Activities in the Vaults of Atal'Utek
The Vaults of Atal'Utek have three "tiers" of activities that feed into each other. Completing
these activities in rewards you with
Corrosive Coins, reputation with the
Zul'Jarra's Forces Renown, and many other rewards.
Vaults of Atal'Utek Activities
Temple Patrols are the lowest tier of activities in the Vaults of Atal'Utek. They are scattered across the Vaults, and you're likely stumbling across them by simply venturing around the temple. Patrols are marked on your map via a cogwheel vignette, and a new set of patrols spawn every 10 minutes.
Temple Patrols can be completed solo with ease.
Temple Strikes are the second tier of activities in the Vaults of Atal'Utek. These spawn upon completing a certain number of Temple Patrols, and trigger a small zone event.
Although Temple Strikes can be completed solo, 3-5 players is the recommended amount for one.
Temple Incursions are the highest tier of activities in the Vaults of Atal'Utek. Triggered after completing two Temple Strikes, these are massive zone-wide events. Every Temple Incursion ends with a final boss fight.
It is recommended to bring 15-20 players for a Temple Incursion.
The Altar of Corrosion
As you engage with these activities, you'll collect
Corrosive Coin. Their purpose
is to feed the Altar of Corrosion, a new talent system
that increases your power within the Vaults of Atal'Utek.
You can start working towards unlocking the Altar of Corrosion with the quest Vaults of Atal'Utek: Certain Doom,
which serves as an introduction to the Vaults themselves. Once the Altar of Corrosion is unlocked,
you can talk with Er'inye near the Altar to start corroding your spirit. This
uses
Corrosive Coins to earn talent points for the Altar of Corrosion, with each point
costing more coins than the previous one.
Every time you corrode your spirit with Erin'ye, you will gain one Corrosive Soul, which grants a talent tree point into the Altar of Corrosion. Certain talents require completion of quests before you can allocate them, which are listed in the table below.
