On this page, you will learn how to optimize the rotation of your Fury Warrior in both single-target and multiple-target PvE situations in WoW Forever. We also have advanced sections about cooldowns, procs, etc. in order to minmax your DPS.
Fury Warrior Gameplay and Rotation Guide
Fury fights with two weapons, using
Whirlwind and
Bloodthirst as its main attacks while melee critical strikes activate
Flurry. Most of your rotation takes place in
Berserker Stance.
Rage limits how many attacks you can use, so work down the priorities below
and save enough for your next important ability.
Heroic Strike and
Cleave are for extra Rage after those attacks, rather than buttons
to queue on every swing.
Single-Target Rotation
You should work your way down this priority list, but make sure to consider saving
Rage instead of spending it on a lower priority attack, if it would delay one higher
on the list. Use
Reckless Swings when you need more Rage, have health to
spare, and can keep attacking.
- Maintain Buffs and Debuffs
Battle Shout: Keep the Attack Power buff active on yourself and
nearby group members.
Sunder Armor: Build five stacks at the start of the pull. Refresh
them before they expire if you're responsible for the Armor debuff.
Demoralizing Shout: Maintain its melee Attack Power reduction
when needed and nobody else is covering it.
Thunder Clap: Maintain the attack speed reduction when needed.
Use it in
Battle Stance; it affects up to four nearby enemies.
Whirlwind- Use it whenever it's ready, including during the execute phase.
Bloodthirst
Execute- Only available when the target is at 20% health or lower.
Overpower- When a proc is available and you have less than 25 Rage, switch to
Battle Stance to use it.
- When a proc is available and you have less than 25 Rage, switch to
Spearing Strike, if talented- Use it against Giants and Dragonkin when you're already in
Battle Stance.
- Use it against Giants and Dragonkin when you're already in
Rend- Apply it while you're in
Battle Stance, letting the existing
bleed finish before refreshing it.
- Apply it while you're in
Hamstring- Use spare Rage to fish for Windfury procs (if you have a Shaman in your party) and crits that refresh
Flurry charges when your higher priority attacks are unavailable.
- Use spare Rage to fish for Windfury procs (if you have a Shaman in your party) and crits that refresh
Heroic Strike- Queue it only with extra Rage, leaving enough for your higher-priority attacks.
FAQWhat Takes Priority During the Execute Phase?
Whirlwind comes first, followed by
Bloodthirst
if you have more than 2,000 Attack Power. Otherwise, use
Execute
ahead of Bloodthirst. Save enough Rage for Whirlwind when it's about to
come off cooldown so an Execute doesn't delay it.
AoE Rotation
Keep enemies close enough for
Whirlwind to hit them, and give
the tank time to gather the pack before starting. It hits up to four nearby
enemies, while
Cleave adds damage to a second enemy when you have
Rage to spare. Use
Reckless Swings when you need more Rage, have health
to spare, and can keep attacking.
Whirlwind- Use it whenever it's ready, including during the execute phase.
Bloodthirst
Execute- Use it on a target at 20% health or lower, without delaying
your next
Whirlwind.
- Use it on a target at 20% health or lower, without delaying
your next
Cleave- Use it instead of
Heroic Strike when a second enemy is in range
and you have extra Rage.
- Use it instead of
FAQWhich Stance Should I Use as a Fury Warrior?
Stay in
Berserker Stance for most of the fight so
Whirlwind,
Pummel, and
Intercept are
available. Switch to
Battle Stance for an available
Overpower proc when you're below 25 Rage, and fit in
Spearing Strike against Giants or Dragonkin if talented and
Rend while you're there. Return to Berserker Stance for your
main rotation, or use
Defensive Stance when you need an ability
that requires it.
Tactical Mastery lets you retain 10 Rage when changing stances,
and
Improved Tactical Mastery can raise that limit to 25. Spend Rage
above the amount you can retain before switching when you can, and avoid
repeated changes that throw away more Rage than the extra attack is worth.
Important Spells
Whirlwind- Attacks up to four enemies within 8 yards with both weapons and
requires
Berserker Stance. It costs 25 Rage before bonuses, with
Raging Blows reducing its Rage cost.
Improved Whirlwind reduces its cooldown to 8 seconds and
increases its damage against the closest enemy by 30%. Use it ahead
of
Bloodthirst and
Execute, even against a single
target and during the execute phase.
- Attacks up to four enemies within 8 yards with both weapons and
requires
Bloodthirst
Execute- Becomes available when the enemy is at 20% health or lower and works in
Battle Stance or
Berserker Stance. It costs 15 Rage before
talent bonuses and spends your remaining Rage for additional damage, so one
cast can empty most or all of your bar.
Improved Execute reduces
the initial cost, making it easier to use as Rage comes in.
- Becomes available when the enemy is at 20% health or lower and works in
Overpower- Becomes available after an enemy dodges, costs 5 Rage, and can't be
blocked, dodged, or parried. It requires
Battle Stance, so only
switch for a proc when you're below 25 Rage.
Improved Overpower
increases its Critical Strike Chance.
- Becomes available after an enemy dodges, costs 5 Rage, and can't be
blocked, dodged, or parried. It requires
Spearing Strike, if talented- Is an instant attack in
Battle Stance with a 20-second
cooldown and a 15 Rage cost. Its bonus weapon damage against Giants and
Dragonkin makes it worth using when you're already in Battle Stance
against those enemies.
- Is an instant attack in
Rend- Deals bleed damage that scales with Attack Power and can critically
strike. Apply it while you're already in
Battle Stance, letting
the existing bleed finish before refreshing it. Skip a new application if
the enemy is about to die.
- Deals bleed damage that scales with Attack Power and can critically
strike. Apply it while you're already in
Flurry- Increases your attack speed for the next three swings after a melee critical strike, including crits from your auto attacks and melee abilities.
Dual Wield Specialization- Increases the damage and Rage generated by your offhand attacks.
Furious Precision instead improves the offhand's Hit Chance, while
Unbridled Wrath can generate additional Rage from weapon hits.
- Increases the damage and Rage generated by your offhand attacks.
Hamstring- Costs 10 Rage and deals a small amount of damage while slowing the
target. Use it to fish for Windfury procs when you have Rage left after
your main attacks. Its crits can refresh
Flurry charges and, with
Deep Wounds, add bleed damage. Don't spend Rage on another attempt
when you need it for a higher-priority attack.
- Costs 10 Rage and deals a small amount of damage while slowing the
target. Use it to fish for Windfury procs when you have Rage left after
your main attacks. Its crits can refresh
Heroic Strike- Adds damage to your next main hand swing, with
Improved Heroic Strike reducing its Rage cost. It replaces that
auto attack rather than adding a separate hit between swings, so you pay
its Rage cost and give up the Rage that swing would normally generate.
Queue it when you can afford that cost without delaying your other attacks.
- Adds damage to your next main hand swing, with
Cleave- Also replaces your next main hand auto attack, but hits a second
nearby enemy.
Raging Blows can reduce its Rage cost. Use it in
place of
Heroic Strike when both enemies are in range, while
still leaving enough Rage for your main attacks.
- Also replaces your next main hand auto attack, but hits a second
nearby enemy.
FAQDoes Heroic Strike Stop Both Weapons from Generating Rage?
No.
Heroic Strike and
Cleave replace your next
main hand auto attack, so that swing loses its normal Rage generation.
Your offhand continues swinging and generating Rage.
Cooldowns and Defensives
Bloodrage- Trades 20% of your base health for 10 Rage immediately and another 10 over 10 seconds, with a 1-minute cooldown. Use it when you have room for the Rage and need it for your attacks, including at the start of a pull.
Reckless Swings- Costs 25% of your base health and makes your next four melee attacks generate 5 additional Rage each. The effect lasts 8 seconds and the ability has a 15-second cooldown, so use it when you have room for the extra Rage, enough health to pay the cost, and can keep attacking.
Death Wish- Increases Physical damage by 20% and grants Fear immunity for 30 seconds, but also increases all damage taken by 5%. It costs 10 Rage and has a 3-minute cooldown. Use it when you can stay on the target and attack for most of the buff, with Rage saved beforehand for your main attacks.
Recklessness- Grants 100% additional Critical Strike Chance
and prevents Fear for 15 seconds, but also increases damage taken by
20%. It requires
Berserker Stance to activate and has a
30-minute cooldown, so use it when you can stay in melee and safely benefit
from the extra crits. Make sure you have Rage available to spend during it.
- Grants 100% additional Critical Strike Chance
and prevents Fear for 15 seconds, but also increases damage taken by
20%. It requires
FAQShould I Use Death Wish and Recklessness Together?
You can combine
Death Wish and
Recklessness for
a damage window when you can stay in melee and survive the increased
incoming damage. Their cooldowns are very different, so don't hold every
Death Wish waiting for Recklessness to become available.
Berserker Rage- Removes and grants temporary immunity to Fear
and Incapacitate effects, while increasing the Rage you generate from taking
damage. It requires
Berserker Stance and has a 30-second cooldown.
Save it for a Fear when one is coming.
Improved Berserker Rage can add immediate Rage generation and
remove movement impairing effects, giving the ability another use when
you're slowed or rooted.
- Removes and grants temporary immunity to Fear
and Incapacitate effects, while increasing the Rage you generate from taking
damage. It requires
Retaliation- Counterattacks enemies that hit you with melee
attacks from the front for 15 seconds, up to 30 counterattacks. It requires
Battle Stance and has a 15-minute cooldown. It can help when melee
enemies are attacking you, but does little for your damage while the tank
has their attention.
- Counterattacks enemies that hit you with melee
attacks from the front for 15 seconds, up to 30 counterattacks. It requires
Shield Wall- Reduces damage taken by 60% for 12 seconds,
but requires
Defensive Stance and a shield. Keep a one handed weapon
and shield ready to equip for emergencies, and use it before the hit you're
trying to survive. It has a 15-minute cooldown.
- Reduces damage taken by 60% for 12 seconds,
but requires
Victory Rush- Is a free attack that heals 10% of your maximum health after killing a nontrivial enemy. You have 20 seconds to use it, and the ability has a 30-second cooldown. Use the opportunity while fighting adds or moving through a dungeon, particularly when you're missing health.
Gore Drinker, if talented- This talent lets
Enrage,
Berserker Rage,
Bloodrage,
Death Wish, and
Bloodthirst cause
your next three melee attacks to restore health.
- This talent lets
Recklessness,
Shield Wall, and
Retaliation have separate cooldowns, so using one doesn't lock you
out of the others.
Utility
Keep enough Rage available when you're responsible for stopping a cast, and account for the stance change before the spell is nearly finished.
Pummel- Is your interrupt in
Berserker Stance and
doesn't require a shield.
- Is your interrupt in
Shield Bash- Gives you an alternative in
Battle Stance or
Defensive Stance with a shield equipped.
- Gives you an alternative in
Disarm- Can reduce the damage from an enemy's weapon attacks
when it's susceptible, but requires
Defensive Stance.
- Can reduce the damage from an enemy's weapon attacks
when it's susceptible, but requires
Intimidating Shout- Makes your target cower and nearby enemies flee. It can buy time during a bad pull, though fleeing enemies can reach other packs, so check what's around you before using it.
Piercing Howl, if talented- Slows nearby enemies by 50% for 6 seconds. It can help you get away from several enemies or keep them from reaching a party member.
Taunt- Requires
Defensive Stance and can pull an
enemy back onto you when the group needs emergency help.
- Requires
Mocking Blow- Forces an enemy to attack you temporarily and
requires
Battle Stance.
- Forces an enemy to attack you temporarily and
requires
Challenging Shout- Forces nearby enemies to attack you temporarily.
Mobility
Charge- Closes the gap and generates Rage before combat in
Battle Stance.
- Closes the gap and generates Rage before combat in
Intercept- Gives you another way to reach an enemy and
briefly stun it during combat, but requires
Berserker Stance and
costs Rage.
Improved Intercept can shorten its cooldown.
- Gives you another way to reach an enemy and
briefly stun it during combat, but requires
