This page goes into detail on the Mail Armor Crafting specialization of Dragonflight Leatherworking, and will guide you through the various aspects of the tree and profession.

1.

Best Mail Armor Crafting Talents in Dragonflight

The Mail Armor Crafting tree has two main branches, which focus on different slots of gear.

Large Mail Armor specializes in chests, helms, shoulders, and wrists, while Embroidered Mail Armor specializes on legs, gloves, belts, and boots.

2.

Best Leatherworking Talents for Large Mail Gear

  1. 10 points into Mail Armor Crafting for pathing;
  2. 10 points into Large Mail for pathing;
  3. 20 points into Mail Shirts, Mail Helms, Shoulderguards, or Bracers to increase your skill with that particular craft;
  4. Swap into the Leatherworking Discipline tree for more skill and inspiration with a particular craft or invest further into Large Mail and Mail Armor Crafting to be able to unlock the other armor pieces.

If you want to be able to craft the highest Quality mail armor possible, you will want to invest fully into the gear slot nodes available in this tree. However, take note that while this grants high skill and unlocks the crafting and modifying of the baseline epic mail piece in the specialized slot, much of your potential skill will be coming from the Leatherworking Discipline as well.

3.

Best Leatherworking Talents for Intricate Gear

  1. 10 points into Mail Armor Crafting for pathing;
  2. 10 points into Intricate Mail for pathing;
  3. 20 points into Greaves, Gauntlets, Belts, or Boots to increase your skill with that particular craft;
  4. Swap into the Leatherworking Discipline tree for more skill and inspiration with a particular craft or invest further into Intricate Mail and Mail Armor Crafting to be able to unlock the other armor pieces.

Similar logic applies with the other side of the tree: you want to invest deeply into the gear slot you want to craft and then finish off with Leatherworking Discipline talents in order to gain as much potential skill as possible on your crafts.
