Cryo Traveler's Best Teams & Character Synergies

Welcome to our Cryo Traveler team composition guide and character synergies overview for Genshin Impact. In this guide, we'll explore the best teams to build for Cryo Traveler, including recommended characters, character synergies, and team compositions to help Cryo Traveler reach their full damage potential.

Best Pairings and Synergies With Cryo Traveler

Cryo Traveler has 2 main playstyles, either as an on-field DPS in Stellar-Conduct teams, or as an off-field Burst DPS in Stellar-Swirl teams. When played in Stellar-Conduct teams as an on-field DPS, Traveler can be pretty decent, especially when paired with characters such as Yae Miko or Odette. In Stellar-Swirl teams, Cryo Traveler can be a great off-field and Burst DPS, although these teams usually work best with Yumemizuki Mizuki.

1.

Stellar-Swirl Teams

Yumemizuki Mizuki
Yumemizuki Mizuki

In Stellar-Swirl teams, Cryo Traveler will be used to enable the Stellar Reactions, apply off-field Cryo through their Elemental Skill, and swap in to deal DMG through their Burst and Charged Attack. Yumemizuki Mizuki in such teams can be used on-field and deal large amounts of Stellar-Swirl DMG.

Odette Sucrose
Stellar-Swirl Party Members

A second Cryo character is often recommended for Stellar-Swirl teams, as they can provide additional off-field Cryo and provide buffs to Stellar Reactions.

  • Odette is often the best option for this slot, for her consistent off-field Cryo and can contribute to a portion of the team's damage as she can deal direct Stellar DMG while also providing party members with Stellar DMG bonus.
  • Qiqi, Escoffier, or Diona can also work in the second Cryo slot although not necessarily as strong as Odette can be.

A second Anemo is also recommended to use, as additional off-field Anemo can help trigger Stellar-Swirl more often, and stack the Vortex effect. A second Anemo character can also equip the Viridescent Venerer to reduce enemy RES and allow Yumemizuki Mizuki to equip the Scarlet Proof set.

  • Sucrose is often the best option for this slot, as she can provide Elemental Mastery buffs to the team.
  • Faruzan is a decent alternative for this slot, as Faruzan can reduce the enemy's Anemo resistance, greatly increasing Stellar-Swirl DMG.
  • Other off-field Anemo characters such as Kaedehara Kazuha or Venti can also work in this slot, although they often do not provide meaningful additions to Stellar-Swirl teams aside from off-field Anemo.
2.

Stellar-Conduct Teams

Odette Qiqi Diona
Cryo Party Members in Stellar-Conduct and Stellar-Swirl Teams
  • Odette is currently the best overall option for this slot, as she can deal decent off-field damage while also providing Stellar DMG buffs.
  • Escoffier is a decent alternative for Stellar-Conduct teams, as Escoffier can apply off-field Cryo to stack the Stellar-Conduct buff, deal damage, and heal through her Burst.
  • Qiqi is another viable option, especially as a Standard Banner character. Qiqi is a healer who can increase Stellar DMG through her Skill and also deal Stellar DMG through her Burst.
  • Diona is a 4-Star character who can be a solid option for Stellar teams, especially at C6, where Diona provides Stellar DMG and increases Elemental Mastery.
Yae Miko Alyosha Beidou
Electro Party Members in Stellar-Conduct Teams
  • Yae Miko is currently the best Electro option for Stellar-Conduct teams, as Yae Miko can deal Stellar-Conduct DMG and apply off-field Electro through her Skill, contributing to the team's overall damage. Yae Miko's C1 can also increase Stellar-Conduct DMG, greatly increasing her value.
  • Alyosha is a 4-Star character who also works well in Stellar-Conduct teams. Alyosha can heal while also providing ATK and Stellar-Conduct DMG buffs to the team. At C6, Alyosha's buffs greatly increase, and he also provides Elemental Mastery to the team. At C0, Alyosha is not recommended as a solo Electro character and does not become a direct upgrade over third Cryo party members such as Escoffier, Qiqi, or Diona until at least C2.
  • Beidou can be a decent 4-Star alternative for an off-field Electro character. With her C6, Beidou can also provide buffs by reducing Cryo and Electro RES and providing an Elemental Mastery buff to your active character. As a solo Electro, a C6 Beidou can outperform a C0 Alyosha.
Sucrose Nicole Xilonen
Additional Party Members
  • In Stellar-Conduct teams, the party-wide ATK buff that Nicole can provide makes her a decent option to use instead of an Electro or Cryo character.
  • Sucrose can be a decent option to use for both Stellar-Conduct and especially Stellar-Swirl teams, as Sucrose can provide Elemental Mastery buffs to the team.
  • Xilonen can potentially work in either Stellar-Conduct or Stellar-Swirl teams, as Xilonen reduces enemy Elemental RES to your party's Elements, which can increase Stellar DMG.
Sandrone
Sandrone Main DPS teams

Sandrone can be used alongside Cryo Traveler in Stellar teams. This is mostly seen in Stellar-Swirl teams, where Sandrone essentially replaces Yumemizuki Mizuki as the main on-field DPS. This team can be viable but is hindered by the lack of an Anemo character who can provide consistent off-field Anemo and buffs to the team.

Stellar-Conduct teams can also work, although both Sandrone and Cryo Traveler prefer being on-field in such teams, which can result in conflicting rotations where on-field time is split. Better results are often observed when each character is in their own Main DPS team.

Cryo Traveler's Best Team Compositions

Listed below are a range of team compositions we recommend you use with Cryo Traveler. Their best teams, however, can depend both on what boss you are against as well as how you have built them. The inclusion or exclusion of any given team does not necessarily reflect their overall power; for example, some F2P teams may also be present.
