Tailoring in World of Warcraft Forever is a primary crafting profession that turns cloth rolls, gathered primarily from humanoid enemies, into cloth armors, and storage bags. In this guide we will recommend ways to level it as quickly and cheaply as possible in case you want to speed-level Tailoring!
Tailoring Leveling Guide from 1 to 225 in WoW Forever
You can level Tailoring to 225 using cloth, vendor supplies, and recipes your trainers teach. Turn loose cloth into bolts while the recipe still gives skill, then use those bolts for your next crafts. The main route finishes with bags you can equip, sell, or send to another character.

Materials Needed
Save the cloth you loot from humanoids or buy it from the Auction House.
Buy your thread, dye, and
Bleach from a Tailoring Supplies
vendor. You can make every item on this route without a crafting station.
The shopping list counts loose cloth once. The leveling tables show how
much each batch uses, including the bolts you made earlier. Yellow and green
recipes can take extra crafts, so check your skill before turning the last
of a stack into gear. If you plan to use
Runecloth for the final
ten points, check the alternative at 205 before buying cloth for bags.

Tailoring Trainers in WoW Forever
Tailoring has four trainable ranks, each of which increases the highest skill level that you can reach. You can learn the next rank before reaching your current skill cap, provided you meet both requirements shown below.
| Rank | Skill Cap | Tailoring Skill Required | Character Level Required |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apprentice | 75 | None | None |
| Journeyman | 150 | 50 | 10 |
| Expert | 225 | 125 | 20 |
| Artisan | 300 | 200 | 35 |
Use the buttons below to select a training rank, then your faction.
Each trainer appears under the highest rank they teach, and trainers
available to both factions are listed at the bottom of both faction tables.
You can copy a /mappin command into the game chat to place a
marker on your map.

Leveling Tailoring from 1 to 75
Start with about 30×
Bolt of Linen Cloth. Save the bolts
and turn them into
Linen Belt until 55. If you run short, each
extra belt takes 2×
Linen Cloth and 1×
Coarse Thread.
Train Journeyman at character level 10 and 50 Tailoring. Do this before
you start making
Bolt of Woolen Cloth at 55 so you can gain skill
past 75. Keep the bolts for capes.
| Skill Range | Item | Approximate Crafts | Materials |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 30 | 30 | 60× |
|
| 30 to 55 | 28 | 28× 28× |
|
| 55 to 75 | 22 | 66× |
Leveling Tailoring from 75 to 150
Make about 32×
Bolt of Woolen Cloth in total, counting the
ones you made before 75. Then make
Woolen Cape until 100. Each
extra cape costs just one bolt and one
Fine Thread, even after
the recipe turns green at 97.
At 100, start making
Bolt of Silk Cloth. The recipe turns gray
at 120. The table budgets 233 bolts for the whole route, so you can make
them in batches as you get the cloth. Set aside about 49 for the hoods
and shirts below and 184 for the vests and pants you'll make from 150.
Make
Azure Silk Hood from 120 to 135, then switch to
Formal White Shirt for five guaranteed points. At character level 20
and 125 Tailoring, train Expert from
Alliance Georgio Bolero in
Stormwind City or
Horde Josef Gregorian in Undercity. Both teach
the shirt and all the recipes on the main route from here to 225.
At 140, make
Bolt of Mageweave until 150. Keep making bolts
as you need them after the recipe turns gray. Budget 76 bolts for gloves
on the main route. If you're switching to
Runecloth at 205, make smaller
batches as you go.
| Skill Range | Item | Approximate Crafts | Materials |
|---|---|---|---|
| 75 to 80 | 10 | 30× |
|
| 80 to 100 | 32 | 32× 32× |
|
| 100 to 120 | 233 | 932× |
|
| 120 to 135 | 17 | 34× 34× 17× |
|
| 135 to 140 | 5 | 15× 10× 5× |
|
| 140 to 150 | 76 | 380× |
Leveling Tailoring from 150 to 225
Use your saved silk bolts for
Crimson Silk Vest until 170. Then
make
Crimson Silk Pantaloons until 190. Both recipes use
Red Dye, but the pants take
Silken Thread in place
of
Fine Thread.
Switch to
Black Mageweave Gloves at 190. They use just two
bolts per craft, so carry on until 215 even though they turn green at 210.
At 215, switch to
Mageweave Bag. Each bag takes
4×
Bolt of Mageweave. Make a few at a time and stop at 225,
since the recipe turns green at 220.
If you have 150×
Runecloth, you can switch at 205.
Visit
Alliance Timothy Worthington in Theramore or
Horde Daryl Stack in Tarren Mill and learn
Bolt of Runecloth.
Make 30 bolts there. The first five give a point each, and the rest can
still give skill until 215. Learn
Runecloth Belt from the same
trainer once you reach 210.
If the bolts leave you short of 215, make
Black Mageweave Gloves
for the remaining points. Then use the 30 saved bolts and 10×
Rune Thread to make ten belts and reach 225. Skip the last two
rows in the table. This saves the 520×
Mageweave Cloth and
52×
Silken Thread budgeted for bags, plus the materials
for any gloves you skip.
| Skill Range | Item | Approximate Crafts | Materials |
|---|---|---|---|
| 150 to 170 | 20 | 80× 40× 40× |
|
| 170 to 190 | 26 | 104× 52× 52× |

| 190 to 215 | 38 | 76× 76× |
