Imperator Averzian Raid Guide in The Voidspire for Midnight Season 1

Imperator Averzian is the first boss encounter in The Voidspire, a 6-boss raid that is part of the three raids available in Season 1 of Midnight.

On this page you will find a both a short and a full written guide for this encounter, with everything you need to know to take the boss on in Normal, Heroic, or Mythic difficulty.

Mechanic Breakdown (Normal/Heroic)

1.1.

Tic Tac Toe Phase:

  • 3 Abyssal Voidshapers will spawn which are immune to damage. They are all casting a spell which will claim one of the 9 areas of the room. If 3 of these areas claimed are in a row you will wipe.
  • The group soak Umbral Collapse Icon Umbral Collapse will kill a Voidshaper that is hit.
  • Two Umbral Collapse Icon Umbral Collapse soaks will occur back to back and the last remaining add will spawn a Portal triggering the Intermission Phase.
  • The remaining space where the portal was created will be claimed by the boss. Your goal is for the boss to never claim three spaces in a row.

  • Tank Mechanics:
    1. Swap at around 8 stacks of Blackening Wounds Icon Blackening Wounds.
    2. You are in control of how the raid moves and which adds are dealt with. A priority system of starting in the centre (and clearing that add if it spawns) and then pinging the adds you want to destroy will be the most consistent.
    3. If the boss is ever in the area of a claimed space they will gain Imperator's Glory Icon Imperator's Glory and take reduced damage.

Intermission:

  • Adds will run towards the tank with the most Blackening Wounds Icon Blackening Wounds stacks. Swap at the start of this intermission.
  • Adds:
    1. Voidbound Annihilator / Shadowguard Stalwart: These are the priority adds to kill in this phase. Interrupt their Pitch Bulwark Icon Pitch Bulwark casts to prevent them from shielding each other.
    2. Voidmaw (Small Adds): Cleave these down.
  • Void Fall Icon Void Fall will spawn pools on the ground. Dodge these.
  • Oblivion's Wrath Icon Oblivion's Wrath will spawn lances from the boss in a semicircle.

  • Each time you repeat an intermission mechanics will appear from every portal meaning the further into the fight you are the more there is to deal with.
  • Intermission 2/4/6 Only: Shadow Phalanx Icon Shadow Phalanx will spawn a moving wall of immune adds across the room. Simply find a gap in the wall and avoid being hit.

Heroic Changes:

  • Intermission:
    1. Tanks: All adds must be tanked at least 10 yards away from the boss.
    2. When Voidmaws reach 35% they will run to the nearest claimed space and heal up. Kill them before they reach it.

Phase 1:

  • Soak Umbral Collapse Icon Umbral Collapse on Voidshapers.
  • Tanks: Move the boss quickly to the areas you want to claim (and kill the Voidshaper).
  • Tanks: Swap at around 8 stacks of Blackening Wounds Icon Blackening Wounds.
  • Tanks: Keep the boss away from a claimed space as it will take reduced damage.

Intermission:

  • Tanks: Adds will go to the tank with the most Blackening Wounds Icon Blackening Wounds stacks.
  • Avoid the beams from the portals and swirlies on the ground.
  • Kill all adds.
  • Interrupt Pitch Bulwark Icon Pitch Bulwark.
  • After Intermission 2/4/6 you will need to watch out for walls of NPCs that march from the exit to the entrance.

Mythic Changes and Tips

  • Tic Tac Toe Changes:
    1. All of the Voidshapers will be protected by Cosmic Shell Icon Cosmic Shell. 2 Dispells of Void Marked Icon Void Marked are required to remove this.
    2. 6 players will recieve Void Marked Icon Void Marked.
    3. The general strategy to handle this would be to have the raid stacked on the add you intend to break (most likely middle), and have 2 healers dispel 1 person each to remove the shield instantly.
    4. The remaining 4 players go to the 2nd add you have called to be broken and get dispelled there.
    5. As you get deeper into the fight you will notice that portals will only spawn in spaces where it can end the fight and the boss can get three in a row. At this point in the fight you can safely pre call where people will go.
  • Intermission Changes:
    1. The Voidshaper will cast Gathering Darkness Icon Gathering Darkness at 100 Energy and transform into Endwalkers.
    2. As soon as they appear every DPS should hard swap to them as it does not take very long for them to reach max energy.
    3. Oblivion's Wrath Icon Oblivion's Wrath spikes will return to the boss. Keep an eye out for where they came from and do not be in the path.
