Current Forever Beta Status

Forever Beta has been announced at BlizzCon 2026, starting September 17, 2026. Opt-in is now open.

Can You Play Forever Right Now?

No. The Forever beta begins on September 17, 2026. Opt-in to participate. Players who purchase the Skyborne Epic Edition or the Warcraft Forever Collection will gain guaranteed access to beta.

How to Get Access to Forever Beta

If you want to participate in the testing of Forever, you must opt-in on Blizzard's beta sign-up page.

Historically, Blizzard picks participation in game testing at random. There are exceptions like access to press and content creators, but nothing besides that.

Outside pre-ordering the Skyborne Epic Pack or above, no. If you're getting your access through regular opt-in channels, there are no ways to improve your odds of receiving an invite.

Pre-Purchase Access

Players who pre-purchase the Skyborne Epic Pack or the Warcraft Forever Collection editions gain guaranteed Beta access. Learn more in our guide

Only if you want to see the game early and help test it. Beta access has no lasting value, since all progress is wiped and the full game launches November 4, 2026.

How to Check If You Have Forever Beta

There are a couple of ways to check if you've been invited to test Forever.

6.1.

Battle.net Launcher

The fastest way to check is by going to your Battle.net Launcher and checking for access.

For that, open the Battle.net App and head to Games

Click on World of Warcraft Classic

See if you spot Forever Beta in the game dropdown list.

6.2.

Email from Blizzard

After appearing in your Battle.net Launcher, you should also receive an email telling you've received access to Forever Beta. Generally, this email will have the subject in the lines of "Welcome to Forever Beta" and will be sent from [email protected].

Important Note!

Blizzard will never ask you to click a link or send anything in this email. This is purely to communicate that you've gained access.

Scammers will usually send fake emails as phishing attempts to steal accounts using fake Beta emails. If you receive a Beta Access email, confirm your access on the Battle.net App.

Restart your client. Often it takes a restart to refresh the list of available games. If that doesn't work either, log off from the App and log back in.

Forever System Requirements

Forever will have higher minimum system requirements than what is required for Classic, with similar requirements to WoW: Midnight.

Does Anything from Forever Beta Carry to Live Servers?

No. The only advantage of playing Forever Beta is to see the game before it is officially released and to report bugs/other issues to Blizzard so they get fixed in time for release. There are no direct advantages or in-game rewards for playing the Beta.
