Glory of the Venomous Raider - Venomous Abyss Meta Achievement

Glory of the Venomous Raider - Venomous Abyss Meta Achievement

Last Updated: Aug 5, 2026 - 1:38 AM (5d ago)

The Venomous Abyss, hidden away in the mists of Zul'Aman's Coiled Isle, is the Midnight Season 2 raid. Read on to learn how to complete Midnight Season 2's raid meta achievement within the Venomous Abyss.

1.

Introduction

As with every new competitive World of Warcraft season, Midnight Season 2 introduces a vast array of new achievements, including the new raid meta achievement Glory of the Venomous Raider Icon Glory of the Venomous Raider.

The Venomous Abyss is the only raid releasing with Midnight Patch 12.1 (if we do not count the Lair raid), so players won't have to wait multiple weeks this time around. As soon as The Venomous Abyss opens, this meta achievement is completable.

Full Raid Guides

While Glory of the Venomous Raider can be completed entirely on Normal difficulty, we would still recommend familiarizing yourself with the fights before attempting it! Often, these meta achievements require raiders to navigate the regular boss mechanics while also interacting with extra mobs or NPCs, moving to new locations, or even playing through additional mechanics altogether.

Glory of the Venomous Raider Rewards

Of course, completing all of the achievements discussed in the below sections will reward you with the Glory of the Venomous Raider Icon Glory of the Venomous Raider achievement. However, the most coveted reward for each raid meta is, of course, the mount.

Midnight Season 2's raid meta rewards players with a vibrant and gorgeous new serpent model, the Crimson Venomfang Icon Crimson Venomfang.

As an extra benefit, the Ula'tek achievement, No Egg Scramble Icon No Egg Scramble, also comes with its own reward: Ula'took Icon Ula'took! This cute little battle pet is a delightful additional surprise.

4.

Required Achievements

The Venomous Abyss is an eight boss raid, ending with the frighteningly malicious matriarch herself, Ula'tek.

Remember: These achievements are new content and they have not yet been played. The following are our best estimations at a strategy based entirely on PTR information, which is subject to change at any point. We will crystallize and refine strategies over the next few weeks as we get our hands on the content. Don't forget to let us know if you find some neat tech to get these done!

4.1.

Well, Well, Little Sky

Well, Well, Little Sky Icon Well, Well, Little Sky: Defeat Nek'zali the Soulcoiler after returning Kupamanduka to the Soulcoil Well in The Venomous Abyss on Normal difficulty or higher.

Suspected Strategy: Kupamanduka is a venom-tinged frog model with no confirmed location on the PTR, so this is likely an achievement that requires players to befriend, coax, lead, or push (sorry, little buddy!) him into the Soulcoil Well in the center of Nek'zali the Soulcoiler's room. There may be some extra mechanics associated with dropping a frog in the well, as the remainder of the fight is designed around keeping mobs OUT of the well, but I suppose we shall soon see what happens!

4.2.

Is Venom Stasis A Joke To You?

Is Venom Stasis A Joke To You? Icon Is Venom Stasis A Joke To You?: Defeat the Entombed Sentinels after each Sentinel uses Vitriolic Stasis to restore more than half its total health in The Venomous Abyss on Normal difficulty or higher.

Suspected Strategy: Vitriolic Stasis Icon Vitriolic Stasis is a normal part of this fight that occurs when the Sentinels reach 100 energy and rush together. They will heal until they have evened out their health pools. Likely, the ideal strategy for this fight will be to have the majority of the raid focus on one Sentinel at a time, bringing it down very low before each Stasis phase. Then, simply play out the Stasis phase before repeating the same process with the other Sentinel. When both have been brought low and healed back up, you can finish the fight as intended.

4.3.

Accidental Inclusion

Accidental Inclusion Icon Accidental Inclusion: Defeat The Lost Explorers, including Hoji, in The Venomous Abyss on Normal difficulty or higher.

Suspected Strategy: Poor little Hoji does appear to have a possessed model on the PTR, so likely we will need to involve him in the fight by feeding him a Disgusting Fish Icon Disgusting Fish, which is a normal part of the fight. Once he has been included as one of Mor'zahi's possession targets, the group will continue the encounter as normal, but may need to deal with Hoji's mechanics as well as the other three Tortollans'!

4.4.

Kept You Waiting Huh?

Kept You Waiting Huh? Icon Kept You Waiting Huh?: Defeat Vashnik after killing the Solidified Snake Venom in The Venomous Abyss on Normal difficulty or higher.

Suspected Strategy: Obviously, this is a super fun reference, but is it a super fun achievement? Based on the presence of a mob called Solidified Snake Venom, this fight may require the group to hold Vashnik at the venom fountain until it is empowered enough that the venoms he spawns create the single giant Solidified Snake Venom; it may also be that the group needs to kill enough venom blobs that they coagulate into one living creature. When the Venom spawns, the raid will switch to it, burning it down before returning to finish the fight as usual. If keeping the boss at the venom fountain for an extended duration is indeed the way to go about this achievement, you will want some BIG heals!

4.5.

Jumping Through Hoops

Jumping Through Hoops Icon Jumping Through Hoops: Defeat Sszorak while jumping through each ring that appears in The Venomous Abyss on Normal difficulty or higher.

Suspected Strategy: Given that Sszorak's mechanics are all about trying to blow players right off the platform, this achievement may require raiders to aim themselves towards various rings around the room instead. This way, whenever a wind mechanic occurs, they are blown through a ring (and then hopefully not off the platform!).

It is not yet clear if the rings are already in the boss room at any point during the fight, or whether we will need to press a button or lever to activate them, as is sometimes the case for Glory achievements.

THe wording here makes this sound like a personal achievement, which is often a little better than a binary pass-fail for the entire raid group. Some groups may benefit from staggering this achievement completion, getting just a few players through it per week until the whole raid is done.

4.6.

Taking a Bite out of Slime

Taking a Bite out of Slime Icon Taking a Bite out of Slime: Defeat the Twin Fangs after feeding Ithraz the following slimes in order during Ravenous Feast in The Venomous Abyss on Normal difficulty or higher.

  1. Crunchy Appetizer fed
  2. Sumptuous Soup fed
  3. Tasty Blob fed
  4. Jiggly Dessert fed

Suspected Strategy: I managed to find a spell for each of the four mealtime slimes on the PTR, like Crunchy Appetizer Icon Crunchy Appetizer. It appears that players will need to seek out the slimes before the fight begins, and likely the group will need a player for each slime. During the fight, the slimekeepers MUST NOT soak the Ravenous Feast Icon Ravenous Feast until it is their turn to feed Ithraz.

Currently it appears that the slimes will persist in following their player through death, although it becomes a little difficult to feed the boss when you are dead! The slimes seem to follow players for an hour. Keep in mind, though, that this is information from the PTR, and as such, is subject to change at any time!

4.7.

Watch Out Behind You

Watch Out Behind You Icon Watch Out Behind You: Defeat The Coiled Altar while all players are afflicted by Unnerving Fixation in The Venomous Abyss on Normal difficulty or higher.

Suspected Strategy: I predict this will be a frustrating achievement! Unnerving Fixation Icon Unnerving Fixation is already a part of The Coiled Altar fight during the latter two phases. Hex Lord Malacrass possesses multiple players with Dreadmarch Icon Dreadmarch, attempting to throw them off the platform. When the Dreadmarch Icon Dreadmarch is removed by DPSing the affected players, several Manifestation of Dread Icon Manifestation of Dreads spawn and cast Unnerving Fixation Icon Unnerving Fixation on random people. As every player in the raid must have an Unnerving Fixation Icon Unnerving Fixation to earn this achievement, there may be a great deal of waiting around!

It is entirely possible that Unnerving Fixation Icon Unnerving Fixation chooses players in a predictable way, in which case the achievement becomes much quicker to complete! Otherwise, this will be a luck of the draw situation until everyone has at least one Manifestation of Dread Icon Manifestation of Dread (while also not becoming possessed and jumping off).

4.8.

No Egg Scramble

No Egg Scramble Icon No Egg Scramble: Defeat Ula'tek before the Greasy Hatchling breaks in The Venomous Abyss on Normal difficulty or higher.

Suspected Strategy: As is customary now for these final bosses, Blizzard did not test Ula'tek, though we do have a dungeon journal. There are also two curious things on the PTR associated specifically with this achievement. The first is a Greasy Hatchling Icon Greasy Hatchling spell, which appears to be a 20 second debuff on players. The second is a Greasy Hatchling NPC, which looks like a big green egg. Given this information (and not much else), it seems that perhaps the raid will need to pick up the Greasy Hatchling egg at some point in the fight, and pass it to another raider every 20 seconds until the boss is defeated. Will this be a tricky juggling achievement, or something entirely different? We shall see when the raid opens the week of August 18!
