Mechanic Breakdown (Normal/Heroic)

In this section of the guide, we will break down each individual mechanic of the fight and provide recommendations on how to deal with them, either individually or as a raid group.

1.1.1.

Main Phase

  • The Lost Explorers is a three-target council fight.
  • The bosses do not share health.
  • Keep two bosses together whenever possible so the raid can cleave them while controlling their individual health values.
  • Use Grab Fish Icon Grab Fish from Trader Gebbo's crates to choose which boss uses their ultimate ability.
  • The recommended ultimate order is Trader Gebbo, First Mate Nama, then Scrollsage Iku.
  • Use Bloodlust or Heroism on the pull.
  • United Defense Icon United Defense (Avoid stacking all bosses together)
    1. If all 3 bosses are within 30y of each other they will take 99% less damage.
    2. Rotate Nama between the other two bosses and always cleave to Nama to simplify things.
  • Throw Junk Icon Throw Junk (Find the fish in the crates)
    1. Trader Gebbo throws crates around the room which players must break open by walking over them.
    2. Breaking crates applies stacking Splinters Icon Splinters bleed.
    3. One of these crates contains Grab Fish Icon Grab Fish.
    4. Carry the fish into melee range of the chosen boss and use the Extra Action Button at 90-95 Mor'zahi energy.
    5. Feeding a boss triggers that boss's ultimate and permanently applies Disgusting Fish Icon Disgusting Fish, preventing the same boss from being selected again.
    6. Failing to feed a boss before Mor'zahi completes his Empower cast causes Empowered Ascension, wiping the raid.
    7. Healers: Be prepared for increased damage on players who collect multiple Splinters Icon Splinters stacks.
  • Shell Spin Icon Shell Spin (Turtle Shells - Baited on Melee DPS)
    1. First Mate Nama fires three turtle shells in a frontal cone aimed towards a random melee player.
    2. Anyone struck by a shell is stunned for 4 seconds.
    3. Melee players should remain close to Nama and bait the frontal towards the edge of the platform.
    4. Once it has been baited move out of the path.
    5. This happens frequently but not during Mighty Thud Icon Mighty Thud.
  • Icebound Flames Icon Icebound Flames (Interrupt Iku)
    1. Assign a 2/3 person interrupt rotation on Scrollsage Iku to prevent this cast from going off.
    2. The active tank can assist with interrupts when positioning permits.
  • Blink Nova Icon Blink Nova (Run away circles)
    1. Scrollsage Iku teleports to a marked ranged player and deals raid-wide damage.
    2. The damage is reduced based on distance.
  • Tank Mechanics
    1. Swap after each stack of Shredding Shards Icon Shredding Shards from Scrollsage Iku.
    2. First Mate Nama Steady Strikes Icon Steady Strikes while attacking the same target. Be ready with defensive cooldowns at high stacks.
    3. Move Nama between Gebbo and Iku as required to maintain two-target cleave while keeping all three bosses from overlapping.
1.1.2.

Boss Ultimates

  • Explosive Surprise Icon Explosive Surprise (Trader Gebbo)
    1. Bouncy Mushrooms will appear in the room and some players will be marked with a bomb.
    2. Targeted players should place each bomb near the edge of the room and away from the available mushrooms.
    3. After a bomb detonates, a Blast Wave Icon Blast Wave travels across the platform.
    4. Wait for the wave to get close to the mushroom and run into it to jump over the wave.
    5. Mushrooms are consumed once activated. Do not selfishly go in early.
    6. Multiple players can use the same mushroom for a short period after it is triggered.
  • Mighty Thud Icon Mighty Thud (First Mate Nama)
    1. Three players will be marked and Nama will leap to them based on the distance they are from the boss.
    2. Each impact deals Physical damage split between players within 6 yards and knocks them back.
    3. Place one marked player in melee and two at separate ranged positions so the three soak circles do not overlap.
    4. The raid should be split into two teams (Groups 1/3/5 = Team 1, Groups 2/4/6 = Team 2).
    5. Inside each of these teams the players should have a preferred soak (Melee, Ranged 1, Ranged 2).
    6. This mechanic will happen three times in the phase meaning Team 1 will soak the first and third set.
  • Frostfire Volley Icon Frostfire Volley (Scrollsage Iku)
    1. Scrollsage Iku targets several players with Fire and Frost missiles which must be spread apart.
    2. Each Fire missile (Ranged) creates a Fire Patch Icon Fire Patch and applies Burning Flames Icon Burning Flames.
    3. Each Frost missile (Melee) creates a Frost Patch Icon Frost Patch and applies Piercing Frost Icon Piercing Frost.
    4. Place these pools towards the edge of the room.
    5. After placing a pool you are able to clear the opposite type of pool by running over it, however this will deal raid wide damage.
    6. Healers: This is a very high period of raid-wide damage, cooldowns should be used here.

1.2.4.

Scrollsage Iku Ultimate

  • Spread Frostfire Volley Icon Frostfire Volley circles near the edge of the room.

  • Healers: Use raid cooldowns while the debuffs are being cleared.
1.3.

Notable Changes on Mythic Difficulty

Below you will find information on the most important changes on Mythic difficulty. Naturally many abilities will deal more damage or affect more players, while enemies have more HP, so we will be focusing on mechanical changes.

  • Relic Rupture Icon Relic Rupture
    1. Breaking a crate will apply Splinters Icon Splinters to the raid.
    2. If a crate is not broken within 25 seconds it will deal additional raid wide damage.
