Crown of the Cosmos is the final boss encounter in The Voidspire, a 6-boss raid that is part of the three raids available in Season 1 of Midnight.
On this page you will find a both a short and a full written guide for this encounter, with everything you need to know to take the boss on in Normal, Heroic, or Mythic difficulty.
Crown of the Cosmos Raid Guide
Mechanic Breakdown (Normal/Heroic)
Phase 1 (Demibosses):
Core Mechanics:
Grasp of Emptiness (Arrow Circles):
- A circle will appear under the targeted player and there will be three clear lines from the player and the circle.
- This acts as pulling the string on a bow, the further away you run from the circle the narrower the path of the arrows.
- Your goal with this mechanic is to aim it away from the raid.
Void Expulsion (Void Zones):
- These pools will spawn at a players location.
- After a few seconds they will detonate dealing raid wide damage and leave a permanent pool on the ground which will only clear with the intermission.
- Standing in these pools will deal ticking damage to players inside of them.
- These pools will grow over time. Avoid placing them near the middle of the platform.
- Void Droplets (Small adds):
- Two Droplets will spawn from each demiboss area periodically throughout the phase.
- When they are killed they will explode with an indicator of a purple circle on the ground.
- Anyone inside of this area will get the
Corrupting Essence debuff increasing damage taken by 30% per stack for 20 seconds. This effect
also works on the demibosses and is how you comfortably meet the DPS check for this phase. - Healers and Multidotters should pay close attention to how they are positioned as they will likely get threat of these after they spawn. Position yourself in a way that allows the adds to path under the demiboss so the tank can grab threat.
- Death Knights should support their tank with
Death Grips and Melee DPS should help with Taunting adds in.
Null Corona (Heal Absorbs):
- Two players will have this heal absorb debuff put on them. It is quite large so requires direct healer attention.
- If the player is in danger of dying it can be dispelled, but will jump to another player instead.
Silverstrike Arrow (Arrows from Alleria that remove Void Effects):
- Two players will be targeted by Alleria in the centre of the room.
- After a few seconds the arrow will fire and hit everything from Alleria, through you, to the edge of the room.
- Anything hit will have Void based buffs/debuffs removed from them.
- For the demibosses it will remove
Umbral Tether (allowing them to die) and any stacks of
Corrupting Essence (damage taken increase) that they have. - Once
Umbral Tether has been removed from the demiboss you do not need to hit them again, and would in fact be a DPS loss to hit them again as they would lose their damage taken stacks.
Below are a series of images on how you will play out this phase.
At the start of Phase 1 the raid will be attacking Demiar and the other tank will be tanking Morium
The first set of arrows should hit Demiar and Vroelus
Demiar is now defeated and the raid is attacking Vroelus. For the second set of arrows one should hit Morium and the other should hit nothing.
Vroelus has been defeated and the raid finishes up Morium. All arrows from this point should hit nothing.
Demibosses:
All demibosses gain a stacking buff to their damage dealt if there is nobody in melee range of them. The more notable ones to prevent are Demiar (due to raid wide damage) and Morium (tank damage will get too high if ignored).
- Demiar (Raid Wide Silence):
- This demiboss is the most annoying for the raid and should be the one you kill first.
- It will periodically cast
Interrupting Tremor which will cast for 5 seconds and then silence anyone who is still casting. It will also deal raid wide damage.
- Vroelus (AoE Damage Dealt Reduction):
- Vroelus casts
Ravenous Abyss as their special ability. This creates a zone around itself which will reduce the damage dealt by anyone hit by the effect by 70% for 8 seconds. - Classes with magic debuff prevention (Example:
Anti-Magic Shell) can stay inside but it is not advisable. Just run out.
- Vroelus casts
- Morium (Tank Knockback):
- Morium is the tank mob of the trio. It will deal a notable amount of Physical damage and cast
Dark Hand.
Dark Hand will knock the target back a substantial distance.- Tanks: Be ready to negate the knockback effect with Charge effects or movement negation such as
Death's Advance.
- Morium is the tank mob of the trio. It will deal a notable amount of Physical damage and cast
The phase ends when all 3 demibosses are defeated. They will enrage at 2 minutes 10 seconds.
Heroic Changes:
Void Expulsion
- After the
Void Expulsion detonates several players will recieve a debuff indicating that they will also drop a
Void Expulsion pool. - These follow up pools give you a few seconds of warning so you can place them in nice places.
- After the
Grasp of Emptiness
- Will be applied to two players.
Intermission 1:
- During this intermission players will slowly be sucked towards the centre of the room.
- If you reach the middle you will die.
- As the phase goes on you will be debuffed with
Stellar Emission which will slow you making it harder to outrun the suck into the middle. - Getting hit by a
Silverstrike Barrage will remove these stacks. - The recommendation would be to get hit by the 2nd and 4th Arrow.
Heroic Changes:
Silverstrike Barrage
Silverstrike Barrage applies a damage taken debuff to you preventing you from being hit twice in a row.
Phase 2 (Alleria and her clone):
- The following mechanics remain from Phase 1:
Null Corona. Heal absorb.
Void Expulsion. Area denial circles baited on player locations.
- The platforms are now partially fragmented and your aim is to use as little space as possible from the area denial caused by
Void Expulsion. - During this phase the raid should be stacked together on the outer edge of the platform.
- The raid will move around the room to the right (facing the middle).
Void Expulsion pools should be baited and dropped behind the raid group (to the left facing the middle).- If you run out of space in the area you are in you can cross over to another section of the room, but this will deal damage to you as you cross with
Volatile Fissure.
- Fight Flow:
- All DPS will start hitting Alleria on the edge of the room.
- 3 Adds will spawn which need to be moved into the raid with
Death Grips or knockbacks. They also need to be interrupted or stunned.
Silverstrike Ricochet will be applied to 3 players. These work differently from the Arrows in Phase 1 where the arrow will path from Player A to B to C. The adds need to be in the path
of this ricochet.- Tip: The adds will glow white if they are going to be hit.
- Once the
Silverstrike Ricochet cast has finished the tanks will swap the positions of Alleria and the Rift Simulacrum. - Hit the Rift Simulacrum to break
Cosmic Barrier. - Repeat.
At the start of Phase 2 the raid will be on the edge with Alleria
Adds will spawn and need to be gripped/knocked in. They need to be killed and destroyed with
Silverstrike Ricochet.
Once the adds are removed the tanks will taunt swap and the raid will hit the Rift Simulacrum to break the
Cosmic Barrier. The tanks will swap the bosses back and the cycle repeats.
On the below image you can see a visual example of what the adds look like if a
Silverstrike Ricochet is going to hit an add.
On the left is what they usually look like, the right is when they will be hit.
Voidstalker Sting:
- This stacking debuff is randomly applied to players.
- As this is a void based debuff it can be removed by Arrows. Stand in the path of the
Silverstrike Ricochet to remove it.
Voidstalker Sting can stack making it quite lethal if not removed.
- Notes for Tanks:
- One tank will start the phase with the Rift Simulacrum in the middle of the room.
- The other tank will be with the raid on the outer edge of the room.
- As you tank the Rift Simulacrum it will apply
Rift Slash to you. This reduces your stats by 10% for 20 seconds and can stack. - Your tank swaps in the phase will be. Once the adds have been destroyed by
Silverstrike Ricochet and when the
Cosmic Barrier has been removed. - Both Alleria and the Rift Simulacrum will leap to you if you are outside of their melee range. Taunt at max range and they will not buff each other.
Heroic Changes:
Void Expulsion
Void Expulsion changes remain from Phase 1.
Intermission 2:
- This intermission is very similar to the first intermission but with a different movement and arrow pattern.
- There are 3 arrows in total which you can be hit by.
- The recommendation would be to get hit by the 1st and 2nd or 3rd Arrow.
- Do not end the intermission on a line seperating the platforms, you will fall to your death.
Heroic Changes:
- Intermission:
- As with the first intermission
Silverstrike Barrage applies a damage taken debuff to you preventing you from being hit twice in a row. - There is now a solid wall of orbs chasing you. You will need to move over one platform section at least.
- Make sure the raid all ends on the same section together.
- As with the first intermission
Phase 3 (Alleria alone):
- The following mechanics return from previous phases.
Null Corona. Heal absorb.
Void Expulsion. Area denial circles baited on player locations.
Voidstalker Sting. However there is no way to remove the stacks, they should drop off naturally.
Grasp of Emptiness. Arrow circles.
There are two new mechanics for this phase.
- Fight Flow:
- Stack up on the back corner of the platform as a raid.
Aspect of the End tethers will be applied to the active tank, 1 Melee, 1 Ranged player.- You should break these tethers in the following order: Melee > Tank > Wait for
Grasp of Emptiness > Ranged. - Move right (facing the middle of the room) as a raid on each set of tether breaks and
Grasp of Emptiness arrow circles. - After the second tether breaks Alleria will destroy the platform you are on. Pick up a feather and Jump (actually press space bar) across to the next platform.
- If your class has the capability to jump across the gap naturally you do not need to pick up a feather and can avoid the small damage it deals to you.
Raid is stacked in the back corner of the platform ready for
Aspect of the End. These are snapped in the order of Melee > Tank > Ranged.
Move ahead when
Grasp of Emptiness circles appear. Aim these away from the raid.
Another set of mechanics further down the platform.
Use the Feathers (or personal mobility) to jump to the next platform.
Heroic Changes:
Grasp of Emptiness
- Two
Grasp of Emptinesss appear at a time.
- Two
Quick TLDR Guide

- Kill Order Demiar > Vroelus > Morium.
- Place
Void Expulsion pools at the edge of the room. - Aim
Grasp of Emptiness away from the raid.
Intermission 1 :
- Get hit by
Silverstrike Barrage to clear your slow stacks. Do not get hit by 2 in a row. - Do not get sucked into the middle of the room.
Phase 2:
- Grip/Knock adds on top of Alleria.
- Destoy them with
Silverstrike Ricochet. - Drop
Void Expulsion pools behind the raid. - Target the Rift Simulacrum when it has
Cosmic Barrier active. - Tanks: Swap after adds have been destroyed and absorb shield has been broken. Taunt the boss to your position, do not swap places.
Intermission 2 :
- Get hit by
Silverstrike Barrage to clear your slow stacks. Do not get hit by 2 in a row. - Do not get sucked into the middle of the room.
- Do not end this intermission on a crack that seperates the room sections. You will die.
Phase 3:
- Stack up with the raid.
- Snap
Aspect of the End in the order of Melee > Tank > Ranged. - Move ahead with tether snaps and
Grasp of Emptiness. - Jump over to the next platform using a Feather.
