Zaralek Caverns Dragonriding Races (10.1.5)

Zaralek Cavern has 6 races; below we will detail some tips and tricks for each race along with a video showing each race completed on both Normal, Advanced and Reverse difficulties with a gold timer.

• Advanced Only: After the second ring, go down and pick up the Vigor node.
• Advanced and Reverse: You can Surge Forward through the Arcane Orbs and not be stunned.

• There is a point just over halfway through the race where you have the option of going through a narrow gap or around the pillar. It will be faster to go through the gap, but if you mess up the angle, you will land and lose all speed.
• Advanced Only: If you launch up on your drake as you accept the race you will start in the air. During the countdown for the race, use all of your Vigor on Surge Forward and you will be at max speed for the start of the race. As an added bonus, all of your Vigor will reset at the start of the race. This can be seen in the video below.
• Advanced Only: You do not need to be mindful of your Vigor usage on Advanced as there are plenty of Vigor nodes!
• Advanced and Reverse: You can Surge Forward through the Arcane Orbs and not be stunned.
• Reverse Only: The technique to start at full speed may not work here because of your new starting position.

• Advanced and Reverse: If you launch up on your drake as you accept the race you will start in the air. During the countdown for the race, use all of your Vigor on Surge Forward and you will be at max speed for the start of the race. As an added bonus, all of your Vigor will reset at the start of the race. This can be seen in the video below.
• Advanced and Reverse: Be mindful of the lava orbs shooting up as they can kill your momentum.
• Advanced and Reverse: Be mindful of the mound of lava in the Zaqali area. Flying into this will make you lose all momentum.

• Advanced Only: Just over half way through the race there will be a Vigor node to your right away from the path. Pick this up to have enough Vigor to use Whirling Surge.
• Advanced and Reverse: You will be starved for Vigor on this course. Make sure you pick up every Vigor node on the course as you go through it.
• Advanced and Reverse: The launch up before the race speed boost tech as described on previous races should be possible here as well.

• Advanced and Reverse: If you launch up on your drake as you accept the race you will start in the air. During the countdown for the race, use all of your Vigor on Surge Forward and you will be at max speed for the start of the race.
