General Information

On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Balance Druid for each boss of the following raid: Amirdrassil. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Season 4.

1.

Introduction

Below, you can find class and spec-specific advice for every fight in Amirdrassil. If you are looking for a general overview of the Raid that is not spec-specific, check out our dedicated Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope guides.

On this page, you will find Balance Druid specific information to deal with each boss in the Amirdrassil raid. These are not complete encounter guides but specific tips for doing the bosses as a Balance Druid.

This page assumes that you already understand most of the mechanics of each encounter. These can be found on the full raid guide, so what is contained here are details specifically tailored toward Balance Druid and how you can deal with each fight as best as possible.

All recommendations are progression-based tips and will not necessarily be the best for an overall DPS ranking.

2.

Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope Tips

The following tips will be primarily for Heroic and Normal level raid bosses. Mythic bosses and Mythic boss strategies are added as progression for high-end guilds explore the finer details of each encounter. Mythic tips are added in their own section below the regular tips and can have different talent recommendations.

2.1.

Awakened Raids

As of now, there is no information on potential mechanical changes to the bosses that are empowered by the Season 4 Awakened raid change.

3.

Gnarlroot

3.1.

Talents/Build

  • We recommend the multi-target build for this encounter while excluding  Aetherial Kindling Icon Aetherial Kindling. If adds are not living at all, you can swap to  full single target talents.
  •
  • BYGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgCAJJigkQQSikIFolIJJJlkQcgQol0iER0AoAAB
3.2.

Tips

Cooldowns should be used on pull and at the start of each phase if possible. Barkskin Icon Barkskin should be used at high stacks of Shadow Spines Icon Shadow Spines, especially during casts of Controlled Burn Icon Controlled Burn.

Save Dash Icon Dash during the intermission when you take the Ember-Charred Icon Ember-Charred debuff so you can clear it quickly on the roots. After the intermission, the boss takes increased damage, and you should use everything there.

On Mythic, the fight does not change much. Because of the fight timing, you still want to cooldown on pull and immediately when it comes up, even if your group lusts during the damage vulnerability. Still, try to have Pulsar stacked up for the intermission.

For more information, please refer to our Gnarlroot guide.

4.

Igira the Cruel

4.1.

Talents/Build

  • We recommend at least taking Starfall Icon Starfall and Lunar Shrapnel Icon Lunar Shrapnel  for this boss as there are short periods of spread 5 target damage. New Moon Icon New Moon   or Fury of Elune Icon Fury of Elune can be taken depending on how the boss is tanked and   the value you get.
  •
  • BYGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgCAJiIIJSQSIJSRol4AJJJlkQcgQolUiER0AoAAB
  •
  • If you do not need spear damage, swap to full single-target talents and cleave  off the spears onto the boss where possible.
  •
  • BYGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgCAJJigkQQSikcgUgWiDkIJlENxBChWSLJRENAKAQA
4.2.

Tips

There is regular damage on this boss, so use consumables and defenses liberally. If possible, try to use Barkskin Icon Barkskin or Renewal Icon Renewal when targeted with Blistering Spear Icon Blistering Spear as it is the dangerous targeted mechanic of this boss.

In a coordinated Mythic group, it is far easier to get Wild Mushroom Icon Wild Mushroom on 3 and sometimes even 4 targets depending on Blistering Spear Icon Blistering Spear placement. Remember that Wild Mushroom Icon Wild Mushroom has a 1-second delay time, so time your cast appropriately. If you do not need the spear damage, you should prioritize a more single-target-oriented build.

For more information, please refer to our Igira guide.

5.

Volcoross

5.1.

Talents/Build

  • We recommend the pure single target build for this boss.
  •
  • BYGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgCAJJigkQQSikcgUgWiDkIJlENxBChWSLJRENAKAQA
5.2.

Tips

This is a DPS check boss that you should use your cooldowns for, as they are convenient. Try to have a cooldown like Barkskin Icon Barkskin or Renewal Icon Renewal for each Serpent's Fury Icon Serpent's Fury and Flood of the Firelands Icon Flood of the Firelands. Wild Charge Icon Wild Charges disengage can be used to negate the knockback of Flood of the Firelands and move you out of the puddle more quickly.

On Mythic, the fight does not change apart from requiring an extra soak. The Mythic version of this fight has more movement, and you should try to heavily use Wild Charge Icon Wild Charge with a mid-flight global to maximize DPS.

For more information, please refer to our Volcoross guide.

6.

Council of Dreams

6.1.

Talents/Build

  • We recommend the full multi-target build. In the class tree, you should  also take Remove Corruption Icon Remove Corruption.
  •
  • BYGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgCAJJigkQQSikIFolIRSUSCJJEaJtkEJRDgGAE
6.2.

Tips

Use cooldowns on pull and as they come up. You should have permanent DoT uptime on all three bosses using Aetherial Kindling Icon Aetherial Kindling, and you should primarily focus the highest Health target.

A defensive should be saved for the main abilities such as Emerald Winds Icon Emerald Winds, which is the most threatening ability, but also for Constricting Thicket Icon Constricting Thicket and Barreling Charge Icon Barreling Charge. Use Remove Corruption Icon Remove Corruption to dispel Poisonous Javelin Icon Poisonous Javelin.

On Mythic, there are more boss mechanic overlaps, but nothing changes for Balance Druid. Make sure you are single targeting down the highest Health mob so that they die evenly.

For more information, please refer to our Council of Dreams guide.

7.

Larodar, Keeper of the Flame

7.1.

Talents/Build

  • We recommend at least taking Starfall Icon Starfall and Lunar Shrapnel Icon Lunar Shrapnel   as there are periods of multi-target. Depending on how adds are being handled,   you can choose to go further multi-target or single-target.
  •
  • BYGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgCAJJigkIBJhkIFHgWiDkkkUSCxBChWSJSERDgCAE
  •
  • If add damage is not required, go full single target to make the fight easier.
  •
  • BYGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgCAJJigkQQSikcgUgWiDkIJlENxBChWSLJRENAKAQA
7.2.

Tips

Damage priority depends on largely on your raid composition. In some raids, you may be the primary add killer, in which case taking spells like Fury of Elune Icon Fury of Elune and even Wild Mushroom Icon Wild Mushroom could be viable. In all scenarios, you will at least want your Starfall Icon Starfall and Lunar Shrapnel Icon Lunar Shrapnel talents to deal with the spread multi-target portions in phase two.

In phase one, use defensives on Raging Inferno Icon Raging Inferno and during overlapping mechanics especially with Furious Charge Icon Furious Charge. In phase two, save defensives for soaking Falling Embers Icon Falling Embers. Use Typhoon Icon Typhoon and Ursol's Vortex Icon Ursol's Vortex to control adds throughout the fight as needed.

On Mythic, make sure you save your second cooldown for Bloodlust, as given the fight timings, you are unlikely to get a third usage.

For more information, please refer to our Larodar guide.

8.

Nymue, Weaver of the Cycle

8.1.

Talents/Build

  • We recommend the full single target talent build for this boss. We also  recommend getting all movement talents as they will be useful throughout this  encounter.
  •
  • BYGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgCAJJigkQQSikcgUgWiDkIJlENxBChWSLJRENAKAQA
8.2.

Tips

Use your cooldowns on pull and as they come up afterward. If your group is lacking intermission damage, you can move your cooldowns here as that phase has a soft enrage due to increased raid damage taken.

Hold a defensive for mechanic overlaps while soaking Surging Growth Icon Surging Growth as well as for Viridian Rain Icon Viridian Rain. Wild Charge Icon Wild Charge in Human Form can be used to quickly get back to your group after dropping off Weaver's Burden Icon Weaver's Burden.

On Mythic, you will need to use your second set of cooldowns immediately as they come up and carry them into the second add at 3:20. This will let you get off a full third set of cooldowns as the fight is normally only around 6:30 long. Use your long range to get the far-out flowers while you are healthy and move in when there are many flower stacks for Healing.

9.

Smolderon

9.1.

Talents/Build

  • We recommend the full single target talent build for this boss. We also  recommend getting all movement talents as they will be useful throughout this  encounter.
  •
  • BYGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgCAJJigkQQSikcgUgWiDkIJlENxBChWSLJRENAKAQA
9.2.

Tips

Use your cooldowns on pull and for each intermission cycle. Soaking Living Flame Icon Living Flame grants a stacking damage bonus, which you should compound with potions and other cooldowns.

There is regular damage throughout the fight, but you should hold defensives when if you are rotated into a Brand of Damnation Icon Brand of Damnation group. Otherwise, focus primarily on dodging mechanics and maximizing boss damage through good positioning.

On Mythic, use your cooldown on pull and immediately when it comes off cooldown after. Use Warrior of Elune Icon Warrior of Elune to help with movement when possible. You want to generally have around 300 Pulsar stacks or more for each intermission to comfortably get into cooldowns with Living Flame Icon Living Flame. Sometimes, this requires delaying your orbs to plant and cast and move more comfortably with each mechanic.

If you are struggling with room denial or with the flame tornados, use the 45-yard range to your advantage and stand far away from the boss. This will have you dodge less waves as you will be on the edge of the majority of the traffic. This can also help with Seeking Inferno Icon Seeking Inferno as it will give you more room to kite.

For more information, please refer to our Smolderon guide.

10.

Tindral Sageswift, Seer of the Flame

10.1.

Talents/Build

  • We recommend the full single target talent build for this boss. We also  recommend getting all movement talents as they will be useful throughout this  encounter.
  •
  • BYGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgCAJiIIJSQSikIFHgWiDkIJlENJHIQaJtkEBNAKAQA
10.2.

Tips

Cooldowns should be used on pull and as they come up after. As the fight is timed, stack Primordial Arcanic Pulsar Icon Primordial Arcanic Pulsar to proc as you land after the intermission to deal increased damage to the Supernova Icon Supernova absorb shield.

Defensives are best used on Flaming Germination Icon Flaming Germination and you should shapeshift Mass Entanglement Icon Mass Entanglement.

On Mythic, pre-positioning is a must. Use the timed nature of the fight to pool Astral Power and minimize movement as you will be constantly moving in and out of the boss for dispels. Prioritize saving Wild Mushroom Icon Wild Mushroom for root damage based on what cooldowns have been assigned to them. You should always have one charge per root.

In phase 2 and 3, use shapeshift to position on the outside of root clumps to quickly get seeds during the boss casts.

For more information, please refer to our Tindral guide.

11.

Fyrakk the Blazing

11.1.

Talents/Build

  • We recommend running the hybrid build with Starfall Icon Starfall and  Lunar Shrapnel Icon Lunar Shrapnel.
  •
  • BYGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAgCAJJigkQQSikcgUgWiDkkkUSCJJgm0iEJ0AoAAB
11.2.

Tips

Use your cooldowns on pull, at 3-minutes, and with Bloodlust. The fight is split into three phases, alternating single and then multi-target phases. In phase one, burn the boss and follow the group until the intermission.

In phase two, cast Mark of the Wild Icon Mark of the Wild on the healer adds if you are the main Druid in your group, as it heals the world tree more with the buff , increasing your group's threshold for making mistakes. Your second cooldown should be used on his first add wave of the phase. Pre-position out far to knock and then get into the center of the room to maximize DPS.

In phase three, dodge the tornados and lines and stack up for each Apocalypse Roar Icon Apocalypse Roar. If you are doing a seed, make sure you drop it and do not let it get hit by any boss mechanics, and then pick it back up afterward.

On Mythic, save Primordial Arcanic Pulsar Icon Primordial Arcanic Pulsar for add sets in phase 2. cooldown usage should be on pull and then either at the start of phase 2 or on the first add set of phase 2. You can use cooldowns early but that comes at risk of being stunned by the Shadow Cages from the Shadow Infernal.

This is a damage-intensive fight, utilize your own personals and potentially  an external if needed for progression. See how Beacon of Light Icon Beacon of Light is being  used as it should most likely go on a Hunter or Balance Druid for this type of  fight.

For more information, please refer to our Tindral guide.
