How to Make Gil Using Combat Jobs in FFXIV

Allagan tomestones are an incredibly common way to make Gil with the majority of content in the game giving them. This allows you to work on content you want, either for fun or achievements, while also making Gil at the same time.

As a general rule, the current endgame Tomestone that has no cap is best for Gil making. There's items that cost 20 of that Tomestone that are relevant to endgame crafts. For example, currently Grinding Fluid from Causality Tomes. The materials that cost 10 may have some value, but it is worth checking your market board first.

For Allagan Tomestones of Poetics, there is a wide range of items available that can give you a profit. Older crafting materials such as Gobcraft Resin can be used to make Treated Camphorwood Lumber, which is then used in a range of Primal weapons and housing decorations used by crafting.

The best method is buying Unidentifiable Shell and Unidentifiable Ore to exchange for Grade 3 Shroud Topsoil and Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil respectively. This is done by speaking to Bertana in Idyllshire (6, 5).

Roulettes directly give Gil simply for partipating, as well as Allagan Tomestones, and even Materia for specific roulettes. Completion of all roulettes will therefore give you several different sources of Gil at the same time, as well as Tomestones used for your own endgame gear.

When playing as a Tank or Healer, you can often join roulettes for an "Adventurer in Need" bonus. This gives you extra Gil, experience, Cracked Anthocluster and Cracked Dendrocluster, which can be exchanged for Materia. While you can repeatedly farm this bonus if you wished, it is not recommended. Just use the bonus as a way to get extra gil while you run roulettes as you normally would.

Hunting offers some really easy ways to obtain Gil. Firstly, Hunts give you Allagan Tomestones depending on which region you hunt in, which can then be exchanged for materials to sell. Hunts also have a chance to give you Cracked Anthocluster to exchange for Materia, and come with their own currencies that can be used to buy even more Materia.

This late in the expansion, materia does have a lot less value and less demand. Hunt trains still remain a popular farming method.

To join a Hunt Train, there are a large range of Linkshells and Discord servers available. Discord is best used to check for time schedules for when a Hunt Train will begin or is in progress, while Linkshells are great for communication in general.

There are a range of Hunt servers you can find using Discord's Server Search, Google, or even a server listing in other popular FFXIV Discord servers. You just want to ensure it is for your Data Center. As for Linkshells, simply shout in game next time you are at a Hunt and someone will likely invite you.

Treasure maps and Treasure Dungeons are some of the best ways to make Gil with combat classes. Maps themselves are relatively cheap most of the time unless a new dungeon has just been added. Gathering classes can gather one map a day with pretty low gear stats.

Ideally, you always want to use the maps that are "8 player advised". You can often easily run these with 3-5 players, but the main reason is they offer a chance at a special dungeon where most of your profit will be made.

The only downside to this method is that you generally want multiple people to run it with you. This can make things more complicated in terms of loot rules, with some running "need all" and some running that only the map owner can need on their specific map. Always make sure the rules are clarified on any Party Finder you join or make.

Unlock the hidden power of your fourth gathering class and farm enemies and their drops in the open world! These materials can at times be incredibly lucretive due to the difficulties and effort required in obtaining them.

If possible, you can use Mug to gain additional items.

Some popular items may be:

• Lunatender Blossom, from Lunatenders in Mare Lamentorum (26, 31)
• Ophiotauros Hide, from Ophiotauros in Elpis (13, 9)
• Mousse Flesh, from Mousse in Mare Lamentorum (13, 25)
• Ovibos Milk, from Ovibos in Garlemald (18, 28)

You can also use retainers to farm these items for you.

Both types of Exploratory content have several ways you can obtain rare items and cosmetics, such as FATEs, treasure drops and even selling the skills and actions you can obtain.

Generally, this does require some invement into the content already which you may not have.

One of the most popular methods in Eureka is called the "Bunny Farm", where you farm a specific FATE, typically in Pyros or Hydatos. The chests normally have 5k-100k Gil inside for simply getting them, as well as a range of Logograms, and even a chance at the Eldthurs Horn mount.

There are also a few rare FATEs that can drop rare minions and boss drops that you can also sell. People will normally call these in chat giving you time between Bunny FATEs.

One of the most popular methods via Bozja is called "Cluster Farming". You shout in chat and group up with other players to farm a few hundred Clusters an hour. Speak to the Resistance Supplier in the camps in either the Southern Front or Zandor to exchange your Clusters for items. Many of these items are cosmetic or have a one time use making them incredibly valuable and desireable.

Some of the most profitable items are:

• Ballroom Etiquette - Pointed Misgivings
• Construct 14 Identification Key
• Ballroom Etiquette - Dark Entreaty
• Pleasant Dot Parasol
• Fragments such as Forgotten Fragment of Divinity

What exact cosmetics and fragments are best depends on your server, so always do your research.

Deep Dungeons are a type of content available in FFXIV offering random loot which you can then sell to make Gil. As you make your ways up the higher floors, you will obtain new sacks and a higher chance at more valuable loot.

For Palace of the Dead this includes:

• Dyes such as General-purpose Pure White Dye from Silver-trimmed Sack.
• Night Pegasus Whistle from Gold-trimmed Sack.
• Primal Weapons such as Dead Hive Battleaxe from Gold-trimmed Sack, with less valuable weapons from the Silver-trimmed Sack.

For Heaven on High this includes:

• Dodo Horn from Platinum-haloed Sack.
• Thordan and Sephirot weapons from Platinum-haloed Sack.

For Eureka Orthos this includes:

• Orthos Craklaw Horn from Gold-tinged Sack.
• Allagan Terminal Alpha from Gold-tinged Sack.
• Private Pachypodium from Silver-tinged Sack.

If your static is looking for some extra Gil, supporting other players with their clear can be the way to go. Some players in game may not have the time or static to clear harder content and may instead be looking for people who can essentially pay for a carry or for specific loot. This may be so that they can get a mount from an Extreme Trial after enough runs or even some endgame gear from Savage.

This can come with certain caveats and the group may need to be strong enough to carry a player through that has little understanding of the fight, meaning 7 players need to have the DPS of 8 people.

As for prices, these can vary massively depending on the Data Center, what type of content, and even what loot, so make sure to do market research into your Data Center.

Completion of FATEs will give you Bicolored Gemstones, a currency that you can use in various expansion zones to exchange for materials. Over time you also rank up that zone by completing more FATEs. If every zone is ranked up, you will obtain exclusive materials from vendors that can be even more profitable.

At max rank however, you can purchase Bicolor Gemstone Voucher which can be immediately sold or used to purcahse either a Wivre Horn or Fallen Angel Wings for 500 vouchers each. Depending on the price of the vouchers, it may be more worth selling them, or even buying them to exchange for the mount or wings.
