Chongyun Best Teams and Team Compositions

When paired with Chongyun, Rosaria gains access to his Cryo Infusion that transforms her from a primarily off-field DPS into a strong on-field Cryo DPS. This allows her Normal and Charged Attacks to deal Cryo DMG, enabling her to fully benefit from Cryo-focused buffs and reactions. As a result, the duo works particularly well in Freeze, Mono Cryo, and Reverse Melt teams, where Rosaria can take advantage of Chongyun's infusion to deal sustained on-field DMG and contribute strong Burst damage and valuable team support.

Chongyun is perfectly viable for most Freeze teams as long as the infused character uses a Sword, Claymore, or Polearm, otherwise they cannot benefit from Chongyun's buff. While Kamisato Ayaka does not benefit from Chongyun's Cryo infusion as she has her own, she will still make use of his Cryo RES Shred and particle generation. Kaeya is a viable options as Sub-DPS in Mono Cryo teams, while Shenhe is required in a Mono Cryo team. The following characters are the most viable:

For Freeze teams, you will need to pair Chongyun to some specific Hydro characters in order to be able to trigger Freeze with your main Cryo DPS. The following characters are the most viable:

• Furina
• Yelan
• Xingqiu

Chongyun is a great support for any type of Melt or Reverse Melt team. Bennett is needed as well, leaving two open slots. One should ideally be filled by a main Cryo DPS who can benefit from Chongyun's Cryo infusion. The last slot can be filled with another Pyro or Anemo support.
