Leatherworking in World of Warcraft Forever is a primary crafting profession that turns hides and leather scraps, gathered primarily through Skinning, into leather and mail armors, and armor kits. In this guide we will recommend ways to level it as quickly and cheaply as possible in case you want to speed-level Leatherworking!
Leatherworking Leveling Guide from 1 to 225 in WoW Forever
You can level Leatherworking to 225 with the recipes you start with and the ones your trainers teach. Save the hides you cure and ten of the first belts you make. You'll use both for later crafts.

Materials Needed
Skinning supplies the leather and hides. Buy your
Salt, thread, and dye from a Leatherworking Supplies vendor. If
Heavy Hide is expensive on your realm, check the alternative at
130 before buying materials for that stretch.
The shopping list counts the raw materials you need to gather or buy. It already subtracts the leather you make at 75 and 125. The leveling tables show the materials for each whole batch. Yellow and green recipes can take a few extra crafts, so stop at the listed skill unless the guide tells you to save a specific number of items.

Leatherworking Trainers in WoW Forever
Leatherworking has four trainable ranks, each of which increases the highest skill level that you can reach. You can learn the next rank before reaching your current skill cap, provided you meet both requirements shown below.
| Rank | Skill Cap | Leatherworking Skill Required | Character Level Required |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apprentice | 75 | None | None |
| Journeyman | 150 | 50 | 10 |
| Expert | 225 | 125 | 20 |
| Artisan | 300 | 200 | 35 |
Use the buttons below to select a training rank, then your faction.
Each trainer appears under the highest rank they teach, and trainers
available to both factions are listed at the bottom of both faction tables.
You can copy a /mappin command into the game chat to place a

Leveling Leatherworking from 1 to 75
If you've been skinning, turn 3×
Ruined Leather Scraps into
1×
Light Leather while the conversion still gives skill.
Then make
Light Armor Kit until 30. The table assumes you start
with leather and shows how many kits you'd need without scraps.
At 30, start making
Cured Light Hide. Save the whole batch
for
Light Leather Pants at 100. Switch to
Embossed Leather Gloves
at 55. Once you're level 10 with 50 Leatherworking, you can train
Journeyman so you can keep gaining skill past 75.
| Skill Range | Item | Approximate Crafts | Materials |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 30 | 29 | 29× |
|
| 30 to 55 | 27 | 27× 27× |
|
| 55 to 75 | 21 | 63× 42× |
Leveling Leatherworking from 75 to 150
Keep the
Medium Leather you make on the way to 80. Next, make
and save 10×
Cured Medium Hide. At 90, switch to
Fine Leather Belt and keep ten finished belts. Each
Dark Leather Belt you make at 115 uses one of those belts and one
of the cured hides.
Between the two belt recipes, make
Light Leather Pants with
the
Cured Light Hide you saved earlier. If you run out before
115, cure another
Light Hide with 1×
Salt for
each extra pair.
At 125, combine 5×
Medium Leather into 1×
Heavy Leather until you reach 130. You can train Expert with
Telonis in Darnassus or Una in Thunder Bluff once you're level 20 with
125 Leatherworking. Train before you reach the Journeyman cap of 150.
At 130, make 20×
Cured Heavy Hide, even if the last few
give no skill. Save ten for shoulders and ten for gloves. Make
Heavy Armor Kit for the remaining points to 150.
If
Heavy Hide is expensive, you can replace the entire stretch
from 130 to 175. Make
Heavy Armor Kit until 160, then make
15×
Dusky Bracers to reach 175. For this option alone,
budget about 450×
Heavy Leather, 42×
Fine Thread,
15×
Black Dye, and 30×
Silken Thread.
Count any leather you just made toward the 450.

|
| To 150 | 9 | 45× 9× |
Leveling Leatherworking from 150 to 225
Continue making
Heavy Armor Kit until 155. Use the
20×
Cured Heavy Hide you set aside for ten crafts each of
Barbaric Shoulders and
Guardian Gloves. If you took
the
Dusky Bracers option, rejoin the table at 175.
Make
Thick Armor Kit from 175 to 195, then switch to
Nightscape Headband. Set aside 210×
Thick Leather
for the final 15 crafts before you start making headbands.
At 210, learn
Nightscape Pants from
Alliance Drakk
Stonehand at Aerie Peak in The Hinterlands or
Horde Hahrana
Ironhide at Camp Mojache in Feralas. You'll find their map pins in the
Artisan tab above. The pants give one point per craft through 225.
