Most Popular Classes and Specializations in Shadowlands on Icy Veins

Recommended Posts

plUInLQ.jpeg

With Shadowlands now live for a couple of days, we're looking at how popular each specialization is based on what players are looking up on Icy Veins.

Welcome to our first Shadowlands preview of specialization popularity in Shadowlands. All the data was gathered based on what the user base looks up on the site. We compare the results with the Shadowlands pre-patch popularity data posted a while ago.

  • If a specialization lost a position, you would see a red () next to its rank, so if you see, let's say 3. (1), it means a class has fallen from rank 1 to 3.
  • If a specialization gained positions, you would see a green () next to its rank.
  • If a specialization remains in the same position, it will have a (→) next to its rank.

Most Popular DPS Specializations in Shadowlands

We are highlighting changes in DPS spec popularity based on our previous DPS rankingsShadow Priest are now the most popular DPS specialization, followed by Frost MagesBeast Mastery Hunters lost two ranks. Frost Death Knights lost a whopping 7 ranks and dropped from 2nd to 9th position. The least popular DPS specialization are Demonology Warlocks that swapped places with Survival Hunters.

Having a blast on feral druid, especially with the night fae "convoke the spirits" ability. Surprised it's so low in rankings here.

Also enjoying Guardian Druid a lot, no issues tanking in heroics at all.

Not sure information gathering process is most sound for this one but kinda interesting

Yea it's mostly just to see what people are interested in, it's not really an overview of what specs are popular in the game, just here. So maybe it's more of a "what classes are people looking to play better" type thing  ?

its not a tier list, its a "what are ppl looking up on here" list.so not strength, but rather how many ppl are interested in what this specific website says about how a particular spec is played

Imho it is hard to break it down to specific interest. Just giving an example:

If i am talking with mates on Discord or Teamspeak, we talk about classes here and there and i am checking multiple sites while we are talking and also for classes and / or speccs i usually dont play myself. Im looking up information for other people at this point.

  • Thanks 1

Reddit user Bonelord911 tried to organize all specializations by their alignment to the cosmology chart and here's the result!
There's just one slight inconsistency as ItisCaleb and Evonyte pointed out. Monks should be at Spirit, close to reality, since the Chi is a Spirit element according to the Chronicles.

The individual items that comprise the Dark Ranger General's transmog set have been added in the latest Patch 10.2.5 build. The armor set allows players to resemble Sylvanas Windrunner.
Hunters will probably be happy with the addition of the Dark Ranger General's armor set! Here's a preview of the set. At this time, the source of the ensemble remains unknown. It is possibly tied to the Gilnean Reclamation or Trading Post, we'll see.

Blizzard added a new Night Elf child model in this week's Patch 10.2.5 build.
The model is used NPCs that have moved to Bel'ameth and Belanaar harbor, as indicated in the latest development notes.

      BEL’AMETH
Many Night Elves are now starting to arrive in Bel’ameth and Belanaar harbor to settle in their new homes. In addition to these new hubs, explore other areas across the island to find new night elf cosmetic treasures. Here's a detailed look at the new model. The model looks a bit creepy and the feet are somewhat low texture. Hopefully this will get fixed in a future build.

For more details about the new Night Elf home, check the detailed zone preview by MrGM. Did you know Bel'ameth is a neutral city? Even Horde players can enter!

This week's Patch 10.2.5 build brought an updated map of Amirdrassil.
We're talking about the non-phased Amirdrassil zone available to everyone in the latest update. For comparison, here's the old map from the previous PTR build.

And here's the updated map from this week's Patch 10.2.5 build. Bel'ameth has been marked on the map along with other areas like Belanaar port.

Amirdrassil has also been added to the world map in the previous PTR build.

The new Night Elf home Bel'aneth added in Patch 10.2.5 is a neutral city. However, Horde players who enter the city will see a debuff informing them that they are being watched.
The debuff's name is Eyes of the Sentinels and the tooltip reads: Seen and unseen eyes alike are watching your every move.
