Restoration Shaman Healing Amirdrassil Raid Guide — Season 4
On this page, you will find tips, tricks, and strategies tailored to your Restoration Shaman for each boss of the following raid: Amirdrassil. All our content is updated for World of Warcraft — Season 4.
Introduction
In this section, you will find detailed information about each Amirdrassil boss. This page assumes that you already understand most of the mechanics of each encounter. These can be found on the full raid guide, so what is contained here are details specifically tailored toward Restoration Shaman and how you can deal with each fight as best as possible.
Raid Talents for Restoration Shaman
In a raid setting, you want to prioritize raid healing talents, which often means taking Chain Heal talents, such as High Tide and Tidebringer. Feel free to experiment with builds, as the current tier set provides general buffs which will work fine with any talent build.
Support talents such as Wind Shear and Gust of Wind will be recommended on a boss-by-boss basis below, so make sure to check out our talent import strings if you are struggling with a specific boss!
Be sure to make use of the 'Copy Export String' button to import the build directly into your game!
Gnarlroot
You can import our recommended talent tree for this Boss directly into the game by copying the following string:
- BgQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQIRSiSCplk0kU0okkSQQJBAINJppkIIJRSQLA
Depending on how much crowd control is required on Tainted Lashers (and Tainted Treants in Mythic) and how much boss damage there is, you may want to spec into Thundershock or the regular Thunderstorm, in order to help CC or group up adds.
Tips
- Make sure you have as many healing cooldowns available as possible for Uprooted Agony phases, as incoming damage is very high. Players with the Ember-Charred debuff will be in particular danger;
- The number one priority in this fight is using Controlled Burn to awaken Tainted Lashers to prevent being overwhelmed by them in P2. Gust of Wind, Ghost Wolf, Spiritwalker's Grace, and Wind Rush Totem are all helpful, and also while setting fire to the roots in the intermissions;
- Use Capacitor Totem, Earthbind Totem, and Thunderstorm (if specced) to help control adds;
- Mythic: Make sure you interrupt Tainted Treant, control them as needed, and spread out more due to Pollen Burn, especially if you get it yourself!
For more information, please refer to our Gnarlroot guide.
Igira the Cruel
You can import our recommended talent tree for this Boss directly into the game by copying the following string:
- BgQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQIRSiSCplk0kU0okkSQQJBAINJppkIIJRSQLA
Tips
- Blistering Spear should be placed close to each other, but use a defensive if in close proximity of two or more other players also dropping these!
- If you are soaking Marked for Torment in the intermissions, make sure to use Wind Rush Totem and Spiritwalker's Grace as you will need to continually move away from the swirlies on the ground;
- Use healing cooldowns to heal through Umbral Destruction and Heart Stopper's absorbs;
- Mythic: The same mechanics apply in Mythic, but in a much more deadlier fashion, as you will be dealing with two weapons every phase instead of one.
For more information, please refer to our Igira guide.
Volcoross
You can import our recommended talent tree for this Boss directly into the game by copying the following string:
- BgQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQIRSiSCplk0kU0okkSQQJBAINJppkIIJRSQLA
Tips
- Avoid getting hit by the boss' tail slam (where the big shadow will appear), as it will one-shot you. Make sure you move away from it, as the slam will also send out magma blobs;
- Use Wind Rush Totem to help your group position for soaking Flood of the Firelands and away from it;
- Move away from people with Coiling Flames and away from other people if you get it;
- Try having as many healing cooldowns as possible for the final part of the fight where Boss casts Serpent's Fury;
- Mythic: Coiling Flames will now explode and need to be soaked when they are close to expiring, make sure to prioritize this mechanic!
For more information, please refer to our Volcoross guide.
Council of Dreams
You can import our recommended talent tree for this Boss directly into the game by copying the following string:
- BgQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQIRSiSCplk0kU0okkSQQJBAINJppkIIJRSQLA
Tips
- Considering mass-removing Poisonous Javelin with Poison Cleansing Totem, but be careful of using it too fast, as the dispelled targets explode, hitting any other nearby players;
- Don't stand in front of the bear boss unless you are soaking Barreling Charge, in which case you should use a defensive;
- Remember to Polymorph Bomb the bear boss once he gets to 100 energy, as otherwise he will do raid damage until your group wipes. You can safely remove your duck form by soaking any flower patches in the ground, but be careful of doing it nearby other players, as that will convert them into ducks, instead!
- Mythic: The main mechanical difference is that two bosses use their 100 energy abilities simultaneously instead of one. Overall, you will still handle those mechanics equally, just making the fight more hectic.
Larodar, Keeper of the Flame
You can import our recommended talent tree for this Boss directly into the game by copying the following string:
- BgQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQIRSiSCplk0kU0okkSQQJBAINJppkIIJRSQLA
Tips
- Prioritize healing the Charred Treants as they appear on your boss frames, you can use area of effect healing as they are likely to be close enough to all be hit at once;
- After they are doused and killed, you should heal the Charred Brambles as well, as that will provide a protection area for Raging Inferno, You will still want to use healing cooldowns during this ability, regardless, as it does heavy damage;
- The largest raid damage will come after 3 casts of Raging Inferno, as the Boss will cast Consuming Flame to deal huge damage over 16 seconds. Make sure you are prepared with Spirit Link Totem and other cooldowns;
- After the damage is over, the second phase begins. It is a soft enrage burn phase, and you will want to Bloodlust and use anything left before the raid is killed by the ramping damage;
- Mythic: Use defensives and go as far from the raid as you can when targeted by Ashen Devastation. Wind Rush Totem can help everyone spread out quickly.
For more information, please refer to our Larodar guide.
Nymue, Weaver of the Cycle
You can import our recommended talent tree for this Boss directly into the game by copying the following string:
- BgQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQIRSiSCplk0kU0okkSQQJBAINJppkIIJRSQLA
Tips
- Use defensives and healing cooldowns during Continuum and Viridian Rain, especially later into the fight;
- You cannot Gust of Wind or otherwise jump over Verdant Matrix lines and Impending Loom beams, as that will still stun and give you debuff stacks!
- Mythic: Make sure Ephemeral Floras are soaked as quickly as possible.
For more information, please refer to our Nymue guide.
Smolderon
You can import our recommended talent tree for this Boss directly into the game by copying the following string:
- BgQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAQIRSiSCplk0kU0okkSQQJBAINJppkIIJRSQLA
Tips
- Half the raid will spread and expel Overheated flame waves, while the other half will have to soak Brand of Damnation, alternating between each phase;
- Remember that you are the only one able to collect the Ignited Essence orbs released by your Emberscar's Mark debuff, doing so will give you a large healing buff!
- During the intermission dance, be prepared to use any of your mobility tricks, including a Warlock's Demonic Gateway, Wind Rush Totem, Gust of Wind, and Spiritwalker's Grace.

You can import our recommended talent tree for this Boss directly into the game by copying the following string:

This fight includes Dragon Riding, and the flying needed can be tight, especially in Mythic difficulty, so if you are having any difficulties, make sure to complete all the races and challenges, as these are good practice.
Tips
- Use healing cooldowns to deal with the high raid damage caused by Mass Entanglement. While you can remove it with Spirit Walk, doing so will spawn adds;
- Only dispel Fiery Growth once the player is out of the raid;
- Wind Rush Totem is helpful in several parts of the fight as movement can be tight, for example, while dodging swirlies after roots are destroyed, or for tanks to soak Blazing Mushrooms;
- In phase 2, the number one priority is stomping all the mushrooms and healing players afflicted by Suppressive Ember.
For more information, please refer to our Tindral guide.
