On this page, you will find out the optimal PvE stat priority for your Balance Druid in WoW Forever. We first present the stat priority, before delving into more complex explanations.
Balance Druid Stat Priority
Welcome to the Stats page for Balance Druid. This page is intended for Level 60 players, but it can still be useful to understand what each stat does and how it can contribute to your output while you level. Forever changed a ton of items, and there is still a lot we do not know about most high level gear. This also means we will not be able to be certain of our stat priorities until we can see how everything looks at max level.
Do not take this stat priority too seriously until we have level 60 data to theorycraft with. The gear available can make a big difference to our stat priority.
Each stat provides one or more bonuses to your character:
| Stat | Bonus |
|---|---|
| Hit | Increases your chance to hit with spells and abilities. Missed spells can cost us a lot of DPS so you will look to reduce the chance of this happening. Quite rare on early levelling gear. |
| Spell Power | Increases the damage of your abilities. |
| Critical Strike | Increases the critical strike chance of your abilities, including damage-over-time effects. |
| Haste | Reduces your spell cast times and global cooldowns. |
| Intellect | Increases your Mana pool by a lot, and your critical strike chance by a little bit. |
| Spirit | Increases your mana regeneration when you are not casting. Not bad while leveling but ideally we will not spend much time not casting when we are in a higher level raid or dungeon. |
| MP5 | "Mana per 5". Regenerates mana every 5 seconds, regardless of whether you have been casting recently. |
TipsSpirit: The 5-Second Rule
Whenever you cast a spell, your spirit regeneration will pause for 5 seconds (if
you have the
Meditation Restoration talent then it will be halved instead).
This is known as the "5-second rule" and mostly applies to healing specs, but is worth
knowing for all casters.
Next, we will go into more detail on each stat. If you are new, then you should read through this, play for a while and then return to it to further your understanding.
Spell Power
Spell Power increases the effectiveness of your spells. The specific amount gained depends on what is known as a "spell power coefficient" that differs from spell to spell. A few are listed below.
Healing Power Explained
Intellect
Intellect increases your mana pool and spell critical strike chance. It also affects how quickly you level up weapon skills. The mana pool increase can help ensure we have enough mana to last a full fight - even if it runs longer. Once you are higher level, you will find intellect on quite a lot of your gear.
Intellect Scaling
Hit
All of our spells have a chance to "miss" which means they won't do any damage at all! This chance to miss
increases as you fight enemies that are high level than you and all raid bosses you eventually
fight will be 3 levels higher than yourself. You can reduce this chance with the "Hit" stat.
You will also take the
Nature's Reach talent which gives you +4% - that's enough to
take care of your hit requirements while levelling but when gearing up for raid, finding items
with hit chance on them will be a high priority. You need 17% hit chance total, so 13% of that
needs to come from your gear. Once you are are at the "hit cap", any additional hit chance is
completely wasted.
Critical Strike
Critical Strike increases your chance of getting a "critical hit" with spells and abilities.
A critical spell hit is 50% more effective baseline, though it is increased by our
Vengeance
talent and some racials. We can also increase the crit chance of our via talents
like
Nature's Majesty,
Moonkin Form, and
Improved Moonfire and your
Nature's Grace talent
grants you cast speed whenever you crit.
Spirit
Spirit increases your health and mana regeneration while not
casting. With the Restoration
Meditation talent, you will get half of this value while
casting too. We are unlikely to take that talent at max level, but it depends a lot on how our
mana efficiency goes and the tuning on other mana raid buffs.
MP5
MP5, or "Mana per 5" is another regeneration stat that works at full strength regardless
of whether or not you have been casting recently. You usually get less MP5 on gear
than Spirit though it also does not require you have the
Meditation talent
to be effective. Expect to get most of your MP5 via raid buffs with it being somewhat
rare on gear.
Haste
Haste reduces our spells cast times, as well as our global cooldown. You will not find a lot of
haste on gear in Forever, though Skyborne Druids will have 2% automatically from
Wind Blessed.
