Zhongli Best Teams and Team Compositions

Arlecchino is one of the best DPS characters to pair with Zhongli. Since Arlecchino cannot be healed normally during combat, Zhongli's strong shield becomes extremely valuable for keeping her safe during her damage window. Zhongli also provides 20% Pyro RES Shred and can hold Tenacity of the Millelith to further increase her damage.

Zhongli is highly valuable in Dendro teams because Dendro has fewer universal resistance shred options compared to other elements. Zhongli can reduce enemy Dendro RES by 20%, making him useful with characters such as Nefer, Kinich, Alhaitham, and even Hyperbloom teams.

He can also hold Deepwood Memories if the team needs an additional source of Dendro RES Shred, giving him strong utility in Dendro-focused team compositions.

Zhongli is especially useful in Geo teams thanks to his shield, Geo RES Shred, and off-field Geo application. His value has also increased in Lunar-Crystallize teams, where off-field Geo application and Geo constructs can help trigger additional reaction damage.

Zibai can use Zhongli as a solid Geo teammate for Lunar-Crystallize setups. While he is not as strong as newer dedicated Geo supports such as Linnea or Illuga, he remains a strong comfort option. Navia also benefits from Zhongli as a second Geo character to help generate Crystallize shards and improve her consistency.

Physical DPS characters also benefit greatly from Zhongli. Physical damage has fewer strong buffing and resistance shred options compared to many elemental damage types, making Zhongli's universal 20% RES Shred very valuable. His shield also allows Physical DPS characters to continue their combos without interruption.

Zhongli is extremely valuable for Charged Attack bow users such as Ganyu, Lyney, and Tighnari. These characters are vulnerable while aiming or charging attacks, so Zhongli's shield greatly improves comfort and consistency by preventing interruption during their damage windows.
