Splintergraft Reveal: The Witchwood

Recommended Posts

This Druid legendary seems underwhelming and doesn't seem to be on the same level as the other Witchwood cards revealed for Malfurion.

This card was revealed by BlackFireIce on Facebook. The video is in Polish.

Screencap from the video

Looking at the trend that has started from Kobold & Catacombs, it is a nice surprise that Splintergraft has vanilla stats for a late game Legendary minion. Perhaps this is the case because it's effect is not that amazing. There could be a use for it in Big Druid or you can just copy something meme-y like Stonetusk Boar or Saronite Chain Gang. Just for the stats, it's not a bad card to include in one's deck (what type of deck would that be is another question), but I think it's more of a win more card and it doesn't seem broken enough.

Judging from the artwork, the next card that is going to be revealed is the first Mage legendary minion (you can find the schedule here)! Make sure to check out our Witchwood hub for the latest card reveals and all the information you need about Hearthstone's new expansion.

Well, with the right copy monster or battlecry effect, this might have some use, but I sure do agree that it isn't as impressive as I would've wanted to see.

Besides the obvious combos with basic keywords, here's a couple fun ones:

Feral Gibberer

If you make a 10/10 Gibberer, play it and attack > The Feral Gibberer that you'll get back to your hand will still be a 1/1 (and not a 10/10), given how the buffed-in-the-board-copy-to-hand interaction works. If you buff a Feral Gibberer, you don't get a buffed copy to your hand.

I'm not sure I get the Meat Wagon one. The others look nice, especially Arcane Tyrant - might actually see play!

Some pretty interesting otk options.  Twig + 2 faceless manipuators is an otk with a boar.  Probably too slow.  Interesting, but probably bad.  Kind of the theme so far with this set.

Meat wagon combo means you can pull a card with 9 atk or less from your deck for free.

This is actually a good finisher you play it at turn 9 with Stonetusk Boar

At turn 10 a 10/10 charge hits enemy face.

Since druid lose all Jade things now have to play something else if you wanna go in late game or just play aggro.

If you ever tried Dinosize this is the same thing but with Dinosize opponent doesn't know 10 damage are going to his face next turn with this you tell enemy I've a 10/10 charge in hand that wants meet your face prepare yourself

Turn 9 cast unstable evolution (that you got from witch’s cauldron earlier) on a 7 drop on your board, then play splintergraft on the resulting Al’Akir Windlord. Turn 10 win. EZ.

Now I know that OTK Druid will probably be better in wild, but what if Aviana -> Kun -> Splinter (on Kun) -> Gadgetzan -> 17 Jade Idols (in fatigue). Seems good for one turn.

Watch for 2 more hours and you’ll receive another one! Twitch has updated how drops work on their end, and this is Hearthstone’s first time utilizing Twitch Drops since these changes were put into place. Here is what you need to know:
You’ll now be able to see your watch time progress towards any given drop. You will no longer receive drop rewards automatically. You must instead claim the drop on the channel you’re watching or in the Drops Inventory menu on Twitch within the first 24 hours of earning it.  You will need to claim your first Twitch Drop reward BEFORE you can earn progress towards a second. After you’ve claimed a reward on Twitch, please make sure you’re logging into the region you’d like to receive the drop(s) on, as the first region you log into will be where we deliver your packs. It can take up to ~30 minutes to receive your reward(s) in game after claiming. You must link your Twitch and Battle.net accounts before you can receive a drop.
Link Your Battle.net & Twitch Accounts
You'll need to link your Twitch.tv and Battle.net accounts to receive Twitch Drops. Here's how:
Log in or create an account on Twitch.tv. Navigate to the Settings menu by clicking your account name in the top-right corner of the home screen. Navigate to the Connections tab of the Settings menu. Find the Battle.net section, then follow the instructions after selecting a region and clicking Connect.
