Captain Tokka Reputation Guide - Fishing with the Coiled Huntress

The Captain Tokka reputation is hidden behind a side quest from The Coiled Isle. To obtain access to this reputation, you must complete the questline from Captain Tokka, who can be found in Tokka's Landing, the main questing hub for Midnight Patch 12.1.

Starting with the quest Venom Fishing: Proof is in the Ooze, you will earn your first bits of reputation with Captain Tokka, and learn several special fishing skills for the Coiled Isle in the process.

This reputation track has a few things that differ from other reputations in the game. First of all, the reputation does not follow the standard Neutral to Exalted path, nor does it follow ranks like a Renown reputation. Instead, it follows a customized reputation path composed of 5 ranks:

• Stranger
• Doomed Sailor
• Cursed Angler
• Venom Trawler
• Bloodsworn Crew

In addition to this, the reputation does not end once you become a Bloodsworn Crew. One of the max rank rewards is a cursed fishing rod that allows you to obtain a new currency for more rewards!

You can earn reputation all the way to Bloodsworn Crew by doing the following tasks:

• Complete Captain Tokka's questline in Tokka's Landing, all the way through the quest Venom Fishing: Maximum Potency.
• Complete daily quests from Captain Tokka's crew in Tokka's Folly, the island just West of Tokka's Landing.
• Fish in the Coiled Isle for special fish and quest items from the achievement Treasures of the Damned.
• Complete the World Quest Open Sea Fishing in the Coiled Isle, whenever you see it available.

You may notice that getting to Bloodsworn Crew with Captain Tokka is a relatively quick task, but the reputation does not end once you reach max rank. One of the items you are able to purchase from Second Mate Sluggs, Captain Tokka's quartermaster, is a mysterious fishing rod called The Coiled Huntress.

The Coiled Huntress is attractive at first glance because it offers the same stats as the Sin'dorei Reeler's Rod epic fishing pole, and a special underwater breathing effect. But it offers even more than that.

If you look at the tooltip for the Coiled Huntress, you may notice a Venom counter. Each successful Fishing cast anywhere in the Coiled Isle (as in, no junk items fished) grants a stack of Venom to your rod.

You can remove these stacks by cleansing them. Cleansing your Coiled Huntress requires speaking with Seasage Polo at Tokka's Folly. Doing so gives you a Coiled Filament at a 1:1 ratio (as in, 1 Venom stack on your Coiled Huntress rod will give you 1 Coiled Filament). Coiled Filaments can be exchanged for additional fishing-themed rewards with Second Mate Sluggs, Captain Tokka's quartermaster.

The quartermaster for the Captain Tokka reputation is Second Mate Sluggs, and he is located in Tokka's Folly, the small island just west of Tokka's Landing in the Coiled Isle.

Sluggs sells both reputation rewards all the way to Bloodsworn Crew, as well as extra rewards from Coiled Filaments.

The Captain Tokka reputation also has a meta achievement behind it, Tokka's Terrible Trials. This meta achievement requires interacting with the reputation and doing a lot of fishing in the Coiled Isle.

Completing this meta achievement awards you with the Bloodsworn Mariner title.

Ula'tek Snakeheads are found in any pools inside the Vaults of Atal'Utek, or fished from open waters in the Coiled Isle with a Ula'tek Snakehead Lure. Coiled Stargorgers are fished rarely from the Vaults of Atal'Utek, more easily obtained when transforming pools via Coiled Stargorger Lure.
Toxic Trophies	Obtain "Trophy" ranking with most Fish from the Coiled Isle. Trophy ranking requires fishing a bunch of them. Current estimates are around ~100 fish of each type.
