First Aid is a secondary crafting profession in WoW Forever used to create bandages, potions, and anti-venoms.
First Aid Profession Overview and Leveling Guide in WoW Forever
First Aid is a secondary profession that lets you make bandages, healing potions, and remedies for harmful effects. This guide explains how to use First Aid, where to learn each rank, how to level from 1 to 300, and which recipes and campfire items are available in WoW Forever.
What Is First Aid?
First Aid turns cloth, herbs, and other materials into consumables that restore health or remove certain harmful effects. As a secondary profession, you can learn it alongside both of your primary professions and the other secondary professions. Every class can use First Aid, including classes that already have healing spells.
Bandages provide healing without spending mana, making them useful for recovering between fights or helping an injured player. WoW Forever also moves healing potion recipes from Alchemy to First Aid and adds poultices that remove diseases and tourniquets that remove bleeds. These items give you more ways to recover while questing and prepare for dangerous encounters.
First Aid can also make campfire items such as
First Aid Kit,
which provides a stamina bufff. Higher-level camp items retain that benefit
and contain additional medical supplies.
Bandages
Use a bandage on yourself or a nearby friendly player to restore health over several seconds. Bandaging is channeled, so stand still and avoid incoming damage while using it. Movement or damage can interrupt the healing before the full healing is delivered.
The target gains the
Recently Bandaged debuff, preventing another
bandage from being applied for 1 minute. This restriction remains even if
the bandage is interrupted, so try to use bandages when you can safely use the
full channel.
Crafting and using a bandage can have different skill requirements.
For example,
Heavy Runecloth Bandage requires 290 First Aid to
craft but only 225 First Aid to use, and restores 2,000 health over
8 seconds. The skill requirement applies to the player using the bandage;
the player receiving the healing does not need First Aid.
The
Field Medicine Legacy perk reduces the duration of
Recently Bandaged when you use a bandage. It reduces the duration
by up to 10 seconds, but does not work in dungeons, raids, or battlegrounds.
Healing Potions
Healing potions restore health immediately and have a 2-minute cooldown. You do not need First Aid to drink them, although higher-level potions have a character-level requirement. This makes them useful both for your own characters and for players buying consumables from the Auction House, especially while levelin.
Removing Poisons, Diseases, and Bleeds
Anti-venoms remove poisons, poultices remove diseases, and tourniquets remove bleeds. Each rank has a maximum effective debuff level it can remove; this refers to the harmful effect's level, rather than your character level. You will need to prepare level appropriate items to remove specific debuffs based on the level of your enemy.
Poultices and tourniquets can only be used out of combat; they help clear diseases and bleeds after a fight, but cannot remove those effects during combat. Anti-venoms do not have this out-of-combat restriction, allowing you to use them in combat; this makes them particularly useful in end-game content where poisons are common place. All of these remedies have a 1-minute shared item cooldown.
First Aid Trainers and Skill Ranks in WoW Forever
First Aid has four ranks. Trainers teach Apprentice and Journeyman, a book teaches Expert, and the Artisan rank comes from a quest. Learn the next rank before continuing at your current skill cap, since crafting at the cap cannot increase your First Aid skill.
| Rank | Skill Cap | Required Skill | How to Learn |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apprentice | 75 | None | First Aid trainer. |
| Journeyman | 150 | 50 | First Aid trainer. |
| Expert | 225 | 125 | |
| Artisan | 300 | 225 | Complete |
Use the buttons below to select a rank and your faction. Trainers
available to both factions appear at the bottom of both tables. The
Expert and Artisan buttons show the book vendor or quest giver for
that rank. You can copy a /mappin command into game chat
to mark the location on your map.

Completing Triage
The
Triage quest requires you to save 15 patients before
6 die. The doctor supplies
Triage Bandage for the quest, so
you do not need to use your own bandages.
- Place
Triage Bandage on your action bar and stand where
you can quickly reach the beds. - Enable friendly nameplates (default keybind SHIFT+V), to more easily see and target who you need to heal.
- Treat Critically Injured patients first, then Badly Injured patients, followed by Injured patients.
- Let each bandage finish before starting the next treatment. Select your next patient while the current cast finishes to reduce time between treatments.
- After saving 15 patients, return to the doctor and complete the quest. If you fail, accept the quest again and retry.
The same doctor teaches
Heavy Mageweave Bandage at 240 First
Aid,
Runecloth Bandage at 260, and
Heavy Runecloth Bandage at 290. Bring the remaining cloth or keep it in
your mailbox so you can learn these recipes as you reach each requirement.
