Kith'ix Raid Guide
Mechanic Breakdown (Normal/Heroic)
In this section of the guide, we will break down each mechanic of the fight and provide recommendations on how to deal with them, either individually or as a raid group.
Phase 1: Add Management
Voidswarm (Add Spawn) and
Commanding Presence (Keep adds away from boss)
- Void Swarm creates portals around the room which spawn Venomous Hulks, Voidweavers, and Bomber Beetles.
- If any adds are within 25 yards of the boss they will take less damage from
Commanding Presence.
- Venomous Hulk (Tank Add)
- Off-tank picks up the Hulk, places it on top of a Voidweaver (for cleave DPS) and faces it away from the raid.
Venom Roar is a cone-knockback targeted at the tank which deals a large amount of Physical and Nature damage.- Negate the knockback with tools such as
Death's Advance or
Charge.
- Voidweavers (Caster Adds)
- Voidweavers cannot be moved.
- These should be your DPS priority.
Nightfall deals stacking raid-wide damage.
Voidweave channels on random players. If you are at high stacks of
Nightfall and have this channel,
use a defensive cooldown.
- Bomber Beetles (Fixate Adds)
- Three Beetles fixate random players for up to 30 seconds; contact with any player detonates them.
- Each detonation applies a stacking four-second raid DoT.
- Crowd-control the Beetles, then deliberately trigger them one at a time. Death Knight grips are useful to control when they explode.
- If you do not have a Death Knight you can root these and have an assigned player run into them one at a time.
- Heroic:
Incubation (Eggs)
- Each Voidweaver drops two Mind Stinger Eggs on death and the Hulk drops four.
- Kill eggs before they hatch into Mind Stingers. These are very deadly and apply DoTs and stun players.
- Commanding Presence does not reduce damage to eggs, so the boss can be cleaved with them once other adds are dead.
Phase 1: Boss Abilities
Extinguish /
Light's Embrace (Orb Collect)
Extinguish is an 8s cast and will deal a very large amount of damage to the entire raid.
Light's Embrace orbs will be placed near adds that are alive and all players should collect one
orb each. This will give you a large damage reduction for
Extinguish.- If you are unable to collect an orb be ready to use a personal cooldown or request an external defensive cooldown to survive.
- Twisted Appendages (Tentacles)
- Tentacles will spawn from the ground and produce a telegraphed set of shadow circles.
- Avoid the slam circles.
- Healers:
Overwhelming Fear (Fear Dispel)
- Several players will have a 6 second debuff placed on them. When this expires, they will be rooted in place and need to be dispelled.
- Each dispel will deal raid-wide damage based on their distance from the raid. Do not dispel them all at the same time.
- Tank:
Dark Devastation (Tank Circle and Swap)
- Run away from the raid and explode. This deals both Physical and Shadow damage, be prepared to use a cooldown for this hit.
- This applies the
Devastated debuff increasing Physical and Shadow damage taken. - Tank swap after each hit.
- Heroic: The explosion of
Dark Devastation will leave a
Voidscar puddle on the ground. This will spawn an orb
you need to soak during the Intermission Phase. Place it towards the edge of the room if possible.
Intermission (100 Energy)
Ensure all adds are dead before this intermission begins as they will enrage if they are alive!
Suffocating Darkness (Deadly Darkness)/
Refulgent Bulwark (Light Area)
- Stay within the central Bulwark (the area in light) and avoid the deadly darkness outside.
- You will continue to handle all of the other Phase 1 boss mechanics during this but in a much smaller space.
- Healers:
Abyssal Grasp (Heal Absorb)
- Random players will have a healing absorb placed on them and be slowly dragged towards the darkness.
- Healers have 8 seconds to remove this healing absorb or else they will be pulled out and killed.
- Heroic:
Eclipse Fragment (Orb Soak)
- Void Scars (placed from the tank circle) now trigger
Eclipse Fragment orbs. - These orbs will try to hit Liadrin and must be soaked by a player to prevent the
Refulgent Bulwark from going down. - Soaking these will apply a stacking 6s DoT to the player that soaked and any player within 3 yards.
- Void Scars (placed from the tank circle) now trigger
Exhausted (Liadrin 100 Energy: Intermission End):
- When Liadrin reaches 100 Energy the Intermission will end and Phase 1 repeats.
- Liadrin will gain a stack of
Exhausted reducing the effectiveness of the damage reduction and
Refulgent Bulwark (Smaller Shield/More damage taken in Intermission)
Phase 2: Eightfold Eclipse (25% to 0%)
- This phase begins as soon as Kith'ix reaches 25% Health. This is where you should use
Bloodlust. - Any adds that are alive from Phase 1 are immediately destroyed.
- You will be buffed by
Luminous Grace which increases your damage done by 50%. - You have approximately 1 minute to kill the boss before the enrage kills you.
Eightfold Eclipse (Enrage):
- This deals large raid-wide damage on each cast, with the first cast happening as soon as the phase begins.
- As the name indicates, on the eighth cast it will wipe the raid.
Null Gate (Orb Spawn)
- One random melee DPS, one ranged DPS, and one healer will be targeted and spawn a
Null Gate at their location. - Gates continuously fire
Nullshards orbs that also
Nullify stacks to players hit. - Nullify kills you at six stacks on Normal and five on Heroic.
- Recommended Strategy 1: Drag the boss to the edge and place the Null Gates counter clockwise. After each spawn move the boss clockwise.
- Recommended Strategy 2: Leave the boss in the middle and have melee, ranged and healers all have assigned drop locations.
- One random melee DPS, one ranged DPS, and one healer will be targeted and spawn a
- Tank:
Negation (Clear Null Gates)
Negation increases your movement speed by 100%, increases your physical damage taken, and makes you immune to
Nullshards.- Taunt swap as soon as this is applied.
- You will have 8 seconds to run into a Null Gate and remove this effect. If
Negation times out you will die. - Running into a gate will trigger
Explosive Restabilization which deals a very large amount of Shadow and Physical damage but also
destroys Null Gates within 10 yards.
Quick Guide
Here we will list the most important aspects of the encounter. Keep in mind that we will not be listing every mechanic here, instead focusing on the ones that we deem the most important and impactful.
Phase 1 (Adds)

- Healers: Stagger Horrify dispels
- Dodge Appendage slams.
- Tanks: move Dark Devastation away and swap.
Intermission (100 Energy)
- Kill adds before 100 energy; stay inside Refulgent Bulwark.
- Healers: remove Abyssal Grasp absorbs within eight seconds.
- Heroic: soak Eclipse Fragments before they shrink the barrier.
Phase 2 (25%)
- Use Bloodlust and kill the boss before the eighth Eightfold Eclipse orb.
- Drop Null Gates by role; dodge Nullshards and avoid Nullify stacks.
- Tanks: swap on Negation, use a defensive, and enter a Null Gate before eight seconds.
Notable Changes on Mythic Difficulty

- Bomber Beetles
- These now spawn Mind Stinger Eggs
- Nullify (Enrage Orb Soaks)
- This now kills you on 3 stacks (was 5 on Heroic).
