Torghast Capped at 72 in Current Alpha + Many Videos

Recommended Posts

As alpha players have been running through Torghast over and over, we got some new info on the current implementation of the tower. DesMephisto, who you'll remember from the speed leveling to 50 in 12 hours and doing an all warrior Ny'alotha clear, has been pushing the tower and managed to get to the "final" level, sharing that Blizzard have capped it at 72 for the current alpha. Torghast is supposed to be endless on release, but it makes sense for them to put a limit on it for now, as testing has just begun. You can check out DesMephisto's entire run/runs below, as he gathers up 99 Anima powers along the way and gets Bonked at the end.

You can also check out our own preview of the tower right here.

There are plenty more videos and impressions from players, with opinions being overwhelmingly positive, as many players say this might be the best new addition to WoW in a long time. We've chosen a few videos based on class diversity, so you can see more PoVs, but the above one is really your best bet to see the entirety of the experience.

And here are a few more direct stream rips, for those of you that REALLY want to know everything there is about Torghast right now!! We start with Dratnos, who's casted the Race to World First for Limit and works with Method as well, and has plenty of insight to share on the tower, so he's probably your best bet when it comes to pure information about the systems etc:

And then there's World Raid Champion Complexity Limit mage and officer Preheat:

And here's Sloot with yet another Vengeance Demon Hunter:

So far Torghast has been quite the hit, as players are heading in both in groups and solo, trying out various classes available on the beta now, and everyone wanting to go back in immediately. Considering this is just the beginning and the tower will see a lot more polish and tuning to come, it's definitely a great sign for Shadowlands.

It seems the recent improvements in communication with the community are continuing, as Blizzard has started sending out thank you notes to players on the PTR!
Players are receiving emails with thank you notes for their testing of patch 9.1.5 on the PTR with some fun stats in it, like the number of bugs the player personally submitted, as well as the total and unique number of bugs being reported:
Have been in PTR for a while but never gotten anything like this. Is it a common thing? Still good to know how many bugs I reported - although it doesn't say how many were addressed, which I'd say is the actual useful info I'd like to get

      Source: True_Elderberry_6450.
We haven't seen something likee this outside of Alpha tester emails, so it's a very nice addition to the PTR landscape and might hopefully encourage more players to report bugs. The "bugs addressed" suggestion isn't ever going to happen, as not all bugs can be fixed in time, and no developer really wants to pull attention to that. Regardless of that, this is still a pretty good step forward in community communication and hopefully Blizzard can improve even more on that front in the future.
And in case you thought only the "big bug reporters" got a note, you'd be wrong!

Blizzard recently changed two in-game paintings on the 9.1.5 PTR, due to their sexualized nature, and the choice of what to replace one of them with has been the focus of a lot of community jokes and memes. While one painting simply got a visual texture quality upgrade and some more clothing, the second got a little more extreme treatment:
The WoW community took this change as a challenge to get creative and came up with a lot of different interpretations of the decision, as well as some very specific predictions for what this could mean for the future of the game. We start off with how a player imagined the new painting occurred:
Then there's also some slightly less impressive ones:

And then there are the predictions for what this might mean for the future:
LEAKED Updated Female Character Models for 9.1.5

I can't wait to log in tomorrow when Blizzard fixed sexism in the workplace

And finally there's the very large thread on the matter, with many comments on the situation:

Another crazy fast time for Gitoff in the never-ending Torghast layer 12 speed runs! We've seen a flawless layer 12 in under 4 minutes and a non-flawless one in under 3, but now Gitoff has beaten their own non-flawless record by over a minute, finishing in 1:50!! Huge congrats and now it is really becoming questionable whether it's even doable faster!
