On this page, you will find out the best PvE talent choices and builds for your Survival Hunter in WoW Forever.
Survival Hunter Talent Builds for World of Warcraft: Forever
Survival Hunter has several playstyles in Forever, and is the specialization that also allows for a full melee build should you want to go that route. The talent builds shown in this guide are the current top-performing simulated builds, and are of course subject to change once the game properly launches on November 4th.
For the time being, it is still uncertain whether pets will outperform
Lone Wolf or vice
versa, but for now they are expected to be fairly close to each other. Playing with
Lone Wolf
allows you to focus purely on your rotation without the additional micromanagement required for your pet.
Melee Hunter Build
The first talent build we recommend is the melee hunter build. This build is perfect for those that want to dedicate
themselves to playing up close and personal in melee range for the majority of their time.
You will still want to run out and build some distance for the occasional ranged attack,
such as
Multi-Shot. As
Lacerating Strikes is rather
weak for the time being, it is not worth taking, and instead you will want to go down the Beast Mastery
tree to pick up
Summon Hawk, as this ability can be used in melee range and shares a cooldown with
Arcane Shot.
With your remaining talents you will want to pick up
Lethal Attacks and
Careful Aim for
the additional critical strike chance and attack power.
Melee-Weaving Ranged Talent Build
The second Survival Hunter talent build you can go for is the melee-weaving ranged build.
This will be your more typical Hunter playstyle where you attack from ranged
distance, and run into melee range to use
Raptor Strike and
Strider Kick
for additional damage. This build takes
Trueshot Aura, but if your raid has another
hunter providing this buff you can pick up
Lacerating Strikes for a small
additional increase in damage instead.
Ranged-Only Talent Build
The final build for Survival Hunter is the classic purely ranged playstyle. While we
expect it to be weaker than a full melee build, or melee weaving, it is still expected to
perform relatively well and is more than playable, should you prefer a more relaxed and
classic Hunter-feel for your playstyle. Similar to the melee-weaving build, if another
Hunter in your raid is already providing
Trueshot Aura then you can opt for
taking another point in
Mortal Shots and get 5/5.
