On this page, you will find out the best PvE talent choices and builds for your Retribution Paladin in WoW Forever.
Retribution Paladin Talent Builds for World of Warcraft: Forever
On this page we will discuss the best Retribution Paladin talent options for
PvE content. With strong talents in all three talent trees that can enhance your
damage output, there are two different build archetypes that seem to perform the
best for Retribution Paladin. The Seal Twisting build goes deep into the Retribution tree to
pick up
Twist of Light and picks up supporting talents to empower this playstyle.
The Shockadin build instead goes into the Holy tree to pick up
Holy Shock, along
with picking up almost all talents in the Retribution tree to support this archetype build.
Seal Twisting Talent Build
This build focuses on enhancing your physical damage as well as your spell damage
by taking most of the talents in the Retribution tree that increase your direct damage output.
All remaining points go into the Holy tree to increase your base stats, and we also
pick up
Improved Seals for more damage and
Reverence for some
Mana sustain.
Seal Twisting Optional Talents
When playing a Seal Twisting build you have a handful of talent options you can switch out, depending on your situation. Some will enhance your damage a bit more when you are still gearing your character, while others are better options to support your group in Raids when needed.
- If you are lacking enough Hit chance on your gear to hit the Melee Hit cap
of 8% you will probably gain a bit of damage and consistency by dropping
Divine Intellect and
Reverence to path through
Toughness
to reach
Precision for 3% more Hit chance.
- If your Raid does not have a Warrior or a Feral Druid Tank that can apply
Demoralizing Shout
or
Demoralizing Roar you might need to drop a point in
Instrument of Law to take a
third point in
Vindication. This will require you to time your
Hammer of Wrath in
execute to happen just after your melee swings, and cost you a small amount of damage.
Shockadin Talent Build
The Shockadin build goes a bit deeper into the Holy tree, picking up
Holy Shock and
Consecrated Ground, while still going
deep enough into the Retribution tree to talent into
Champion of the Light.
Shockadins focus more on taking talents that improve their Holy damage and
drop a handful of talents that mostly enhance Physical damage, including
Seal of Command.
Shockadin Optional Talents
The Shockadin build has a bit less room for talent swaps compared to the Seal Twisting build, because a lot of the damage is tied to key talents that you cannot do without. Below are a couple options of talent changes you might find useful depending on your situation.
- if your raid needs an Attack Power reduction and you have nobody else to provide
it through
Demoralizing Shout or
Demoralizing Shout, then
Vindication
is a solid pickup. To access Vindication you drop points from
Conviction,
costing you roughly 2-3% of your own damage.
- If you need to reduce your threat generation because you are regularly pulling aggro
from your tank, you can drop
Consecrated Ground for
Instrument of Law. This will cost you roughly 5% of your damage to reduce Threat
generation by 20%.
