Rogue Class Quest Guide for World of Warcraft: Forever
Rogue has several class quests that will offer powerful upgrades, such
as
Blade of Cunning for your early leveling journey. The only truly required
class quest for your Rogue comes at Level 20, which is when you will
be able to complete the quest to unlock the ability to craft and use
Poisons and
Thistle Tea.
Dwarf and Gnome Class Quests
The first class quest offered for Rogues comes at Level 10. Almost every race except
for those who share a starting area will have a different quest to complete, though they
all reward the
Blade of Cunning
Level 10 - Road to Salvation
Hogral Bakkan, the Rogue trainer in Kharanos, will give you a quest tasking you to head to Ironforge to speak with Hulfdan Blackbeard, who is the Rogue trainer in Ironforge.
The next quest, which is given by Hulfdan, will send you back to Dun Morogh to speak to Onin MacHammar who is located just outside Gnomeregan. You will see a large pillar with a ramp surrounding it; you can find Onin on top of it.
The final part of this quest is to simply return to Hulfdan
in Ironforge. Speak to him to complete the quest, and you have earned the
Blade of Cunning.
Human Class Quests
The first class quest offered for Rogues comes at Level 10. Almost every race except
for those who share a starting area will have a different quest to complete, though they
all reward the
Blade of Cunning
Level 10 - Seek out SI:7
At Level 10, in Elwynn Forest, the Rogue trainer located in the Goldshire Inn, Keryn Sylvius will offer you a quest. This quest is quite simple, just tasking you to head into Stormwind and speak with Master Mathias Shaw.
Master Mathias Shaw will offer you a quest to retrieve the
Defias Shipping Schedule. It is important to note that you will need
Stealth
and
Pick Pocket learned in order to complete this quest, as the
Shipping Schedule is only something that can be taken with Pick Pocket instead of
dropping from the Defias Dockmaster after killing them.
You can find the Defias Dockmaster located at a small pier on the
southern border of Elwynn Forest. If you head directly south from Goldshire,
it will be easy to spot along the coast. Once you have found the Dockmaster,
simply
Stealth and use your
Pick Pocket ability to loot the
Defias Shipping Schedule and then you can return to Master Mathias Shaw.
Keep in mind there is a campfire near where the Dock master may be patrolling,
and getting too close to the fire may cause you to take damage and knock you out
of stealth.
Night Elf Rogue Class Quests
The first class quest offered for Rogues comes at Level 10. Almost every race except
for those who share a starting area will have a different quest to complete, though they
all reward the
Blade of Cunning
Level 10 - The Apple Falls
Jannok Breezesong, the Rogue Trainer in Dolanaar, will offer you a quest to head to Darnassus to speak to Syurna.
After turning in this initial quest, Syurna will now offer you a quest to
retrieve
Sethir's Journal. You will need
Stealth and
Pick Pocket
in order to complete this quest. The area where Sethir the Ancient is located
is densely packed with mobs, so make sure to be extra careful while in the area, or consider
waiting until Level 11 or 12 before taking on this task.
Sethir's Journal does not
drop like most quest items; it must be pickpocketed from Sethir. After you steal the
item you can return to Syurna to collect your new
Blade of Cunning.
Orc and Troll Class Quests
The first class quest offered for Rogues comes at Level 10. Almost every race except
for those who share a starting area will have a different quest to complete, though they
all reward the
Blade of Cunning
Level 10 - Therzok
Kaplak, the Rogue trainer found in Razor Hill, will offer you a quest to head to Orgrimmar and speak to Therzok in the Cleft of Shadows.
Therzok will then task you with a quest to kill Tazan and loot
Tazan's Satchel. Tazan patrols along the coast of the
pirate camp located south of Ratchet and north of Northwatch Hold in the barrens. It is very
easy to accidentally aggro additional enemies due to the mob density in this area, so do not
hesitate to wait until Level 11 or 12 to try to complete this quest.
After you have acquired
Tazan's Satchel and returned to Therzok, the
final quest in the chain will be given to you. Your last task is to unlock Tazan's satchel,
which will require
Tazan's Key. You will need to have learned
Stealth
and
Pick Pocket to do this. Head to the Valley of Strength in Orgrimmar, and
inside the inn you will see a Tauren named Gamon. Pickpocket him and
then use the key that you have stolen to open the satchel and complete the
quest by returning to Therzok.
Undead Class Quests
The first class quest offered for Rogues comes at Level 10. Almost every race except
for those who share a starting area will have a different quest to complete, though they
all reward the
Blade of Cunning
Level 10 - Mennet Carkad
Speak with Marion Call in Tirisfall Glades. Marion will offer you a quest that sends you to the Undercity to speak with Mennet Carkad.
Mennet will offer you a quest of his own, asking you to obtain
Astor's Letter of Introduction.
This can be done by killing Astor Hadren, who patrols the roads in Silverpine Forest
and Tirisfal Glades anywhere from Brill to the Sepulcher, so just follow the road and he
will be easy to spot. You will need to speak to Astor and click through his dialog options
to turn him hostile. Return the Letter of Introduction to Mennet for the next step.
Next, Mennet will tell you to go and speak with Andron Gant who is located just a bit to the west in The Apothecarium inside of Undercity.
Andron will then tell you to bring
Andron's Ledger back to
Mennet. The ledger can be acquired by interacting with the bookshelf
right behind Andron. Head back to Mennet to complete this portion of the chain.
For the final part of this chain you will be instructed to bring
Andron's Ledger
to Varimathras, who is located in the Hall of the Dark Lady inside of Undercity.
Speaking to him will complete the chain and reward you with the
Blade of Cunning.
Level 20 - Mathias and the Defias (Alliance Poison Quest)
Head to Stormwind and speak to Master Mathias Shaw who will offer you
the first step of the quest to unlock Poisons. Before you leave Stormwind, make sure you
have
Pick Pocket and
Pick Lock trained and leveled to at
least 75, as they will be required to complete this quest line. The first
step simply tasks you with going and finding Agent Kearnen in Westfall.
She will be in Stealth, but the easiest landmark to look out for is a large tree in the
south-eastern corner of Westfall, just a bit south of the road heading into Duskwood. She will
be standing next to it. If you are attempting to complete this quest
at Level 20, consider putting some of your talent points into
Master of Deception
to make it easier to avoid otherwise deadly mobs.
Agent Kearnen will provide the second step of this chain, asking you to
obtain the
Defias Tower Key and
Klaven Mortwake's Journal. The Tower Key
can be obtained by
Pick Pocketing a Malformed Defias Drone. The next
step is collecting the journal. You will have to ascend to the top of the nearby tower to
find the journal, which is located in a small box. The tower is filled with very dangerous
enemies, including Klaven Mortwake, so make sure to be extremely cautious while
using
Stealth to climb the tower. Once you're on the top floor, try to
Sap Klaven and loot the chest beside him for the journal. You will need 75
Lock Picking skill in order to open the box.
Any additional levels of Stealth, like points
in
Master of Deception or even temporary increases like
Vanish will
help, as Klaven is Level 23. Since stealth works based on a Level difference between you
and your target, he may be able to detect you before
you reach the Sap range, or you might even miss the cast.
Using your Hearthstone is the safest way to exit, assuming Klaven is
still incapacitated. Return to Master Mathias Shaw, and congratulations, you can
now create Poisons and cook
Thistle Tea.
There is one last loose end to tie up. After opening the chest to obtain
Klaven Mortwake's Journal, you will be afflicted with the
Touch of Zanzil
debuff; this can be cured by completing the follow-up quest offered by Master Mathias Shaw
who will send you to see Doc Mixilpixil. Doc will send you around Stormwind collecting
reagents for a cure, specifically:
Simple Wildflowers from Bernard Gump,
Spool of Light Chartreuse Silk Thread, which can be found on the floor of Finest Thread, and a
Bronze Tube and
Leaded Vial that can be acquired in quite a few ways.
Or if you don't care about the quest experience, you can simply have a Druid, Shaman, or
Paladin remove the Poison or dispel it yourself if your First Aid skill is high enough
for
Anti-Venom. Alternatively, simply let it run out. You will die, but can quickly
resurrect yourself. Don't try this on Hardcore though!
Level 20 - The Shattered Salute (Horde Poison Quest)
The quest to unlock Poisons as a Horde Rogue will begin with Shenthul, who can be found in the Cleft of Shadows in Orgrimmar. The first part of this chain is quite simple: wait for Shenthul to salute you and simply type /salute while targeting him. Do not hesitate to abandon the quest and pick it back up if it does not give you credit when you return his salute.
This will then unlock the next step, starting the real adventure. Shenthul
will send you to The Barrens to a location just north of The Sludge Fen, to find
Taskmaster Fizzule. The Taskmaster will be hostile at first, so you will need
to follow some steps in order to turn him friendly. Upon accepting the quest, there
should be a
Flare Gun in your inventory. At a safe distance, where the Taskmaster
is not aggroed onto you, use the Flare Gun twice. After the second usage, /salute with the
Taskmaster targeted, and it should make him less hostile, allowing you to safely interact with
him and start the next part of the chain.
Taskmaster Fizzule will then give you a list of specific mobs to slay
and collect some items along the way. The easiest tasks on this list are
slaying 2 of each of the following: Mutated Venture Co. Drone, Venture Co. Lookout,
and Venture Co. Patroller. All of the enemies and items you will be looking for are found
in the tower just west of where you speak with Taskmaster Fizzule. Before making your way inside
the tower, you will want to pickpocket Foreman Silixiz to obtain
Silixiz's Tower Key.
Silixiz is located right outside the tower, so it is often easiest to do this first. Next, you can
head inside to deal with the Venture Company mobs you are tasked with killing.
Your final step will involve collecting
Gallywix's Head and the
Cache of Zanzil's Altered Mixture. Grand Foreman Puzik Gallywix is a Level 23 elite,
so do not hesitate to bring any and all consumables, as he will not be easy to kill.
After vanquishing Gallywix and looting his head, you can unlock the lockbox he was
guarding; this will require 75 Lockpicking skill to do. Return to Shenthul, and
congratulations, you can now cook
Thistle Tea.
The final part of this quest will both grant you the ability to craft poisons and remove
the pesky
Touch of Zanzil debuff you were afflicted with upon looting the
Cache of Zanzil's Altered Mixture. Shenthul will send you to the
Hillsbrad Foothills to speak with Serge Hinott in Tarren Mill. After speaking
with Hinott, he will offer a quick follow-up quest where all you must do is wait for a few seconds while
he finishes the cure to the Touch of Zanzil. Speak to him after it completes,
and you will be given
Hinott's Oil and be taught the ability to craft Poisons. Alternatively,
ask a friend who can cure Poisons to dispel you, for the same effect, but without having to
travel to an entirely different continent.
