Overview
The Felhounds of Sargeras is a single phase encounter with two active bosses, F'harg and Shatug. Both Felhounds are active simultaneously, and they share a health pool. Their mechanics are very predictable, as they are cast based on their Energy level.
Passives
Energy
The Felhounds build Energy over time. Their Energy gain is independent of one another despite their shared health.
Destroyer's Boon
Destroyer's Boon is triggered whenever the Felhounds are within 40 yards of each other, granting each of them Sargeras' Blessing, increasing all of their damage done by 100%.
Focusing Power
Focusing Power temporarily suspends a Felhound's power generation.
This ability exists as a method of staggering the Energy gain of the Felhounds, as both of them have abilities that trigger at 33, 66, and 100 Energy. This ability is cast multiple times throughout the encounter, which will create unique ability overlaps later in the fight.
Soul Link
Soul Link shares 100% of the damage taken between the Felhounds.
F'harg
F'harg uses exclusively Fire style abilities.
Burning Maw and Smouldering
Burning Maw is an aura and an ability; this buff will appear on F'harg right before he begins to cast the ability on the active tank. The active portion of Burning Maw deals moderate Shadow damage to the tank. Burning Maw will stack Smouldering on the boss, which deals Fire damage in a 25 yard frontal cone.
This ability is cast periodically.
Desolate Gaze
Desolate Gaze causes F'harg to fix his gaze on random raid members. The raid will notice several fiery lines connecting the targeted players and F'harg; for 8 seconds, those players will be able to adjust the axes of these paths by moving. F'harg will then cast Desolate Path, and several copies of him will charge forth across those paths, hitting anyone along the axis of the line and knocking them back as well as dealing heavy Fire damage.
This ability is cast when F'harg is at 33 Energy.
Molten Touch (Heroic+ Only)
Molten Touch is cast periodically, teleporting a few random targets in front of F'harg and stunning them for 1.8 seconds. During this time, F'harg rapidly swipes at the targets, dealing heavy damage and applying stacks of Singed as well as triggering Molten Flares with each swipe. Singed inflicts ticking Fire damage over 9 seconds, while Molten Flares fly out towards random raid members, marking their impact location with a small circle (5-yard radius). Anyone inside the zone when the Flare lands suffers moderate Fire damage.
This ability is cast when F'harg is at 66 Energy.
Enflame Corruption
Enflame Corruption causes enemies to be periodically afflicted with the Enflamed debuff, which deals moderate Fire damage to the afflicted player as well as anyone within an 8 yard radius of them. Enflame Corruption persists for 9 seconds, and in addition to the Enflamed debuffs, the raid will also suffer damage every 1.5 seconds from Erupting Flames for the duration of Enflame Corruption.
This ability is cast when F'harg is at 100 Energy.
Shatug
Shatug uses exclusively Shadow style abilities.
Corrupting Maw and Decay
Corrupting Maw is an aura and an ability; this buff will appear on Shatug right before he begins to cast the ability on the active tank. The active portion of Corrupting Maw deals moderate Shadow damage to the tank. Corrupting Maw will stack Decay on the boss, which deals Shadow damage in a 25 yard frontal cone.
This ability is cast periodically.
Consuming Sphere
Consuming Sphere slowly travels in a line along the path of a random player. It deals ticking Shadow damage on contact, applying the debuff Consumed to anyone hit, which increases the efficacy of further ticks by 75% per stack. The Sphere also sucks players towards it, with the intensity of the pull fading with distance from the orb.
This ability is cast when Shatug is at 33 Energy.
Weight of Darkness (Heroic+ only)
Weight of Darkness is cast periodically, targeting several players with a debuff that debilitates their movement progressively more intensely over 5 seconds before detonating. All targets within 8 yards, including the afflicted player, will be feared for 20 seconds, with the duration divided evenly amongst the affected targets. If at least 3 players are within 8 yards, the fear is completely neutralized.
This ability is cast when Shatug is at 66 Energy.
Siphon Corruption
Siphon Corruption causes enemies to be periodically afflicted with the Siphoned debuff, which deals heavy Shadow damage after 4 seconds, split evenly with all players within 8 yards. Siphon Corruption persists for 9 seconds, and in addition to the Siphoned debuffs, the raid will also suffer damage every 1.5 seconds from Erupting Shadows for the duration of Siphon Corruption.
This ability is cast when Shatug is at 100 Energy.
