Welcome to our Feral Druid Melee DPS and Tank guide for WoW Forever, tailored for PvE content. Here, you will learn how all you need to know to play the Druid class as Feral Melee DPS and Tank. Click the links #below to navigate the guide or read this page for a short introduction.

1.

Compendium of Spec Class Information for the World of Warcraft: Forever Beta

Feral Druids are masters of shapeshifting, with talents enhancing both your Bear Form Icon Bear Form and Cat Form Icon Cat Form, making Feral Druid the only specialization in WoW Forever that gives effects buffing both Tanking and playing as a DPS! Most Feral talents enhances abilities of both forms, making it an effective all-around specialization for flexing between the two roles.

Versatile, but Lacking Some Tools The Flexibility of being able to play both Tank or DPS allows Feral Druids to handle situations other classes might struggle with by switching between the two. Druids also have among the best mobility options of all classes at Level 20. However they still lack large parts of their toolkit to flesh out the gameplay, lowering performance overall slightly.
2.

Leveling Information

While leveling to Level 10 you will have to utilize the base kit of Druid, using your normal spells like Wrath Icon Wrath and Moonfire Icon Moonfire to kill enemies. This is usually not a major issue as most lower level enemies are a bit weaker relative to players. As you reach level 10 you will mainly want to level in Bear Form Icon Bear Form, using your Mana to heal yourself after killing enemies or in an emergency, and then recovering your Mana while in Bear Form Icon Bear Form.

2.1.

Professions

Feral Druid has two potentially interesting profession combos to look out for in the WoW Forever Beta.

Skinning combined with Leatherworking allows you to gather Leathers and turning it into items you can wear yourself, this can be good to fill out item slots when lacking from quest rewards.

An alternative combination is Herbalism and Alchemy which lets you create useful potions and elixirs to heal in a pinch or increase your stats for long periods of time. One major drawback is that it does not offer a way to make your own gear.

3.

Level 20 Talent Build

This build opts into putting 5 points into Ferocity Icon Ferocity, helping with both your Rage economy while leveling allowing for more Maul Icon Maul casts, and reducing your energy cost in Cat Form Icon Cat Form. It puts 2 points in Feral Swiftness for movement speed in Cat Form Icon Cat Form with the added benefit of granting increased Dodge chance in all forms. It then takes 3 points in Heart of the Wild Icon Heart of the Wild increasing your stats, a talent that becomes very potent at higher levels, but a bit less so with low level gear. It finishes up with taking Feral Charge Icon Feral Charge at Level 20.

An alternative at Level 20 is to move Feral Charge Icon Feral Charge and Heart of the Wild Icon Heart of the Wild for 4 points in Furor Icon Furor, allowing you to enter your forms with some resources.

4.

Feral Druid Spells and Rotation

Your level 20 rotation will be fairly simple since you will not have unlocked most of your kit yet. In Cat Form Icon Cat Form you will be using Claw Icon Claw as your Combo Point builder, and spending them on Rip Icon Rip when you reach 5 Combo Points.

When tanking in Bear Form Icon Bear Form you build Rage by taking damage and Auto-attacking, with Enrage Icon Enrage allowing you to generate 30 Rage over 10 seconds on a 1-minute cooldown at the cost of reducing your Armor slightly. You will spend Rage on Maul Icon Maul, or if you are tanking multiple targets you can spend it on Swipe Icon Swipe.

You can use Faerie Fire Icon Faerie Fire to reduce the Armor of targets to increase the damage they take, and buff yourself with Mark of the Wild Icon Mark of the Wild and Thorns Icon Thorns to increase your own power. If you need healing you can always leave your form and cast healing spells on yourself, and use Nature's Grasp Icon Nature's Grasp or Entangling Roots Icon Entangling Roots to root enemies so you can run to safety.

5.

Level 20 Gear, Stat Priority, and Consumables

While leveling and doing content by yourself a higher priority is placed on Armor and Stamina, which usually are more plenty on higher level items. Strength adds more damage than Agility while Spirit allows you to regen more Mana while fighting enemies meaning you have better means to heal yourself up when needed. Intellect does very little for Feral Druid and is significantly below the other stats in value.

Additional stats that affect your gameplay are Hit Chance, which increases the chance for your attacks and spells to hit enemies, and Critical Strike Chance, which gives a chance to double the damage of attacks. These stats usually only appear on items obtained at later stages of the game and are very powerful.

The stat priority looks something like the following:

Hit
Crit
Strength
Stamina
Agility
Spirit
5.1.

Consumables

Some of the more useful consumables available will be potions and elixirs made by Alchemists. Healing potions like Lesser Healing Potion can save your life in an emergency, and elixirs like Elixir of Lion's Strength increases your stats, making you deal more damage or be more durable depending on the elixir.

Food crafted by players with Cooking will be able to give extra stats as well as an experience buff when eaten. This makes stocking up on food extra good. Buffs that give Stamina, Strength or Spirit can be very useful when leveling or doing dungeons with friends!
