The Venomous Abyss Raid Guide

Guided by the dark whispers of Malacrass, Zul'jan has freed the forgotten broods of Ula'tek from their prison. As the monster's power grows, Zul'jarra calls upon the Champions of Azeroth to descend into the Vaults of Atal'Utek to stop her brother before the weapon is unleashed upon Azeroth.

The Venomous Abyss is located inside the Vaults of Atal'Utek, the subzone of the Coiled Isle. Inside the Vaults, the raid is located in the center of the area.

Here's a list of bosses you will face in the Venomous Abyss raid.

• Nek'zali the Soulcoiler
• Entombed Sentinels
• The Lost Explorers
• Vashnik the Malignant
• Sszorak
• The Twin Fangs
• The Coiled Altar
• Ula'tek

In the Venomous Abyss, loot item levels scale with difficulty, from Raid Finder up to Mythic. Bosses drop gear within specific item level ranges, and the further you progress, the higher the base drop item levels will be.

• "Boss 1" is Nek'zali the Soulcaller.
• "Boss 2-3" are the Entombed Sentinels and the Lost Explorers.
• "Boss 4-6" are Vashnik the Malignant, Sszorak and the Twin Fangs.
• "Boss 7-8" are the Coiled Altar and Ula'tek.

For Mythic difficulty only, the final two bosses in Venomous Abyss (The Coiled Altar and Ula'tek) drop loot above the intended Myth-level gear curve. They drop what would be the equivalent of a Myth 9/6 upgraded piece, and do not require further upgrading.

In addition to loot, participating in the Venomous Abyss raid grants you various achievements, mounts, titles, and more. This section contains a breakdown of the most notable rewards you can grab in this raid tier.

Those who complete the Glory of the Venomous Raider meta-achievement will receive the Crimson Venomfang mount.

Here are all the raid achievements you must earn to get the mount:

• Well, Well, Little Sky: Defeat Nek'zali, the Soulcoiler after returning Kupamanduka to the Soulcoil Well in The Venomous Abyss on Normal difficulty or higher.
• Is Venom Stasis A Joke To You?: Defeat the Entombed Sentinels after each Sentinel uses Vitriolic Stasis to restore more than half its total health in The Venomous Abyss on Normal difficulty or higher.
• Accidental Inclusion: Defeat The Lost Explorers including Hoji in The Venomous Abyss on Normal difficulty or higher.
• Kept You Waiting Huh?: Defeat Vashnik after killing the Solidified Snake Venom in The Venomous Abyss on Normal difficulty or higher.
• Jumping Through Hoops: Defeat Sszorak while jumping through each ring that appears in The Venomous Abyss on Normal difficulty or higher.
• Taking a Bite out of Slime: Defeat the Twin Fangs after feeding Ithraz the following slimes in order during Ravenous Feast in The Venomous Abyss on Normal difficulty or higher.
• Watch Out Behind You: Defeat The Coiled Altar while all players are afflicted by Unnerving Fixation in The Venomous Abyss on Normal difficulty or higher.
• No Egg Scramble: Defeat Ula'tek before the Greasy Hatchling breaks in The Venomous Abyss on Normal difficulty or higher.
  • Also rewards the Ula'took battle pet.

There is one mount tied to Ula'tek, the final encounter in the Venomous Abyss: Primeval Skyfriend.

Primeval Skyfriend drops from the Ula'tek encounter on Mythic difficulty. Each Ula'tek kill will drop 3 mounts until the release of the next WoW expansion, The Last Titan. By then, the mount will be reduced to a 1% drop.

This raid tier also features a Hall of Fame achievement, that requires players to be among the 200 guilds worldwide to defeat Ula'tek, the final boss of the Venomous Abyss, on Mythic difficulty.

• Hall of Fame: Ula'tek: Among the first two hundred guilds worldwide to defeat Ula'tek on Mythic difficulty. Title reward: Famed Slayer of the Ula'tek.

Defeating Ula'tek on Mythic Difficulty ( Mythic: Ula'tek) rewards the Venom's End title.

As per usual for every raid, the Venomous Abyss has an Ahead of the Curve and a Cutting Edge achievement.

• Ahead of the Curve: Ula'tek: Defeat Ula'tek in The Venomous Abyss on Heroic difficulty or higher, during Midnight Season 2.
• Cutting Edge: Ula'tek: Defeat Ula'tek in The Venomous Abyss on Mythic difficulty, during Midnight Season 2.
