with the raised walls in order to not get knocked into the death wall.
  • Burning Chains: Chains two random players together out of the marked players. These players will need to run away from each other in order to break their chains before they start taking damage. This is often cast immediately before Baleful Blade.
  • Iron Impact: Used when swapping to Fist. Telegraphed line stack AoE.
  • Iron Splitter: The boss will jump to a ring of tiles on the floor and begin casting. Stand on a ring made up of tiles of the opposite color in order to avoid the untelegraphed AoE. This will always happen twice in a row, with the second AoE being the opposite of the first.
  • Dead Iron: The boss will tether to three random players and mark them for Earthshakers, untelegraphed cone-shaped AoEs that originate from the boss and travel in the direction of the targeted players. These three players should spread out in order to avoid excess damage. This will always happen twice in a row.

Tips and Tricks

  • For Mercy Fourfold, one way to resolve this is to watch for the first blade that glows, and stand on the opposite side of the boss from it. Then, adjust to also avoid the second blade that glows, and move into the quarter of the arena that was hit by both blades after the second one goes off. If the second blade is the opposite side to the first blade, adjust to the third blade instead.
  • Seasons of Mercy can be visually overwhelming. As such, dropping DPS for ease of mechanic resolution can be helpful. Players can begin by searching for the Moon, and then looking away from it until it resolves. While looking away from it, players should also locate the small Blossom AoE and move away from it to the opposite side of the arena. Positioning to avoid the two Ice AoEs is much simpler to do by comparison.
  • Baleful Blade is always telegraphed, and Phantom Edge will always leave a buff on the boss until it is consumed. If in doubt, position in a way where you can quickly and easily move behind or in front of a barrier if you lose track of whether it will be the knockback or not.
  • As the distance required to break Burning Chains is based on the original distance between the two tethered players, they will break much quicker and easier if all players with the chain markers aim to stand as close as possible to each other before the mechanic begins.

Rewards and Proceeding Onwards

Clearing Trinity Seeker will reward players with a personal treasure coffer that only they can see, which can be found near the exit of the boss arena.

The walkway between Trinity Seeker and the next encounter will contain hidden traps. These are moderately sized circles that can be revealed by using Lost Perception, and will be triggered by stepping on them. Tanks can safely trigger these with their Invulnerability skills.

  • Orange traps will explode, killing all nearby players when triggered.
  • Purple traps will afflict a DoT to all nearby players when triggered.

The next section is Dahu.
