Children's Week 2026 Guide for World of Warcraft
Children's Week is the World of Warcraft counterpart of Children's Day, a Japanese celebration that is traditionally held on the 5th of May.
In World of Warcraft, the event is about taking care of a few children, orphaned by the many wars that ravaged Azeroth over the years.
The event mostly revolves around traveling through Azeroth with orphans you have taken under your wing for the week, showing them places they have always dreamed of seeing, and meeting iconic Warcraft characters.
Overview
Children's Week is a rather short 1-week event, during which you will spend your time traveling with various orphans in order to complete a variety of tasks for them.
Date and Timeline
Children's Week is a 1-week event (as its name suggests). This year, the event starts on April 27 and ends on May 4th.
There are no daily tasks, so the entire event can be completed in a single day, if you wish to do so.
Locations
You will find orphans eagerly awaiting Children's Week in the following cities:
- Stormwind/Orgrimmar
- Shattrath
- Northrend Dalaran
- Boralus/Dazar'Alor
- Dornogal
From there, you will have to travel through zones from each of the associated expansions. Doing the quests with a Mage friend, being a Mage, being an Engineer, or being a Mage Engineer, will considerably reduce the time you spend traveling; various city Hearthstone toys, Challenge Mode portals, and Mythic+ portals will also come in very handy!
Eligibility
For the Vanilla Children's Week Stormwind/Orgrimmar quest line, you need to be level 10.
For the Shattrath quest line, you need to be level 35.
For the Northrend quest line, you need to be level 35.
Orphans
Orphans are NPCs that will accompany you while you are doing the quest lines. Each orphan will present you with an associated quest line; you will be able to summon and dismiss your orphan at will. They behave like non-combat pets, in the sense that they cannot be attacked or killed.
Rewards
The Children's Week event rewards pets, weapon transmogs, and achievements.
Pets
Each orphan's quest line can only be done once a year per character. Upon
the completion of your journey with a specific orphan, you are presented with a
selection of different rewards, including pets, a bag of pet supplies, a bag of gold,
or a
Well-loved Figurine (used to purchase previous expansions' pets).
You will need to complete these quest lines on several characters to gather
all the pet rewards, which are account bound. If you only complete the event on
one character, gathering the rewards will take you several years, though this timeline
has been sped up considerably by the 2025 addition of the
Well-loved Figurine;
previous years' pets can be purchased from any Children's Week vendor for 1
Well-loved Figurine
each.

You will begin the full questline by speaking with Ullna at Stoneshaper's Atrium (55.3, 27.1), in Dornogal. Pick up Children's Week in Dornogal to get started.
NOTE: Almost the entirety of each Khaz Algar orphan's questline requires them to be out and actively following you to trigger some kind of roleplay or objective completion. If you find you are having difficulty completing an objective, try dismissing your orphan and approaching the designated area again on foot, or run around the area with the orphan at your side. They can be finicky!

- When this roleplay moment concludes, you are ready to finish up Destien's day!
Completion
When Destien has finished up with Linny Leadfinger and the Widow, The Wondrous Weave is complete! You can turn this quest in to Ullna, who is visiting the Weaver's Lair as well. She will have the next quest ready for you.
Threadis, the Nerubian Orphan
Next, adventurers will meet Threadis, a teeny Nerubian baby who can't even speak yet! Despite their age, Threadis is a budding engineer who wants to learn all there is to know about engineering from the inventive Goblins of Undermine.
Introductory Quest
Accept The Eager Engineer to receive the
Nerubian Orphan Whistle.
Threadis has eight requests in Undermine; if you have not unlocked
this zone, you will receive a pass for the length of Children's Week.
The Eager Engineer
- Take Threadis to visit the rocket drill to Undermine
- You cannot receive objective credit for reaching Undermine via the teleport. You MUST take the rocket drill in Gutterville, Ringing Deeps!
- Talk to Stelliya at 73.0, 73.1 to secure transportation to Undermine on the rocket drill.
- Take Threadis and Speak to Security
- Daznak Scratchbolt, Security, will meet you at Grand Slam Central Station.
- Interact with Daznak Scratchbolt to explain why you and Threadis are there.
- Fill out Paperwork for Threadis
- Daznak Scratchbolt will help you fill out declaration paperwork for Threadis, and slip the little Nerubian a coupon for the Kaja'Cola stall nearby.
- Noticing Threadis' helpful robot pet, he will also suggest you visit the engineer college in Undermine.
- Take Threadis to the Kaja'Cola Stand in Slam Central Station
- The food stall is right outside the station proper, at 23.3, 52.2, run by Grillmaster Broos.
- Use Threadis's Airship Dog Coupon in Slam Central Station
- When you are close enough to Broos and the food stall, his roleplay with Threadis will trigger.
- Take Threadis to the College
- When Threadis has their snack, you are free to navigate up to Hovel Hill and the college.
- Cross the street at Slam Central Station and go up the stairs at 30.0, 47.8. Another roleplay event will trigger when you reach the college.
- Discover a new opportunity for Threadis
- You will not need to do anything else for Threadis now. Allow the roleplay to finish up, and your day with the intrepid little engineer is complete!
Completion
When Threadis has finished their first official visit to college, The Eager Engineer is complete! You can turn this quest in to Ullna, who is visiting Li'l Guys Orphanage in Undermine. She will have the final leg of the quest line ready for you.
Kitzy, the Goblin Orphan
Finally, adventurers will meet Kitzy the Undermine goblin. She really, REALLY wants to meet a stormrook, so prepare to spend some quality time with her at the Rookery in Dornogal.
Introductory Quest

Goblin Orphan Whistle.
Kitzy has eight requests, but they all take place right in Dornogal.

- Remember to have Kitzy with you to trigger the roleplay event before talking with Krinn.
- Return to the Rooks
- Take Kitzy back to Stormrider Torena.
- From here on out, the quest is just roleplay, no more running around, so you are free to relax.
- Kitzy Rides the Rook
- Kitzy's quest line is complete when she bids the rooks goodbye.
Completion
Visions of Stormrooks dancing through her head, Kitzy's day is complete! You will turn in Recreation for Rooks to Ullna, of course, who is back in Dornogal where she started. Pick up A Brighter Tomorrow from her.

Achievements How-To
Aw, Isn't It Cute?
Aw, Isn't It Cute? simply requires you complete any of the Children's Week
questlines. The achievement will be automatically rewarded once you select and learn
the pet reward of your choice.
Bad Example
Bad Example requires you to eat the following food while your orphan
is with you:
Tigule and Foror's Strawberry Ice Cream- sold by Alowicious Czervik in Orgrimmar, in front of the Broken Tusk between the Auction House and the main gate;
- sold by Emmithue Smails in Stormwind, between the Bank and the Auction House in the Trade District.
Dalaran Brownie,
Dalaran Doughnut, and
Red Velvet Cupcake- sold by Aimee in Dalaran, outside the Bank of Dalaran.
Lovely Cake Slice- Created by a
Lovely Cake, sold by Aimee in Dalaran.
- Created by a
Tasty Cupcake and
Delicious Chocolate Cake, both made with Cooking.
Daily Chores
Daily Chores simply requires you to complete five daily quests while
your orphan is with you.
Note that your orphan only needs to be there when you turn in the quests, not when you are actually doing them.
Hail To The King, Baby
Hail To The King, Baby simply requires you to kill King Ymiron in
Utgarde Pinnacle while your orphan is with you.
Home Alone
Home Alone is very simple and requires you to use your Hearthstone while
your orphan is with you.
School of Hard Knocks
As of 2022,
School of Hard Knocks is no longer required for the
For The Children meta-achievement.
School of Hard Knocks requires you to achieve various feats in Battlegrounds
while your orphan is with you. There is a lot of controversy surrounding this
achievement, as many players join Battlegrounds during Children's Week
and only focus on completing
School of Hard Knocks rather than trying to
play the Battleground properly.
In any case,
School of Hard Knocks is very hard to complete, as you
need to achieve the following feats (while your orphan is with you):
- Capture the flag in Eye of the Storm;
- Assault a flag in Arathi Basin;
- Assault a tower in Alterac Valley;
- Return a fallen flag in Warsong Gulch.
The difficulty mostly comes from the number of players who will want to complete their objective at the same time as you, especially in Alterac Valley.
Veteran Nanny
Veteran Nanny will require you to complete the Shattrath quest line
with the same character in 3 different years, each time choosing a different pet
reward.

Week for
