On this page, you will find out the best PvE talent choices and builds for your Feral Druid in WoW Forever.
Feral Druid Talent Builds for World of Warcraft: Forever
This page will be dedicated to Feral Druid talent builds and will be
kept updated with the strongest talent builds for PvE content
depending on your preferred playstyle. Feral Druid has several talent
options, with the primary build taking both
Bear Form talents and
Cat Form talents. There are also specialized builds if you are only
interested in either tanking or playing as a DPS.
Hybrid Bear and Cat Talent Build
The Hybrid talent build spends almost all of its points in the Feral tree, trying to grab as many useful modifiers there as possible. It tries to balance taking strong survivability points while still making sure to take talents that increase damage in either of the forms. It also spends a handful of talent points in the Balance talent tree to pick up some strong stat and damage boosts.
This build will perform slightly worse offensively than playing a build focused on just one role, but allows you to be a lot more flexible and able to adapt to situations you were not expecting. It also allows you to fill both roles while keeping your dual spec talents open for a Balance, Restoration, or a PvP talent loadout.
Optional Talents
There aren't very many options for good talent chances in this build, since you quickly lose value for one or both of your forms. Below are some specific cases where you can benefit from talent changes.
- If you have 8% Hit chance and reach Hit cap from other sources such as gear or consumables,
you can drop the points in
Nature's Reach and pick up the last 2 points in
Ferocity.
This is a very small gain and should only be done if your best items happen to have 8% Hit Chance on it.
Ferocity is not strong enough to gear around.
- You can choose to drop points in
Thick Hide if you find that you are comfortably living all
the content you have to tank. If you do so you can place these points in
Ferocity and
Brutal Impact instead. This is a very small gain at best, and it is possible you can gain more damage
and give up less mitigation by simply running a slightly more offensive item in some slot, while sticking
to the original build loadout.
Bear Tank Talent Build
This build is fairly close to the Hybrid talent build, but drops the talents connected to
Shifting Power as well as
Feral Instinct to pick up
Furor and
Naturalist in the Restoration talent tree. Furor allows you to always start combat
against bosses with 10 extra Rage, and Naturalist offers 5% more damage from your attacks and
abilities, making this build slightly stronger for tanking than the Hybrid build. However, your
DPS in
Cat Form will be significantly lower, so only use this build if you are only
planning on tanking.
Optional Talents
This build takes virtually all talent points that empower your damage in
Bear Form.
There are a handful of options you can opt into for specific situations. Below we list these.
Feral Instinct increases your damage from
Swipe by up to 30%, which can
be a decently large damage gain in AoE situations, but does not change your single-target damage.
To access Feral Instincts your best bet is to drop points from
Heart of the Wild and
Thick Hide, which leads to a small Stamina and Armor loss respectively.
- If your best gear and consumables gives you 8% Hit chance you can drop points from
Nature's Reach
and place them in
Feral Instinct or
Ferocity. Note that these are both very small
talent upgrades and only worth doing if your best gear setup happens to have enough Hit chance
already.
Cat DPS Talent Build
This build focuses on improving your damage in
Cat Form, dropping
talents like
Primal Bite and
Thick Hide to access
Naturalist
in the Restoration talent tree. This build loses a lot of tools that makes Feral Druid
a strong tank, both in regards to mitigation but also threat generation. Therefore this
build is only recommended if you are strictly playing as a DPS cat.
Optional Talents
This build is already spending most talent points as efficiently as possible, but there are some options you can opt into. The following list discuss some of them.
Feral Instinct is a very useful talent for moving around in
Prowl,
making you a fair bit harder to detect by enemies. Your best bet to access it is likely
by taking the the points from
Ferocity. Ferocity has a fairly small impact
on your Energy economy, especially in group content when you only benefit when using
Rake.
- Same as with the other builds, if you have the Hit chance on your best gear set to
reach the Hit cap of 8% you can drop the talents in
Nature's Reach to
take the last points of
Naturalist for a very small damage upgrade. Do not
do this unless
