Cyno Best Teams and Team Compositions
Cyno is a 5-Star Electro Polearm user in Genshin Impact who deals powerful damage using his alternate form from his Elemental Burst. This guide will focus on Cyno's best builds, artifacts, weapons and best team compositions.
Cyno's Best Teams & Character Synergies
Welcome to our Cyno team composition guide and character synergies overview for Genshin Impact. In this guide, we'll explore the best teams to build for Cyno, including recommended characters, character synergies, and Team Compositions to help Cyno reach his full damage potential.
Best Pairings and Synergies With Cyno
Cyno works best when paired with a character that can enable the Stellar-Conduct reaction, as his damage is far higher in these teams. He will want a teammate with off-field Cryo application here, and supports that can buff his Stellar-Conduct damage as much as possible.
Since Cyno can enter his Pactsworn Pathsworn state via his Elemental Skill after his buffs in patch 6.7, he no longer requires a second Electro unit for Energy, but still has good synergy with some.
Currently Sandrone is the only way to enable the Stellar-Conduct reaction, so she will be needed if you want to use Cyno in these teams now. However, she is also a main DPS with no other synergy with Cyno, so it is not recommended to pull her for this, as there will be more characters to enable the reaction in the future, and they will likely have much better synergy with Cyno.
Strong support option at C6, providing a large Elemental Mastery buff alongside some RES Shred. She also provides good defensive utility with her damage reduction and interruption resistance buffs, and even a small Shield.
Great buffing potential with Cyno here, since Cyno can now swap freely to have her buffs refreshed. At C1, Cyno can also pass his 200 Elemental Mastery buff to her, making her own buff that much larger. She will also provide the team with a third Element to use Ballad of the Fjords.
Provides a large Elemental Mastery buff that Cyno will make great use out of. The Dendro application will also let him trigger Aggravate, while still having Stellar-Conduct. Since he will be triggering Aggravate, Cyno will also be able to use things like Thundering Fury and Gilded Dreams. He will also have a third Element to use Ballad of the Fjords.
Ineffa enables the Lunar-Charged reaction, which deals damage based on each characters CRIT and Elemental Mastery. These are both stats that Cyno builds high amounts of. At the same time, Ineffa will deal tremendous damage of her own from off-field, while providing a high amount of Electro particles for Cyno, buffing his Elemental Mastery via her Burst, and has a decently strong Shield to cover the sustain slot. Furthermore, her abilities all have high uptime for Cyno’s long rotations.
Like Ineffa, Columbina enables and buffs Lunar-Charged, while providing the Hydro needed to trigger the reaction. Pairing Columbina and Ineffa together results in great buffing for Lunar-Charged while they both deal excellent damage from off-field. This will also enable Ascendant Gleam, allowing Cyno to use Night of the Sky's Unveiling, and allow a support to use Silken Moon's Serenade for more buffing.
In teams where Ineffa isn't viable, or if you don't have her available, Fischl is generally the best second Electro option, thanks to her good off-field damage and particle generation.
If playing Lunar-Charged and Columbina isn't available, a different Hydro unit should be used. If using a Healer, Furina will be good, as her abilities have long durations, and she buffs DMG %, which is a stat Cyno tends to lack. Xingqiu can be a strong option if using a Dendro support such as Lauma as his fast Hydro application will result in a high amount of Hyperblooms. Yelan is also a good option, but her slower Hydro application and shorter duration makes her less ideal than Xingqiu.
A surprisingly good support for Cyno in Lunar-Charged teams. Even without Hexerei: Secret Rite, he can deal good damage, as he will be triggering both Vaporize and Overload, and will also provide RES Shred.
If using Hyperbloom, Lauma is by far the best Dendro option, providing excellent buffs to all Bloom reactions. She applies Dendro at 2 second intervals, which is enough to still get Lunar-Charged with Hydro appliers like Xingqiu and Furina, but not enough with Columbina. Lauma will also provide Ascendant Gleam when paired with Ineffa. Note that if using Lauma with Furina, it is recommended to have Lauma's Constellation 1 for healing.
Sucrose is a good option for Lunar-Charged, as she provides teamwide Elemental Mastery buffs and can lower enemy resistance with the 4pc Viridescent Venerer set effect. However, Cyno’s long field time results in Sucrose's buff uptime not being great here, so Durin is superior to her for this team slot.
If your team consists entirely of Electro and Pyro units, Chevreuse provides excellent buffs with great uptime. This makes Overload a viable team option for Cyno, trading reaction damage for much higher raw Electro damage. With the release of the new Hexerei support in 6.6, Overload is now one of if not Cyno's strongest overall team archetype.
Alternatively, instead of using Chevreuse, Cyno's Overload teams can use Dendro. This will allow him to be the one triggering Overload, which he normally isn't. He will also be able to trigger Aggravate at the same time. Emilie is the best option thanks to her great damage. Nahida is the next best option, providing a decent Elemental Mastery buff.
The best second Electro for Cyno in Overload teams. She will deal great damage of her own from off-field. She's also a Hexerei character, and will help enable Hexerei: Secret Rite for more buffs from herself and other Hexerei characters on the team like Durin as well as Celestial Gift.
A surprisingly good second Electro option for Cyno. He won't maintain her max ATK buff, but has enough movement to get a decent amount from it still. Along with that, she provides Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City as a powerful buff that lasts long enough for Cyno's rotations.
Durin is a perfect teammate for Cyno in Overload teams. He'll be buffed by Chevreuse, allowing him to deal great damage from off-field, while providing RES Shred. On top of that, if there is a second Hexerei unit on the team like Fischl or Nicole, either Durin or the other Hexerei unit can use Celestial Gift for much more buffing.
The attack buffs Nicole provides, along with Celestial Gift make her a fantastic buffer for Cyno in Overload. She also has one of the strongest and longest lasting Shields in the entire game. However, she has no off-field Pyro application to sustain Chevreuse's RES Shred. Because of this, she is competing with Fischl and Chevreuse for a team slot. Replacing Fischl requires using much more Energy Recharge on Cyno. And Nicole needs to be at least Constellation 1 to be a stronger buffer than Chevreuse. But from C1 and onwards, she is fantastic here.

Listed below are a range of team compositions we recommend you use with Cyno. His best teams, however, can depend on both what boss you are against as well as how you have built him. The inclusion or exclusion of any given team does not necessarily reflect overall power. For example, some F2P teams may also be present.
