Entombed Sentinels Raid Guide
Mechanic Breakdown (Normal/Heroic)
In this section of the guide, we will break down each individual mechanic of the fight and provide recommendations on how to deal with them, either individually or as a raid group.
Main Phase
- The Entombed Sentinels are a two-target encounter, but the bosses do not share health and should be fought by two separate raid groups.
- Keep the bosses at least 40 yards apart. If they are too close they will gain
Ula'tek's Dominance reducing their damage taken by 99%. - Split the raid in half on each boss.
- An even balance of DPS is required to prevent them healing with
Vitriolic Stasis.
Mark of Acid and
Mark of Blood
- Players near each Sentinel gradually gain stacking damage from that boss's mark, making the end of each main-phase sequence increasingly dangerous.
- Remain with your assigned group and avoid crossing between the bosses unnecessarily, as this can expose you to mechanics from both sides.
- Healers: Plan healing cooldowns for the end of each boss sequence, where the damage will be the highest.
- Tanks: Swap which Sentinel you are tanking after every intermission so that each group's mark stacks can expire.
Breath of Ula'tek
Toxic Droplets (Small adds)
- The Breath of Ula'tek sprays out small venom droplets that must be destroyed before they erupt.
- Players can destroy a droplet by stepping on it..
- Position loosely around the boss so that the droplets appear in manageable locations.
- Heroic: Destroyed droplets release
Living Venom after a short delay, causing venom to travel back towards the Breath of Ula'tek
and damage any player in its path. - Heroic: After nearby droplets have been cleared, move behind or to the sides of the boss so that the returning venom travels through a controlled area rather than through the raid.
Venom Coagulation (Big add)
- DPS: Kill this as a priority.
- This add will deal raid-wide damage while it is alive.
- Tanks
Empowering Slam (Stacking damage amp for tank)
- Large physical damage hit which deals more damage each time it is cast on the same tank.
- As you will not swap the bosses until the intermission defensive cooldowns are needed as it gets closer to 100 Energy.
Blood of Ula'tek
Unstable Miasma (Group Soak)
- A targeted player is marked for a delayed explosion that splits damage with every player who soaks.
- The explosion applies stacks of
Clinging Murk to every player who soaks. - Heroic: When
Clinging Murk expires, a
Blood Venom pool will be created.
Blighted Blood (Dispels)
- The Blood of Ula'tek applies a dispellable Shadow damage-over-time effect to players.
- Healers: Dispel instantly to get a second dispel in before it expires.
- Heroic: A naturally expiring debuff leaves behind a
Blood Venom pool, if you have not been dispelled position yourself next to other pools
to conserve space in the room.
Bloodvenom Injection (Stacking damage amp for tank)
- Large physical damage hit and stacking shadow DoT which deals more damage each time it is cast on the same tank.
- As you will not swap the bosses until the intermission defensive cooldowns are needed as it gets closer to 100 Energy.
Intermission
Vitriolic Stasis (Boss Health Balancing)
- Both bosses will charge to the middle of the room and balance their health to match the higher health boss.
- Focus on solving
Helical Toxins. - Once the intermission ends, each raid group returns to its original side while the tanks swap which Sentinel they are tanking.
Helical Toxins (Can you count to 4)
- Every player receives an icon representing either 1, 2, or 3 toxin applications.
- This is represented by the number of linked orbs above your head.
- Running into another player will merge your counts together and they must total 4
- If you have 1, find 3. If you have 3, find 1. If you have 2, find 2.
- Heroic: Colliding with a player when the combined total would exceed 4 kills the affected players rather than knocking them away.
Quick Guide
Here we will list the most important aspects of the encounter. Keep in mind that we will not be listing every mechanic here, instead focusing on the ones that we deem the most important and impactful.
Main Phase
- Split the raid between the two Sentinels and keep the bosses at least 40 yards apart.
- Balance boss health because the lower-health Sentinel heals during each intermission.
- Tanks: Swap Sentinels after every intermission to reset the raid groups' mark stacks.
- Heroic: Drop all blood puddles near the room edges or existing puddles.
Breath of Ula'tek
- Step on
Toxic Droplets before they explode. - Heroic: Move out of the returning
Living Venom paths after droplets are destroyed. - Immediately kill the
Venom Coagulation. - Tanks: Use mitigation for the increasingly powerful
Empowering Slam hits.
Blood of Ula'tek
- Soak
Unstable Miasma with your group. - Move
Clinging Murk towards a corner or existing puddles before it expires. - Healers: Dispel
Blighted Blood. - Tanks: Remember that when
Bloodvenom Injection expires after the Intermission it will spawn a pool.
Intermission
- Stop attacking and solve
Helical Toxins. - Pair 2 with 2, or pair 1 with 3, to reach exactly 4.
- Heroic: Any collision that raises a player above 4 is lethal.
- Return to your original side after the intermission while the tanks swap bosses.
- Tanks: Taunt the boss you did not have and return to the same side when the intermission ends.
Notable Changes on Mythic Difficulty
Below you will find information on the most important changes on Mythic difficulty. Naturally many abilities will deal more damage or affect more players, while enemies have more HP, so we will be focusing on mechanical changes.
Shifting Protovenom
- Vashnik the Malignant contaminates random players with prototype venom that inflicts periodic Plague damage.
- Coming into contact with another player affected by
Shifting Protovenom neutralises both effects harmlessly. - Colliding with an unaffected player instead triggers
Protovenom Eruption, damaging and knocking back players within 10 yards. - Affected players should identify one another before moving and pair away from unrelated players where possible.
- Unaffected players should give marked players clear movement lanes and avoid crossing through their pairing locations.
- The safest practical handling is likely to use a designated meeting area or assigned pairing system, but the exact positioning should be adjusted around the encounter's simultaneous mechanics.
