World of Warcraft: Forever Cooking Leveling Guide

You can level Cooking from 1 to 300 with meat and eggs from the Auction House. Every dish in this guide uses a regular cooking fire, so you can reach 300 without leveling Fishing or building an Iron Oven. Buy the meat and eggs on the Auction House or use what you pick up while leveling. Buy your spices from a Cooking Supplies vendor. The last three items in the list are for the Artisan Cooking quest. You can buy Alterac Swiss from Ben Trias in Stormwind or Innkeeper Abeqwa at Freewind Post in Thousand Needles.

The shopping list assumes you follow the recipes in the tables. Each row shows the total ingredients for that step, so stop when you reach the listed skill. Yellow and green recipes can take extra crafts. Buy the last few stacks as you need them, especially after 285.

Find a cooking fire near your trainer and make Roasted Boar Meat with Chunk of Boar Meat or Charred Wolf Meat with Stringy Wolf Meat. You start with both recipes, and each uses one piece of meat. Buy whichever is cheaper or use a mix of both until 50.

At 50, learn Journeyman Cooking and Coyote Steak from a Cooking trainer. Each steak gives a skill point until 90. If Coyote Meat is expensive on your realm, learn Boiled Clams instead. The skill range is the same, and each craft uses one Clam Meat and one Refreshing Spring Water.

Keep making Coyote Steak or Boiled Clams until 90, then switch to Dry Pork Ribs. A Cooking trainer teaches the ribs at 80, so you can pick up the recipe while you finish the previous step.

At 125, read the Expert Cookbook to raise your skill cap to 225. Alliance players can buy the book from Shandrina at Silverwind Refuge in Ashenvale. Horde players can buy it from Wulan at Shadowprey Village in Desolace. You can also find it on the Auction House.

At 130, switch to Curiously Tasty Omelet. Alliance players can buy Recipe: Curiously Tasty Omelet from Kendor Kabonka in Old Town in Stormwind. Horde players can buy it from Keena at Hammerfall in Arathi Highlands. Keena also sells Recipe: Roast Raptor, so Horde players can pick up both recipes in one visit.

Keep making Curiously Tasty Omelet until 175, then switch from Raptor Egg to Raptor Flesh for Roast Raptor. Both recipes use Hot Spices.

Buy Recipe: Roast Raptor from Hammon Karwn at Refuge Pointe for Alliance or Keena at Hammerfall for Horde. Both vendors are in Arathi Highlands. The roast turns yellow at 215. Gather the quest materials listed below before heading to Gadgetzan at 225.

Once you have 225 Cooking and your character is at least level 35, bring 12× Giant Egg, 10× Zesty Clam Meat, and 20× Alterac Swiss to Dirge Quikcleave in the Gadgetzan inn in Tanaris. Complete Clamlette Surprise to unlock Artisan Cooking, then buy Recipe: Tender Wolf Steak from Dirge before you leave.

Make Tender Wolf Steak from 225 to 300. The recipe turns yellow at 265, green at 285, and gray at 305. Based on those breakpoints, expect to use around 50 Tender Wolf Meat for the last 15 points alone. Buy it in small batches as you get close to 300.

If eggs are cheaper on your realm, Himmik in Everlook in Winterspring sells Recipe: Monster Omelet to both factions. Monster Omelet has the same skill breakpoints as Tender Wolf Steak. For each craft you replace, buy 1× Giant Egg and 2× Soothing Spices. Keep the 12 eggs for the Artisan quest separate.
