Game Mechanics Updates

EOFA880Q4XOL1527012946338.png

  • Continued updates to game event timing to make card interactions more intuitive. Read our previous Game Mechanics Updates blog for more insight!
  • Counterspell beats whenever and after triggers.
  • Summon and Play triggers are now evaluated using their in-hand stats before they are affected by board modifiers and their Battlecry.
  • Minions that enter the battlefield without being played from hand will have any (Whenever or After) summon triggers evaluated before board modifiers are applied.
  • Choose One minions that Transform now consider their transformation effects before entering play.

Arena Updates

JLWJBHNPWC3Z1527012946149.png

  • Added several new pick “buckets” for non-Legendary cards and two for Legendary cards.
  • The new buckets are halfway in power between the existing buckets, and they’re intended to create more varied choices when drafting an Arena deck.
  • The very strongest and very weakest cards do not appear in these new buckets, so those cards will appear as picks about half as frequently as they did previously.

Evil Twin Greetings

  • When players with the same hero (except Death Knights) greet each other, new emotes will play!

Added the following card backs:

  • Back in Blue – Acquired from winning five games in Ranked Play, June 2018.

  • Lightforged – Acquired from winning five games in Ranked Play, July 2018.

Bug Fixes and Gameplay Improvements

Monster Hunt

  • Shaw's Shank now correctly counts minions that have taken damage equal to their unbuffed Health.
  • Alternate Timeline no longer resets Infinite Toki’s Health to full when played by a player.
  • Frostmourne will now correctly summon minions that it destroyed before using Toki’s Temporal Loop Hero Power when its Deathrattle triggers.
  • Pillage the Fallen treasure now triggers when Sword of Justice expends its last durability.

Is it a big nerf? I’ve seen her so rarely I have no idea what percentage of the time she kills/silences herself. Wouldn’t have thought it’d be all that common though. Being able to replay hero cards is presumably generally good.

If she replay hero cards instead of replaying rogue cards after you play them seems a good buff, also I've never seen her kill herself since unlike Yogg cards played aren't random and you don't play Pyroblast or such before her

Nice unexpected patch ^^

The Bundle is sadly a waste when you have no interest in the 3 older expansions.

It seems to be nice for newer players but it's bad imo. Even if you spend $/€ 80 to get 10 bundles you get 20 of each set, with "luck" you won't a single legend. Definitely less than when buying a lot of pack from one set only(on average, ofc you could get lucky). At least I think players who consider buying those should think about this.

Looks a bit like a "Keep buying" trap. But clearly a very good deal for those who don't care about money and just buy a lot of the bundles.

The rest of the patch looks good, now everyone is hoping to not get a "4 common, 1 rare" Golden Classic Pack 😄

Those bundles mate... I just burnt through my BfA gold stash buying 16 of them! Damn you blizz! The second I start stockpiling you tempt me! Oh well, easy come, easy go. I did get a golden Arf-Arf to go with my golden Lich King.

Yeah I could have brought a single expansion and likely gotten more legendaries, but I wanted to pick up a few cards from the older ones as well as classic so it was worth it for me.

If they shift the . in the price by one to the left I buy some packs.

The additional rewards are very nice - sadly I am on vacation most of the time. And I'll miss the 260 dust pack 😞

I just realized that the "fixes" to the cards are actual nerfs, minor ones but still. Calling them fixes plays well around giving players the option to disenchant them for full dust value. If that was on purpose it really sucks.

I would not dis. my Tess (weak but cool ^^) but it's just wrong to make cards worse and not refund the players who may have invested into it and just calling it fixes.

Is it me or the bundle is not worth it ?

First of all, you're getting packs that rotate in a few months, so you get less out of them. Then you are actually not advancing the pity timer by more than 2 cards (it's separate for each pack type), so the chance of getting a legendary from them is actually lower than if you just by 10 packs from a single type.

And for me (and other Hearthstone veteran players) the classic packs are worthess. I have the entire Classic collection, and I would imagine that everyone who has played for a few years has it, or has everything that they may need from it, without the joke cards (Millhouse/Lorewalker/etc).

If they would offer a bundle similar like this when the 3rd set of the year of the raven has been released it could be interesting like "Classic, Witchwood, 2nd set and 3rd set", a price adjustment would be needed because it would be only 8 packs. Then it could be ok, still the problem with spreading it out makes it unlikely to get legends and most likely less epics too.
