Discipline Priest Talent Builds for World of Warcraft: Forever
At the time of writing, Discipline Priest has 1 core build, with some variance with some of the supplemental talents. This build is great for single-target healing and mitigation, but can struggle with group healing.
The Mitigation Machine
Our main goal with this build is to prevent or reduce damage before it occurs.
The important talents that are core to this build include
Penance,
Renewed Hope,
Divine Aegis, and
Inspiration.
There are plenty of synergies between these talents.
The
Renewed Hope and
Divine Aegis talents state that they
can only proc off of non-periodic heals. Since
Penance
is a channeled ability, it is exempt from the
proc restrictions on those, unlike something like our
Renew.
Another important buff we have access to as a Discipline Priest is
Power Infusion. This allows us to buff ourselves or an ally,
essentially giving them a healing/damage window to dump their cooldowns into.
It is a great tool for when there's an opportunity to burst down an enemy or
to keep your allies alive thanks to its empowered healing.
This is the default build for those who wish to bring utility, mitigation, and healing to their group. It's a build that requires the player to be proactive, which may be challenging for a newer player.
