Welcome to the gear page of our Amara Elemental Ricochet build, where you will find the best-in-slot gear for that build and the stat priority you need to follow for each slot.

1.

Structure of This Guide

This Amara Elemental Fist Over Matter build guide is split in 3 different pages. The other 2 pages are the build overview and the skills, which you can access by clicking the buttons below.

Best-in-slot Gear

For this build, you should look for weapons with high Elemental Damage effects, most of which belong to the Maliwan manufacturer. The primary gun to aim for is Projectile Recursion. Its high Elemental Damage combined with its ricochet effect allows it to stack with the ricochet from Indiscriminate Indiscriminate to spread your damage even faster. An alternative gun of choice is the Hellshock pistol which also has high Elemental Damage, with a lesser ricochet effect.

The aforementioned guns are excellent at taking down groups of enemies, but lack damage when it comes to taking down single enemies. For your second gun slot you should look for a weapon with strong single-target damage to help fill this gap in your arsenal. This will help you finish off any remaining enemies out of a group, or deal the single-target damage needed to finish off an enemy when you need a second wind. Laser-Sploder and Rowan's Call are great choices for this.

If you wish to kill bosses with this build, you can look for a high-damage weapon that benefits from critical hits for your third gun slot. The King's Call/Queen's Call pistol are ideal for this as they provide huge amounts of damage when hitting the weak spots of enemies. Alternatively, the Lyuda sniper rifle is also a strong second choice due to its high amount of burst damage.

For Class Mods, Elementalist naturally fits this build the most, providing yet another way to spread your damage amongst enemies when Grasping enemies with Ties that Bind Ties that Bind. Alternatively, Phasezerker is also a reasonable alternative that will help you keep up your Rush stacks and also provide a small boost to them.

Electric Banjo is the only Artifact of importance when it comes to Elemental Ricochet builds. The ambiguously worded effect of the weapon gives you a 20% chance per bullet to generate lightning that arcs between enemies. This takes advantage of your elemental skills, especially Tempest Tempest, to deal further elemental damage to enemies in the area. Alternatively you can look for the Last Stand Epic Artifact or any Legendary Artifact with Last Stand as part of its effect. This will greatly increase your survivability by giving you 5 seconds of invulnerability when your Health drops below 50%, with a 40-second cooldown.

In this build, shields are used purely for defensive purposes to help you survive, but can be used in different ways. With optimal gearing, your best choice is Rough Rider. This will give you a natural reduction to all damage and an increase to your Health pool to take advantage of the Life Steal from Sustainment Sustainment, with the drawback of having no rechargeable shield. The second option, The Transformer, gives you complete immunity to all Shock damage. This allows you to completely negate all damage from one of the elements, which can add up a lot when facing a large group of enemies. The last shield option is Stop-Gap, which will provide you with temporary immunity each time your shield is fully depleted, and can work alongside the effect of Last Stand to give you further immunity. This can be a better option while you are still building up your gear and do not have optimal damage to utilise your Sustainment skill.

The last gear slot, Grenade Mods, are non-essential for the build, but can add a little bit more damage in niche situations. The most useful part of Grenade Mods is that most options inflict good Elemental Damage, allowing you to make use of skills like Tempest Tempest to boost your damage. The ideal choice of Grenade Mod is Hex, due to its ability to linger around and deal good amounts of Elemental Damage over time. Another storng alternative is Quasar that will draw enemies in, similar to your Allure Allure Augment, making it easier to group up and damage enemies. The last option is Tran-fusion, which can be used purely for survival purposes as its 120% lifesteal effect can sometimes keep you alive in tough situations.

3.

Anointed Rolls

Anointed rolls are special additional effects that can appear on weapons and shields at higher levels. The special effects relate to the use of action skills and provide powerful temporary buffs.

For this Elemental Ricochet build, there are no build-defining Anointments available, but most options are reasonable. Of the options available, the 'On Action Skill End, Weapon Status Effect Damage & Chance are increased by 75% for a short time'. This will give a nice boost to your damage overall, but it is unfortunately not in effect until after your Ties that Bind Ties that Bind has ended.

Alternatively, there are a bunch of anointments that will boost your weapon damage after your Action Skill has ended. These include 'On Action Skill End, Weapon Damage is increased by 100% for a short time', 'On Action Skill End, Deal 125% more Weapon Damage to Badass, Named, and Boss enemies for a short time' and 'On Action Skill End, the next 2 magazines will have 50% additional bonus Element damage'. While weapon damage boost may not be ideal for this build, any boosts will still give bonus Elemental Damage via Infusion Infusion.

4.

Alternative Gear from Missions

There are a few mission rewards throughout the game to support elemental builds, but they are significantly weaker than end-game Legendary weapons and often only marginally better than Rare and Epic drops with good Elemental Damage. However, there are still a couple of suggestions you can pick up throughout your playthrough of the game.

While progressing through Eden-6, in the boss fight against Aurelia Hammerlock in the Blackbarrel Cellars, she has the chance to drop The Ice Queen sniper rifle. This gun has good overall damage and will ricochet two cryo bullets on critical hits, getting you well on your way with your ricochet build.

While on Skywell-27, you can complete the Space-Laser Tag side mission. Doing so will reward you with the Refined Starkiller pistol, which will shoot a continuous laser beam of incendiary damage at your opponents, for good amounts of Elemental Damage.
