Ritual Sites World Event Guide
The following guide covers Ritual Sites, the new instanced content centering around Void Assaults in Patch 12.0.5. Learn about rewards and how to enable challenges.
Ritual Site Basics
Ritual Sites are a new form of instanced content players can do, starting in Patch 12.0.5. They are instanced 1-5 man content where we deal with invaders striking Quel'Thalas. They are scenarios that have some similarities to Delves - they have scaling difficulty, and can be run with a group of 1-5 people. There are two available Ritual Sites you can run, which rotate weekly:
- Daggerspine Point in Eversong Woods.
- Broken Throne in Zul'Aman.
Although they are mechanically similar to Delves, there are a few key differences - You do not have access to a Delve companion, and you are able to customize your experience by selecting several challenges. There are 5 tiers of Ritual Sites you can run:
- Tier 1: Recommended ilvl 215.
- Tier 2: Recommended ilvl 231.
- Tier 3: Recommended ilvl 244.
- Tier 4: Recommended ilvl 257.
- Tier 5: Recommended ilvl 264.
Completing Ritual Sites grants
Field Accolade currency, reputation with the Ritual Sites
Renown, and other rewards such as Crests and
Voidlight Marl. In addition to this, looting
mobs in Ritual Sites also grants
Dark Particle, which can be exchanged for more Field
Accolades at Ritual Site vendors.
Loot and Scoring
The loot you get in Ritual Sites is directly determined via a scoring system that has a couple of factors built in - Spoils and Deaths.
- Spoils are obtained when completing a main objective for the Ritual Site. As an example, on a Ritual Site that has you killing six named mobs, each mob grants you a quantity of Spoils. Spoil rewards scale up with Ritual Site difficulty, and are further scaled up via Challenges.
- Deaths provide a penalty to your Spoils. The first two deaths do not affect your Spoil rewards, but each death after the first two reduces your Spoil rewards by 5%, up to a maximum of 50%.
Challenges
Challenges are a new mechanic exclusive to Ritual Sites, in which you are able to customize the difficulty by adding affixes to your runs. Each Challenge adds an affix to the Ritual Site, increasing the difficulty of the scenario, but also increasing the amount of Spoils you can loot at the end of the run.
You can start doing challenges in Tier 3 of Ritual Sites, with each subsequent tier allowing for more challenges:
- Tier 3: 1 Challenge
- Tier 4: 2 Challenges
- Tier 5: 4 Challenges
