Balance Druid

Balance Druids commune with celestial forces to weave Arcane and Nature magic together, aligning the stars to vanquish their foes. Their primary resource, Astral Power, is generated through Wrath Icon Wrath and Starfire Icon Starfire, and spent on Starsurge Icon Starsurge and Starfall Icon Starfall. They also have to maintain Moonfire Icon Moonfire and Sunfire Icon Sunfire Damage over Time (DoT) effects.

Balance is the Druid ranged DPS specialization, with an intuitive gameplay loop. It rewards good DoT uptime through its two instant casts, Sunfire Icon Sunfire and Moonfire Icon Moonfire, while also managing its resource - Astral Power. This is generated through Wrath Icon Wrath and Starfire Icon Starfire, and is used on powerful spenders: Starsurge Icon Starsurge in single-target and Starfall Icon Starfall in AoE.

It has an important medium cooldown effect, Eclipse Icon Eclipse, that alters your rotation when active, pushing you further toward either Lunar or Solar spells. To pair with that, its major cooldown - Celestial Alignment Icon Celestial Alignment - combines both effects for powerful burst. It also has some great movement tools, sharing the ability to shapeshift with other specs, while allowing you to resurrect allies in combat with Rebirth Icon Rebirth. Finally, like all Druids, they can provide the Mark of the Wild Icon Mark of the Wild to their group.

How does Balance Druid Look in Midnight?

Balance has seen some substantial changes in Midnight, impacting most of its gameplay loop. In particular, changes to its Mastery to smooth out setup time and improvements to Eclipse Icon Eclipse gameplay are welcome additions.

2.

Feral Druid

Feral Druids shapeshift into Cat Form Icon Cat Form to stalk their prey, pouncing at the right moment. With unmatched ferocity they apply savage bleeds and clamp their jaws around foes. Their primary resource, Energy, is generated passively and through Tiger's Fury Icon Tiger's Fury, and it is spent on "builders" such as Shred Icon Shred. This builds up their secondary resource, Combo Points, which are used on powerful "finishers" such as Rip Icon Rip and Ferocious Bite Icon Ferocious Bite.

Feral is one of the slower paced melee specializations, focusing on careful resource management to get the most out of their kit. It balances its Energy to build Combo Points, spending them at the right moment. They also have a variety of DoT effects such as Rake Icon Rake or Rip Icon Rip that they keep applied to targets.

It comes with some strong medium length cooldowns in Tiger's Fury Icon Tiger's Fury, amplifying its damage, and Feral Frenzy Icon Feral Frenzy, dealing a powerful flurry of attacks. Its major cooldown, Berserk Icon Berserk, floods you with resources, and is paired with Convoke the Spirits Icon Convoke the Spirits for impressive burst. Feral Druids also have a solid defensive toolkit, and can provide Mark of the Wild Icon Mark of the Wild and Rebirth Icon Rebirth to your group.

1.3.

How does Feral Druid Look in Midnight?

Feral saw significant changes to its core gameplay, most noteably when it comes to its Bleed effects. Midnight has pulled back on how important these are, but has added more cooldowns and rotational abilities to the pool.

2.

Guardian Druid

Guardian Druids shapeshift into Bear Form Icon Bear Form to become mighty protectors. With fur stronger than steel, they shrug off even the mightiest blows, using the punishment to fuel their rampage. Its primary resource, Rage, is generated by taking damage from enemies, as well as rotational abilities such as Mangle Icon Mangle. This is used to bolster their defenses with Ironfur Icon Ironfur, or deal additional damage with Maul Icon Maul.

Guardian has a smooth learning curve when picking it up, having an intuitive toolkit to deal with the needs of tanking. It uses Mangle Icon Mangle and Thrash Icon Thrash to build Rage, and uses it on either Maul Icon Maul to deal damage, or Ironfur Icon Ironfur to mitigate damage. Resources are quite plentiful, but it has a careful balancing between defense and offense.

It has a medium cooldown damage reduction, Barkskin Icon Barkskin, that it uses frequently to bolster its survivability before the hits come in. Incarnation: Guardian of Ursoc Icon Incarnation: Guardian of Ursoc is its major cooldown, providing a HP increase to take more hits, and more importantly, deal significant damage throughout. It comes with some good utility and control tools, and can provide Mark of the Wild Icon Mark of the Wild and Rebirth Icon Rebirth to your group.

1.5.

How does Guardian Druid Look in Midnight?

Guardian saw a complete overhaul to its Talent tree, improving many aspects that were previously lacking. Its rotational gameplay and defense tools are still quite similar, but the whole package comes together better now.

2.

Restoration Druid

Restoration Druids are masters of harmony, using the power of the dream to blanket their allies in restorative splendour. As healers, their primary resource is Mana, spent healing allies. The majority of Restoration's healing is provided through Healing-over-Time effects (HoTs) such as Rejuvenation Icon Rejuvenation, but the specialization also offers powerful direct heals with Regrowth Icon Regrowth and Swiftmend Icon Swiftmend.

Restoration Druid is a fast-paced healer, rewarding good awareness of the state of your effects. It aims to blanket allies with HoT spells in Rejuvenation Icon Rejuvenation, Lifebloom Icon Lifebloom and Wild Growth Icon Wild Growth. When someone is in need of direct healing though, it utilizes both Regrowth Icon Regrowth and Swiftmend Icon Swiftmend to keep them healthy.

It also has both Tranquility Icon Tranquility and Convoke the Spirits Icon Convoke the Spirits to provide huge bursts of healing as longer cooldowns, allowing it to keep the group stable during intense encounters. Uniquely compared to other healers, it has an interesting damage component too, shifting into Cat Form Icon Cat Form while the group is kept stable through lingering HoTs. Lastly, it is also a source of Mark of the Wild Icon Mark of the Wild and Rebirth Icon Rebirth, which are highly desirable for all groups.

1.7.

How does Restoration Druid Look in Midnight?

Restoration, like many healers, saw a pullback in some high management effects due to the UI changes coming in Midnight. It still retains a similar toolkit, with more streamlined throughput methods.
