Welcome to our Shadow Priest guide for WoW Classic - Season of Discovery, tailored for PvE content. Here, you will learn how to play the Priest class as a Shadow Priest. Click the links below to navigate the guide or read this page for a short introduction.

1.

Overview

Master of Shadow and attuned to the Void, Shadow Priet is one of Classic World of Warcrafts most unique classes. With the massive changes coming to Season of Discovery, many of the class's weaknesses were either reworked or entirely removed allowing you to be able to experience the full power of the specialization. In Season of Discovery the debuff limit has been removed so you will now not only be able to take advantage of your full array of debuffs, but you can even choose to augment your gear for additional damage over time abilities such as Void Plague Icon Void Plague. Shadow Priest is not only an incredible damage dealer, but can easily cast heals in emergency situations, making them a powerful addition to any party. Rune Engravings for Shadow Priest will not only give you new abilities, but augment your current ones in a way that will allow for you to deal damage in many different ways, such as the addition of Mind Sear Icon Mind Sear bolstering your character with massive AoE damage.

Shadow Priest should have no issue finding groups now thanks to the removal of the debuff cap and the addition of abilities such as Mind Sear Icon Mind Sear allows them to deal massive AoE damage, putting them in the mix with Warlocks and Mages when it comes to handling large groups of enemies. Shadow Priest flourishes in group environments and will especially shine in Dungeons and Battle Grounds.

Professions

Professions have always been a big part of Classic WoW but are made even more important in Season of Discovery with the addition of many new recipes.

Engineering provides tons of situationally useful goodies that will help you in combat both in PvP and PvE either to deal more damage or sometimes even a niche defensive cool down to mitigate or even entirely avoid incoming damage or crowd control.

Tailoring now provides even more great gear with the new recipes found in Season of Discovery. Many of the new Epic crafted items are Bind on Pickup so you will need the respective profession to use the items.
