Forever Fury Warrior Stat Priority

Last Updated: Oct 27, 2026 - 3:20 AM (1d ago)

On this page, you will find out the optimal PvE stat priority for your Fury Warrior in WoW Forever. We first present the stat priority, before delving into more complex explanations.

1.

Fury Warrior Stat Priority

Welcome to the Stats page for Fury Warrior at Level 60. This page covers your stat priority, what each stat does, and how it contributes to your damage output. These recommendations are subject to change as Forever is updated.

Weapon Dps
Hit Chance
Expertise
Critical Strike
Strength

This priority is a starting point rather than a set of fixed stat weights. Hit Chance refers to your special attack Hit target, while Expertise refers to removing Dodge Chance when attacking from behind. Compare Haste, Agility, Attack Power, and additional Hit Chance alongside Critical Strike and Strength rather than judging an item by a single stat. The amount of each stat matters, not just its place in the priority.

The table below gives a short description of each stat. The sections afterward explain their value to Fury and the interactions that affect your gearing choices.

Stat Bonus
Weapon DPS Determines your weapon's base damage per second.
Hit Chance Reduces the chance that your attacks miss.
Special attack cap: 8% against Level 63 bosses.
Dual wield auto attack cap: 27% against Level 63 bosses, before talent bonuses.
Expertise Reduces the chance that enemies dodge or parry your attacks.
Cap when attacking from behind: 6.5% Dodge Chance reduction against Level 63 bosses.
Critical Strike Increases the chance that your attacks critically strike.
Strength Increases your melee Attack Power.
Attack Power Increases the damage of your weapon attacks and abilities that scale with Attack Power.
Haste Increases your attack speed.
Agility Increases your melee Critical Strike Chance, Dodge Chance, and Armor.
Stamina Increases your maximum Health.
IMPORTANTMore Damage Does Not Mean More Rage

Auto attack Rage is normalized in Forever. Strength, Attack Power, and weapon damage make your attacks hit harder, but do not increase the Rage generated by each normal swing. Hit Chance and Expertise help attacks connect, Haste gives you more swings, and Critical Strike increases the Rage from critical auto attacks. These differences matter when comparing upgrades, especially when you do not have enough Rage to use your main abilities.

Below we will break down each stat a bit more beyond the basic descriptions. Additionally, you can find some of the intricate math behind each stat.

1.1.

Weapon DPS and Weapon Speed

Your weapons contribute both their own damage and the stats printed on them. Compare the complete weapon rather than choosing one simply because it has more Strength or Critical Strike. This applies to your offhand too, especially with Dual Wield Specialization Icon Dual Wield Specialization improving its damage.

Weapon Damage and Speed Explained

Weapon DPS and damage per swing are different. A slower weapon deals more damage per swing than a faster weapon with the same DPS. That matters for attacks based on weapon damage, including Whirlwind Icon Whirlwind, which strikes with both weapons.

Do not choose a weapon based on speed alone. Slower swings generate more base Rage per successful hit, but happen less often. A slower weapon does not automatically provide more Rage over an entire fight.

You can estimate the base Rage generated by each normal auto attack using the formulas below. Use the weapon's listed speed, before Haste or attack speed buffs.

Main hand: Weapon Speed × 3.46 = Rage per swing

Offhand: Weapon Speed × 1.73 = Rage per swing

For example, a 2.6 speed main hand weapon generates about 9 Rage per normal auto attack, while a 1.6 speed offhand generates about 2.77 Rage. These are base values before talent bonuses or critical auto attacks. Any fractional Rage is saved and added to the Rage you gain from future attacks.

1.2.

Hit Chance

Hit Chance reduces misses. A missed auto attack deals no damage and provides no Rage, while a missed special attack wastes an opportunity to deal damage. This makes Hit valuable for both your damage and the consistency of your rotation.

Hit Chance and Dual Wielding

You need 8% Hit Chance to prevent special attacks such as Bloodthirst Icon Bloodthirst and Whirlwind Icon Whirlwind from missing against Level 63 bosses.

Equipping a weapon in your offhand adds a 19% miss penalty to auto attacks from both weapon; equipping a shield does not apply this penalty. Against Level 63 bosses, this brings your total auto attack miss chance to 27% before Hit Chance or talent bonuses.

This penalty does not affect special attacks, which only need 8% Hit Chance to stop missing against Level 63 bosses. At that cap, your auto attacks still have a 19% chance to miss before talent bonuses, so additional Hit Chance continues to improve your auto attacks.

Furious Precision Icon Furious Precision grants up to 10% additional Hit Chance to your offhand attacks only. It does not reduce the Hit needed for main hand special attacks such as Bloodthirst Icon Bloodthirst. Your two weapons therefore have different remaining miss chances, even though Hit from gear benefits both.

Queuing Heroic Strike Icon Heroic Strike no longer removes the extra offhand miss chance in Forever. Do not rely on the old Classic interaction when deciding how much Hit Chance to gear for.

1.3.

Expertise

Expertise reduces the chance of your attacks being dodged or parried, rather than their chance to miss. Hit Chance and Expertise address different reasons an attack can fail, so reaching your Hit target does not make Expertise unnecessary.

Attack from behind whenever the encounter allows it. This prevents normal parries and blocks, but enemies can still dodge. For Fury, the useful Expertise target is therefore usually the amount needed to remove Dodge Chance, not the much higher amount needed to remove Parry Chance while attacking from the front.

Against Level 63 bosses, aim for enough Expertise to reduce Dodge Chance by 6.5%. Once you remove Dodge Chance, additional Expertise provides no further benefit while attacking from behind.

1.4.

Critical Strike

Critical Strike improves your damage and helps keep Fury's rotation moving. Critical auto attacks generate twice the Rage of normal auto attacks, and activate Flurry Icon Flurry. Deep Wounds Icon Deep Wounds and Impale Icon Impale add further damage to your critical strikes.

Critical Strike, Flurry, and Rage

At five points, Flurry Icon Flurry increases melee attack speed by 25% for your next three swings after a melee Critical Strike. More Critical Strike helps refresh the buff more often, giving you additional uptime of the increased Attack Speed.

There is no simple Critical Strike target that guarantees permanent Flurry Icon Flurry. Even at 33% Critical Strike Chance, you can go several attacks in a row without a Critical Strike. Do not treat that number as a cap or stop valuing Critical Strike once you reach it; more crit is typically better.

Deep Wounds Icon Deep Wounds makes your critical strikes apply a bleed. At three points, it deals 60% of your melee weapon's average damage over 12 seconds. Critical special attacks can trigger the bleed, but don't generate Rage.

At two points, Impale Icon Impale increases the critical damage bonus of your abilities by 20%. An ability that normally hits for 100 would crit for 200 without the talent, or 220 with it, before other modifiers. The talent doesn't increase auto attack critical damage or Rage generation.

Say a normal auto attack generates 10 Rage and a critical auto attack generates 20 Rage. If 20% of your auto attacks critically strike, you average 12 Rage per attack:

(10 × 0.80) + (20 × 0.20) = 12 Rage per auto attack

Increase that to 30% and your average becomes 13 Rage per auto attack. That is about 8.3% more Rage from those attacks. Adding 10% Critical Strike does not mean you generate 10% more total Rage.

1.4.1.

Agility

Agility gives Warriors melee Critical Strike Chance, Dodge Chance, and Armor, but does not provide melee Attack Power. Its main offensive benefit is the Critical Strike Chance, which also supports Flurry Icon Flurry and critical auto attack Rage generation.

At Level 60, every 20 Agility provides 1% melee Critical Strike Chance before modifiers.

1.5.

Strength

Each point of Strength gives a Warrior 2 Melee Attack Power. This improves your weapon attacks and abilities that scale with Attack Power, making Strength a straightforward way to increase your damage.

Without additional modifiers, 20 Strength and 40 Attack Power provide the same offensive benefit. Buffs such as Blessing of Kings Icon Blessing of Kings increase Strength but do not directly increase a flat Attack Power bonus, which can make Strength more valuable when comparing otherwise equal amounts.

1.5.1.

Attack Power

Attack Power increases weapon damage and contributes directly to several abilities. It is not a weaker version of Strength that should be ignored: compare the amount on the item with the Attack Power you would gain from Strength.

Attack Power and Bloodthirst

Every 14 Attack Power adds 1 weapon DPS before modifiers such as the offhand damage penalty. The damage added to an individual auto attack also depends on the weapon's base speed. This is why the same Attack Power increase adds more damage to each swing of a slower weapon.

Bloodthirst Icon Bloodthirst uses 45% of your Attack Power for its base damage. An additional 100 Attack Power therefore adds 45 damage before Armor, Critical Strikes, and other damage modifiers.

Additional Attack Power × 0.45 = Additional Bloodthirst Damage

For example, 20 Strength provides 40 Attack Power before buffs. That adds 18 base damage to Bloodthirst Icon Bloodthirst, as well as improving your weapon attacks. Only increasing weapon DPS without adding Attack Power does not increase Bloodthirst's base damage.

1.6.

Haste

Haste increases the rate of your auto attacks. More swings give you more opportunities to deal damage and generate Rage during the same amount of time. It does not increase the damage or base Rage of each individual swing.

Haste Interactions

Haste is an attack speed increase, not a direct reduction of the same percentage from your swing timer. For example, a 2.4 second weapon with only 20% increased attack speed swings every 2 seconds:

2.4 / 1.20 = 2 seconds per swing

Its value depends on how much time you spend attacking. Extra attack speed does nothing while you are out of range, and extra Rage only helps if you can spend it rather than repeatedly reaching your Rage cap.

1.7.

Weapon Skill

Weapon Skill is specific to the weapon type you are using. Keep it fully trained to utilize a new weapon's full potential. Changing from a sword to an axe can temporarily reduce your damage if your Axe skill is far behind.

Bonus Weapon Skill is separate from Hit Chance and Expertise. It affects attacks by reducing the amount of glancing blows against stronger enemies. Glancing blows are auto attacks that connect but deal reduced damage; they are not misses that additional Hit simply removes.

Forever retains Weapon Skill, but items provide smaller bonuses than in Classic. Check both the amount and the weapon types supported by an item instead of assuming that an old Classic Weapon Skill item is automatically your best choice.

This section will be updated further when more information about Weapon Skill has been properly tested.

1.8.

Stamina and Other Stats

Stamina increases your maximum Health, while Armor reduces incoming Physical damage. Neither directly improves your damage, but giving up too much survivability for a small offensive gain can leave you unable to survive encounter mechanics.

Spirit helps restore Health outside combat; it does not regenerate Rage. Intellect can help with learning Weapon Skill, but does not increase your melee damage. Neither stats are worth prioritizing on your normal gear.

2.

How Stats Affect Rage Generation

Auto attack Rage is normalized in Forever. The weapon's base speed matters, but the amount of damage dealt by the hit does not determine its Rage gain. Strength, Attack Power, and weapon damage make your attacks hit harder without increasing the Rage from each normal swing.

Hit Chance and Expertise help attacks land, Haste gives you more swings, and Critical Strike increases the Rage generated by critical auto attacks. These stats improve your Rage generation even though dealing more damage does not.

Talents also contribute to your Rage generation. Melee Critical Strikes trigger Flurry Icon Flurry, increasing your attack speed and helping you generate more Rage through additional swings. Unbridled Wrath Icon Unbridled Wrath and Dual Wield Specialization Icon Dual Wield Specialization provide additional Rage bonuses through their own effects.

Heroic Strike Icon Heroic Strike and Cleave Icon Cleave replace your next main hand auto attack. That attack spends Rage rather than generating its normal auto attack Rage, so the real cost includes both the listed cost and the Rage you would otherwise have gained. Only spend excess Rage on Heroic Strike Icon Heroic Strike or Cleave Icon Cleave when you can still afford to use Bloodthirst Icon Bloodthirst and Whirlwind Icon Whirlwind as they come off cooldown.
